My fiance took my sister and I here last Friday for dinner. The wait outside was about 30 minutes but I was OK with that. We when sat down we ordered and our appetizers came pretty fast. We ordered the hush puppies which were really good and the mozzarella sticks. I ordered the halibut fish tacos and must say I was not really impressed. It cam with two tacos. One was filled with fish but the other hardly had any in it and it was pretty mushy. I am sure the other entrees are really good but I probably wont order the fish tacos again. I would give this place another shot though.
Review Source:Came here at the recommendation of a friend, and looked pretty promising on Yelp from previous reviews. Â Not sure my group just didn't order the right things, or if the standards of restaurants near beaches are just lower in general, or if it's because I failed to order the highly acclaimed orange crush, but didn't find anything super remarkable about the food in the place, although I have to admit, the location, as well as the interior and the beach view are all pretty cool, if you're into restaurant atmosphere and stuff.
I got the flounder sandwich, and it came out pretty well. Â Wasn't really seasoned with anything special, and wasn't over or under-fried, but aside from that, it wasn't very remarkable. Â Kind of disappointing, actually, because I feel like flounder has a lot more potential than how it ended up. Â The fries that were given on the side were also equally unseasoned, and they didn't give me that many.
Service was decent and relatively friendly, and they have free valet parking. Â I feel like Waterman's is a good spot to go to if you're a fan of the atmosphere and don't care too much about the quality and amount of food that you're getting for what you pay. Â If the food could somewhat better match the overall atmosphere that they restaurant gives off, I would consider coming back.
Take decorating tips from this place, nothing else.
So basically upon coming here you'll notice that there will probably be zero parking. Don't let that deter you, for there are plenty of guys in blue shirts that will valet your car for free to some unknown location. It's their way of saying sorry our parking lot is the size of your attic. And yes, to the satisfaction of my boyfriend, the valets are capable of starting up and driving manual cars.
They won't seat your table until the entire party arrives. So that means if some people in your group are prone to taking the all the wrong turns and continuing on in the opposite direction until they reach a military base, it may be literally one hour before you get to eat anything. In fact, they won't even get you started with water even though there are plenty of empty tables around. The gift shop in the back is very cute and has some very cool decor and stuff, if you're into getting gypped even more in addition to the riddiculous prices for stuff on the boardwalk.
Food was decent, nothing to rave about, but fair for the prices. I got a grilled chicken sandwich and asked for avocado and pineapple on it. They did not have pineapple, which is okay. When my sandwich arrived, I saw that they had given me two super skinny slices of avocado - it was probably enough to cover about 10% of my sandwich. You'd think for the $1.59 extra charge they'd give you at least enough to eat a sandwich with. Fries were meh, typical average stuff. Waitress was nice enough. Everything is made with kosher salt which is good if you are on an anti-iodine diet. Definitely an averagey kind of place. Some people in my group got seafood, others got burgers. Consensus? Food was decent. Nothing all that special. The place itself is very quaint, with a nice view of the beach at the back. If it's nice enough outside, you can ask to have your meal outside.
