What's not to love about Bamboo House! My family and I have been coming here to eat for over 10 years, even though we're Latino, we can't get enough Pho & their famous chicken wings. In which I do have to admit... In trying to figure out the famous recipe in my own kitchen. I've come VERY close ;) Â They have recently renovated the interior of the restaurant, and it looks cozy and warm. They dimmed the lights a bit inside, added tall booths, new wood floors. Not a huge makeover , but a gentle facelift. And the food , same ... Delicious ...consistent awesomeness !
Review Source:Best restaurant in the universe. Â You may drive by it if you live here and never take a second look. Â When you walk in you are greeted uniformly by the workers and/or family. Â Neon lights and a TV in the background contribute to the decor; the interior aesthetic is dire-yet the food is so good you don't even notice. The food transcends everything. Â I am Buddha at Bamboo House.
I want to preface by saying the first dish I ordered here was so good, I have never ordered ANYTHING else. Â I have come with other people and they enjoy what they have as much as I do, and I have sampled what they have, but it is impossible to order anything but #20 because it is so amazing. Â Everyone raves about the chicken wings, scallion pancakes and soups, but I can't get enough of #20 Banh hoi, a Vietnamese dish with rice vermicelli-a sponge like accompaniment-with scallions, a side of fresh lettuce, mint, Asian coriander, the kicker is the pork in amazing sauce sprinkled with peanuts. Â You take all of these ingredients and wrap them in clear rice paper rolls that you get to dip in hot water they bring you. Â They serve the most delicate Jasmine tea with the meal as well, and the portions are enormous. Â The price is phenomenal, if you aren't a pig you almost always have leftovers.
My girlfriend always gets a vegetarian dish, it is essentially a spicy bamboo shoot and lemongrass dish that is served with braised gluten and a tasty sauce, however she substitutes the gluten for lightly fried tofu and loves it. Â She always gets the same thing, you can't really explain the sauces there, they are so good, the need for salt and pepper is not necessary, her dish comes with a perfect white sticky rice, they don't have brown rice, but who cares, you can splurge here it is such a treat. Â It's nice that they have Sriracha on the side at every table as well, although you never need it. Â
Also, it's BYOB, it doesn't get better! you have an amazing meal and bring your own bottle, it's a total wet dream.
Go there and indulge.
THE END.
came with my girlfriend to try something new I got the thai style chicken fried rice with some spring rolls hmmm mmmm good! We should have gotten 8 instead of 4! Girlfriend got the salt and black pepper shrimp and said it was really good as well. Everything we had was fresh. They lost a star because service was a little slow one server for the whole dining room.
Review Source:The chicken wings: better than a warm Krispy Kreme doughnut when you're drunk, better than coming home exhausted to clean fresh sheets, so good you'll slap your mama. Everything else is amazing. If you love food you'll love this place.
Pho is flavorful and very good, but you must get the wings, also the rare beef with lime, holy moly, out of this world.
P.S. You can BYOB
How good can wonton soup be? Try theirs, it is worlds apart. The claypot salmon is to die for. Salt and Pepper Shrimp, wow!. The chicken wings are the best I have ever eaten, anywhere. Â Everything is fresh and tasty. BYOB. This place is a jewel. The atmosphere is like eating in someone's overlit kitchen. The owners grandkids are usually there watching Dora on the TV in the corner. I wear my baseball cap because the lights are so bright. The whole family works here.
Review Source:The people who work at this place recognize my family. They are more than I think scared whenever we come in to eat because we order ridiculous amounts of food. This past time was 3 large orders of the spring rolls (so 24 spring rolls for 5 people) another app and we all had our own dinners too. Nonetheless, basically no left overs.
Still as yummy as before. I got their bun... the noodle bowl with veggies and meat on top. It was yummy... but I felt like it could have been a little bit better. Still my fav place to eat Viet.
My bro went to pho saigon one day when bamboo house was closed and they said it was gross. Who knows. But as they say if it isn't broken, don't fix it
I have been to Vietnam 3 times and love Vietnamese food. Â Bamboo House is the best and it is amazingly inexpensive. Â Try their lotus root salad, pho, salted and pepper shrimp and rice paper wraps. Â Everything is light and flavorful. Â I eat here once a week and it has a great family atmoshphere.
