I'm only giving this place 3 stars because in my opinion, the food here is much more "Americanized" Chinese. Â For some reason the further you get from NYC, the harder it is to find really good Chinese food. Â My daughter and I shared the General Ching's chicken with pork fried rice. Â Although the chicken was fresh, the slices were way too big. Â The rice was good, but it didn't have any vegetables in it. Â We got the fried noodles to snack on before dinner. Â The duck sauce was so watered down, it got everywhere. Â
Although other reviewers claim this is the best Chinese food in town, I have to agree. Â But living throughout CT and NYC, I've had so much better.
Sketch-y part of town.
But...
GO FOR IT! Â This place was awesome. Â I was in some deep crazy way for some americanized chinese food and I read the Yelp reviews (THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! - I really gotta compliment EVeRYONE who yelped before me) Â and lo and behold...this place was the BOMB.
Portions were OUT OF THIS WORLD HUGE. Â Crazy big, ya'll. Â So what if everything came out at one time? Â I just ate and ate until I almost cried.
We had sooooo much food left over, it was insane.
Everything was fresh and everything that was supposed to be crunchy was. Â I love that.
I had to disagree with anyone who put down the service. Â There were 2 women working, and they were working hard. Â They were friendly and I wanted to hug them because they were pretty attentive even tho it was busy.
The only downfall was.......
Get a load of this....
We all had the same fortune in our 3 cookies.
GO to this place if you want good fast chinese food. Â Now I'm hungry again! Â dagnabit.
Not bad for a Chinese restaurant so far from Chinatown! Their chow fun was pretty close to the real thing, and the portion was big enough to last me days (I'm a fan of having/ eating leftovers). It did take close to forever for the food to come out, but if ever I crave Chinese food while around Springfield, I definitely won't hesitate to drop by Wong Wok.
