Ended up here last night since King Ribs was out of ribs. Â I've been to the MLK location before and remembered their ribs being a bit tough and not all that smoky. Â Pretty much the same at this location. Â I was surprised since the pile of wood out front got me hoping for some quality smoke. Â Ribs were significantly smaller than King Ribs, and everything seemed a bit more expensive. Â Ended up spending $30 for a slab and two sides. Â Mac 'n' Cheese was mushy and flavorless, but the Greens were very very good. Â With Miguel's now closed, these may be the best greens in town. Â I might have to stop in again just for those.
Review Source:This is owned by the same family who owns the one on Martin Luther King and 26th street. They said it closes earlier because there is a lot more riff raff around it. Must be pretty bad. The food is the same just not the 'main' store. Get the rib tips with hot sauce on the side. Their gristle is almost tender enough to eat if you like that stuff. Â This is one of my favorite places to get rib tips! I recently just discovered that they have this second location. Â Their official way to spell it: Bar-B-Q Heaven
There is only a small area to stand to order behind what looks like bulletproof plastic. They only take cash and it is a little pricey but so worth it. Â They also sell neck bones, pigs feet, chili, bologna, chicken, rib, sandwiches, sides(collard greens, corn on the cob, baked beans, mac and cheese, cole slaw, potato salad) and dessert (sweet potato pie, chess pie, pecan pie, cheesecake). Â The meal comes with 2 sides and bread. Â Their hot bbq sauce is very tasty too! Corn is just frozen on the cob and they heat it up for you as you order, so nothing special.
