I never visited one of the older Tip Tops so I have no standard of comparison. However I can honestly say this newest version is a keeper. The place is spacious and bright;and the huge ornate back bar reminds me of an old neighbor hood bar from the late 60's early 70's. Their menu is predictable bar food but the cooking is unpredictably good. The burgers are 8 oz.hand formed and their tenderloins are hand cut and then run through a cuber. That breaks down the muscle better than the ubiquitous hammer; making for a more tender, tenderloin. These too are 1/2 pound whoppers, and you can get them breaded and deep fried or flat top grilled. I chose grilled and I couldn't ask for a better piece of pig. The prices are more than reasonable; less than $8 for sandwiches, with choice of side. And for all the hop heads they sell pints of craft beer for $3.50 to $4.00.They also serve breakfast;starting at 7:00 AM. Don't expect week end or late night service as they are only open M-F,and close at 10:00 PM. I gave them 4 stars because the joint pleased me that much. The fifth star will probably come after more visits. I am not above giving 4 stars, the first time out;but never 5.I'm not that easy.
