Awesome bar!!! I went there after work around 5pm and was blown away. I sat at their massive bar and got some of the best service I've had in a long time. Brett was a very knowledgeable and personable bartender. He guided me through their extensive beer and appetizer selections.
Did I mention Happy Hour? Their appetizers are half off and their beers are $3. Needless to say I will be back.
Great happy hour specials. And gluten free options :)
A few of my friends and I met up at this Bar Louie for my birthday recently and not only were the martinis/margaritas/mojitos half off for happy hour, but so were their small plates/appetizers. And I asked our waitress if they had a gluten free menu and she promptly delivered a very easy and straight forward list of OK items. I was shocked and impressed to learn that their shrimp appetizer and fish/chicken tacos were naturally gluten free and there were a couple other options as well which were lovely. Great place for happy hour, it stayed busy all night too which was great to see, but our server still remained very attentive.
I'd definitely go back when in the area again- try the Kiss My Aztec Martini- you definitely won't regret it!
First and last time there. In town visiting friends and family, bugs in our drinks, very slow service and a couple debit card numbers turned up stolen after visiting here.... Only place all of us visited together before our numbers stolen, coincidence? Â Perhaps... Will not be returning.
Review Source:Lots of fun, the drinks are pricey and the service is just fair. Â That may be because the place is full most of the time. Â With that being said the staff for the most part, doesn't worry about you because they don't need you to make money. Â
You have other choices on were to spend you money and you will get over the newness. Â The out side dinning is one of the big reasons that Louie's keep its customer not the food or the service. Â The food is small and costly nothing to brag about.
I've been here 3 times so I feel I can give it a fair review. Â I'd describe the experience with 2 words "slow service". Â The food was ok and the environment was ok. Â The interior design looked nice but it's very noisy.
They appear to be busy but I think that's because there's only 2 good restaurants on the north end of town. Â If you want great food and drink that is "less hip" go 200 yards due west.
Based on the hype from friends, this place sounded like the place to be. Â So we went on Tuesday and my expectations were high from those recommendations, and from my initial view of the place.... very nice looking place... Â Unfortunately, the food we had was ok at best... Â The service was fine based on the group of folks we were with.... Â Another observation was the number of "cougars" in the place, so if you are in to that, this may be the place to visit. if for nothing else, to watch....
Review Source:The only person on their game here was the bus boy. He took both my appetizer and meal plate away before I was done eating. Â The service was slow and inconsistent. There were 2 of us eating and the waitress could not take and deliver both our drink orders and refills at the same time. Â She would go get one beer, and then return 10 minutes later with another. Â
During our visit, there was a birthday party at the bar. At 7pm on a Thursday, we had to shout at each other in the dining room because of the loudness of the bar.
Upon recommendation from a friend, I ordered the mac n cheese with broccoli. The mac was bland and the broccoli was raw. Â Terrible.
I have been to several other Bar Louies and have had wonderful dining experiences. Not sure what is wrong with this location.
We arrived at about 6 pm for dinner, only had to wait about 20 minutes for a table. Â Once we sat down at our table, it was at least 20-25 minutes before we saw our waitress (we kept asking everyone that passed our table for our waitress and were told "I'll get her" and then nothing....). It would have been okay if we had our drinks, but we didn't have anything! Â When the waitress came, I said "Oh, I thought that you didn't see us sitting here...", she said "Yeah, right"!!! Not the right response....
I ordered the Italian sub (I had it before at another Bar Louie), but  this sandwich did not have much meat in it! It was mostly bread and cheese, very disappointing. The last time that I had this sandwich, it was stuffed with a lot of  meat, cheese and veggies. I told everyone that it was the best italian sub I had ever had, but not this time.  Don't know if we will be back to this Rochester Bar Louie.
We went to celebrate my mom's birthday on a Tuesday night. There was a 50 min wait to get seated which is ridiculous on a Tuesday night. Once we got seated we discovered that they had at least 10 open tables but for some reason they were making people wait nearly an hour to be seated. The service was horrible. It took 15 min to get our drinks, 30 min to get our food, my pop was never refilled once. Â It was just a bad visit all around for a burger that was slightly above average.
Review Source:First time here on 03/06/12. Â Went for the happy hour and burgers for a $1. Â Got there about 4:30 and lucky we did - - within 15 minutes of our arrival, people were now having to wait for a seat. Â Our service was A+++ Â Since our first time here, waitress explained the whole deal on the happy hour and was very friendly. Â Shared a couple of apps - - really loved the warm pretzel sticks with trio of dips - the cinnamon butter (whatever) was awesome. Â Also got the chips with 3 dips - what you can say about chips and dips - - they were chips and dips (queso, salsa and quac) - no complaints. Â About 5 to 5 our waitress came over and asked if we would like to put in our burger order now ($1 burger starts at 5). Â Keep in mind for a $1 you get burger and lettuce on a bun. Â Add ons were .25 to .50 each. Â Even with adding a couple of items, you couldn't get a burger at McD's this cheap. Â You can't order your burger during this happy hour how you want it cooked - - but hey, again $1 people!! Â I guess when your cooking all those burgers at once, you're going to get the luck of the draw - my burger came out very juicy and even the barest of pink in the middle (yum) - - but hubbys came very well done and even a bit dry. Â Also during hh draft beers are $3 had a couple of craft brews - they have a very good selection.
All and all a pretty good experience.  I would definitely go back for the happy hour .  I'm not sure if the food is worth the full prices here - $10-12 for a burger!  But if your looking for some cheap eats and some cheap (good) beer - this is the place.
Service was good, manager checked in with us several times. Food was average, servers did not bring all meals to the six of us that had dinner in a timely manner, the delivery was staggered. One of my guests ordered a steak well done and it arrived medium rare, but it was promptly fixed.
The happy hour specials were a good value and the motif of the restaurant was a step up from the average bar and grill. They were also challenged to get our bills straight, but we did go a few days after opening and this can be expected for a new restaurant with new employees. We will give them another try.
