This place is fantastic.  Everything was the best.  Service, food, atmosphere are all over the top.  I started with Tea that is sweetened with Hibiscus Syrup.  Different, but very good.  Appetizer - Crab Cake Brulee, this is a must.  Entrée - Picanha na Chapa which is a marinated steak that is grilled and served with the best tasting vegetables.  Dessert - Lady Fingers with a Walnut sauce.  Not overly rich but the perfect end to a GREAT meal.  I will eat here every time I am within 20 miles.
Review Source:Tried this place last night purely on the of good Yelp reviews, and was not disappointed. Mussels and clams appetizer, shrimp curry and fish stew as the entres. All good, and the bread with the appetizer was out of this world. Wonderful service, passionate people, with live music, can't wait to go again and eat the paella special.
Review Source:AHHHH-Mazing Caipirihnas....hands down the best I've had.
Food has the Brazillian flare without the 10 pounds of meat coming to your table. Â We went a little crazy our first time and racked up the bill to $122 for the to of us (shame) but we couldn't help it, everything on the menu looked so amazing.
We ordered a dozen "melt in your mouth" oysters.
The clam and muscle appetizer was delicious. Â We asked for an extra piece of what seemed to be like freshly baked bread so we could sop up the juices from the bottom of the pan. Â I might consider just ordering the sauce for this dish and a basket of bread for my next visit ;)
The seafood linguini came nice and spicy, just the way we Portuguese like it. Â
The curry shrimp in the pumpkin not only looked cool but was carved out with tons of fresh succulent shrimp, sadly I couldn't eat it all :(
It started to get a little busy around 5pm on a Sunday but the staff was super attentive and accommodating by bringing literally 5 different hot sauces and peppers for su to try.
Brazilian music was playing in the background and I couldn't help but dance in my chair. Â at about 5pm there was a live Brazilian band playing the congos and other authentic instruments.
This was a nice little place that we will definitely come back to.
Only con is that it looks out into a parking lot so as you are sitting eating outside there are cars coming to park directly in front of your table. Â I would like to see this place do well and move to a better location.
My partner and I only wanted a small dinner and the friendly waitress was very helpful in describing how big the items were. Â The soup of the day - chicken, vegetables, spicy broth - was fantastic; we split a herbed mahi majhi sandwich, very good. Â Simple place but nice vibe; band started up as we left c. 9 pm, would have been very loud in the small space.
Review Source:Stopped in for dinner and we weren't quite sure what to expect from the outside but we were so glad we went on in for dinner. Â Every entree at our table was very well-received. Â This included the Fish Stew, Paella, and several others. Â There was some nice "background" entertainment. Â The cocktails were excellent albeit a little pricey.
I would recommend giving this place a try!
Chique looking place at the edge of the road. Seafood and Brazilian mix make for an interesting menu. Very tasty food, though many appetizers were fried leaving me to wonder how the beautiful Brazilian women eat this and maintain their figures... Service was ok. Took a while for us to get noticed with only one other table seated in the place, then asked for food to come out bit by bit and everything arrived in 10 minutes. But overall enjoyable.
Review Source:It's a really nice establishment and the service was great.
I'm a vegan so I don't think I can fairly rate this because they are a seafood restaurant. Â I had fries and a salad and they were good.
My boyfriend had the frio misto - fried shrimp/calamari/octopus (yuck says this vegan!) - he loved it going down but it took a toll on his belly.
The place itself is really nice and I love the decor - very beach/romantic with white tablecloths, white walls (and some nice art), white candles, white curtain - it's really pretty.
But I probably wouldn't go back only because my vegan diet would allow little for me to eat.
Wee Hoo! The Barracuda Lounge came off as a complete surprise to me by turning out to be one of the very best, authentic Brazilian restaurants that I've found. I knew I had hit a hidden Brazilian gem when everyone was speaking Brazilian (one may say Portuguese, but there are slight differences), downing shots of cachaca and indulging in afternoon ciapirinhas.
I order the special of the day, Seafood Paella, which at first taste of its flavors transported me back to the days of the wonderful times I've spent roaming the seaside resorts of Brazil; authentic in every way.
The interior is clean, modern with a definite Brazilian décor about it though from the outside there isn't anything indicating the restaurant to be Brazilian and best off, nothing gimmicky about the place.
In all, it's a place I will have no hesitation to frequent in the future and would easily rate it a solid 4 Stars plus.
A small "trendy" place with white tablecloths and cloth napkins with Brazilian seafood to boot.
The food were mostly big enough to share with two people and they were presented nicely. The portuguese steamed clams and mussels ($10.95) were good although the chouriço (Portuguese chorizo/sausage) could have been of a better quality. The Brazilian pastries ($6.99 for 3) were delicious and I would order them again. The caipirinhas ($8) were strong and well-made with muddled fruits. The moqueca de peixe ($20.99) was the star entree of mixed seafood stew. It had a rich flavor and the whole table loved it. The camarao na moranga ($19.99) was a disappointment even though it was lovely presented (shrimps inside a whole pumpkin). I think the pumpkin itself was a bit too unseasoned that it took the flavor away from the shrimp.
Overall, this was a nice find and my first foray into Brazilian seafood, a country largely known for their beef (which they also have in the menu, of course).
I've only been there twice but both times I had EXCELLENT service.
Both times I was served by Danielli who absolutely made the experience enjoyable.
The bar tender, cant recall her name, was definitely helpful explaining the brazilian signature drink, Caipirinha, which she later made me a glas on the house.
The food which I cant recall the name (see my pictures) has been totally a 5 star dish. Taste, presentation & freshness was all great!
The live scene is amazing! I don't understand Portuguese but the music was great!
The parking lot was packed with many brazilians meeting but as a non brazilian you do not feel out of place.
It's a must go place. Enjoy!
The Barracuda Bar strikes you as a local spot, almost hidden amidst other shops and neon signed restaurants. It is truly a diamond in the rough. Our waiter was Samuel/Sammy. He was very attentive and eager. The place was almost empty, but it was a Monday.
We started with apps of a shrimp salad and clam chowder. The clam chowder may have been a bit salty for my tastes, but I attribute that to the bacon in the chowder. From there, we moved onto our main course. We both ordered the Mahi-Mahi sandwich, without the bread. My companion ordered her Mahi-Mahi grilled with jasmine rice and veggies. I ordered mine blackened with fried yucca. We both sampled each others and both bits of the fish were delicious. I enjoyed the spiciness of my blackened piece but also the grilled piece was delicious. Both huge filets were firm, flaky, piping hot and outstanding. The veggies were a bit oily and went untouched after a bite. The fried yucca was a new taste, but still quite good.
The decor had a decidedly Brazilian flare and the Portuguese language was flying around inside. Seats were comfortable and even the locals that came in seem to love this spot.
In closing, outstanding service, beautiful decor, attentive staff and awesome seafood. I will definitely go back the next time I stay in Deerfield Beach. Well within walking distance of the Embassy Suites we stayed in.
We took out of town friends here based on the reviews. Â We started with the organic fried zuchinni. Â It is usually zuchinni sticks but these were a thin slice of the full zuchinni that were lightly breaded with panko crumbs. Â Perfectly fried and delicious with a very nice aioli sauce. Â I am a gluten free vegetarian and they accommodated me with a beautiful plate of their juliene seasonal vegetables (zuchinni, squash and carrots), jasmine rice and black beans. Â My only complaint -- a little too much salt. Â My companions had the Barracuda Salmon, herbed mahi mahi sandwich, and the special of the night which was a whole stuffed snapper filled with clams, mussels and shrimp. Â Everyone loved their dishes and we would all come back. Â They do need to watch the salt as everyone felt that there was a heavy handed use of it, and I did see someone come in the front with Publix bags filled with rolls. Â They should consider baking their own. Â Our server William was great and we all received the correct orders in a reasonable amount of time. Â Not sure what happened the next night (we were there on 2/10). Â Our experience was very positive.
Review Source:Horrible horrible horrible.. Â after waiting 1 hour and a half we received 2 out of 6 entrees and another tables french fries. Â That 2 entrees we did receive were the kingfish specials that were over cooked and served with a luke warm sauce. Â In the hour and a half time frame we were only given 1 piece of bread for 6 people to share. Â What was even worse was that we did not come in until 8 o'clock at nite and the restaurant only had 3 tables that were sat. Â No manager ever came by. Â I don't understand how they can be open. Â What is even more disturbing is that I chose the restaurant from the 3 yelp reviews. Â I've been in the restaurant business for 37 years and this has to be 1 of my worst restaurant experiences. Â I offered to pay for the 2 entrees that were served and they took my money. Â I am now across the street feeding my family and parents.
Review Source:After reading the stellar reviews around the web, we decided to try Barracuda. Simply put the experience was superb. The service is friendly and knowledgable, the dishes inspired. The Frito Misto rock shrimp and calamari appetizer was tremendous, only to be outdone by the Camarao na Moranga - jumbo seasoned shrimp baked in a baby pumpkin... the rest of the menu is just as interesting!
We'll be back - very soon!

Wow!! What a remarkable find!! Let yourself slip in the mood, feel the atmosphere, groove to the music and ambiance. Â We started our vacation eating here and it is such a high point!! We used Yelp to find it and at mid 6 on a Friday it was relatively empty, but we went in and ordered the little pumpkin with curry and shrimp, fish tacos and delicate empanas (the latter 2 ) for starters. Â Oh my! Great with the house Pinot Grigio. Â Service was superb and dress is from casual to dress up. Â The bar is a full bar with 2 Happy hours!! One is 9 pm to 2 am. Another is to 7 pm. Â Take me away to Brazil - I cannot wait to return !!!
Review Source:Another super cool place in Deerfield beach that is just one minute from the beach. Â We loved the decor, music, and staff. Â We shared an order of fish tacos, pastel (empanadas), and Camera na Moranga (shrimp in baby coconut). Â Wow, it was all good. Â We were tired after driving all day to get to Deerfield Beach but next time we're going to come for the happy hour and spend more time at the bar before we order dinner.
Review Source:WOW! This place is amazing! just open around the corner from my place, great food at a great price, happy hour everyday, and the place is very well kept, decorative, and modern. i had the frito misto for my appetizer and the PF for my entree and they both mind blowing! also me and my girlfriend shared the crab cake and it was by far the best i have ever had!
i highly suggest for all parties!
So I am brazilian and I live in Atlanta. I was driving through and decided to go in based on yelp reviews. I think this place changed my vacation experience. First of all, if this place was in Atlanta, I would become a regular. Like, real regular. This is not a brazilian restaurant that tries to sell itself as a brazilian restaurant to an american environment. Instead, this is a restaurant you would find in Ipanema, with its white furniture and cool, beachy, understated elegance, that just happened to serve some brazilian items along with some international inspirations (they serve seared tuna, varied sandwiches and pasta dishes, as well as a to-die-for camarao na moranga and moqueca de peixe). Love it. Hope this place gets lots of business.
Review Source:Enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner at Barracuda Bar & Seafood tonight in Deerfield Beach. Â Our party of six each ordered a different item off the menu and shared bites. WOW! Every dish was unique and succulent and all winners in their own right. Â We had Wilma's special shrimp dish (Camarao?), a Brazilian fish stew with coconut milk (I forget the name of it), grilled dolphin, the grouper special, and a LeBron burger. Â For dessert, we shared a couple slices of homemade coconut pie and a fresh mango puree/sorbet dessert. Â We noted that the prices were quite reasonable - all entrees were about $18 or less (burger was $10) came with hearty sides and a warm bread basket (with a delightful olive spread). Â I highly recommend a stop here to savor this unique fusion of Brazilian flavors.
Review Source:This place is cute! Â An absolutely adorable and hidden gem next to the 7-11 Store near the beach. Â A seaside motif mixed beautifully with linen table cloths, baby's breath sprays on every table, and striking silverware--heavy, iron-like black handles with stainless tips. Â I hope they don't lose any to theft.
The owner, Wilma, is a Brazilian as is her chef Marcia (pronounced Mar-see-a), and both came by the table to introduce themselves. Â My mother and I commented how we always enjoyed meeting the people behind the restaurant. Â This is a brand new place--open only a week, and they were warm, welcoming, and shared their plans for the future.
We stopped in to try a couple of small tapas plates which they featured to test out new ideas. Â Well, they hit a few home runs with us, and I hope they keep them on the menu.
We had a seared, black sesame seed encrusted ahi tuna that was fantastic and significantly portioned. Â At $9.50, this appetizer could easily have justified a higher price tag. Â It was perfect and very fresh.
We also had three "sliders". Â Sliders are normally very small mini-sandwiches, but these were half sized sandwiches filled with steak, chicken and pork and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Â One note: I think they would have been perfected with a dab of aioli, but they were still wonderful. Â At $6.95, the price is downright cheap. Â Again, they could add good Cape Cod or Kettle potato chips and charge $9.00 instead of the too-low price. Â We ended with a deliciously moist chocolate layer cake that seemed a cross between a tres leches and a tiramisu. Â Fantastic!
We didn't have drinks, but saw the prices were $5 for a glass of wine--certainly an enticement to get the crowds in. Â They featured Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, PBR and other beers on tap. Â They also had a full bar.
I don't like to suggest restaurants raise their prices, but they really need to do just that if they hope to be profitable and stay in business, and I hope they do!
