After my friends incessant begging me to come here, I finally gave in. I brought another buddy for his birthday. Ordered the fried green tomatoes for an app. We ordered water and tea, both were terrible. So, we swapped them for a bottle of root beer. Thanks IBC for the best part of my meal. So, 15 min after ordering the tomatoes we ask where they are and order or burgers. The burgers come in another 25 min, sill no tomatoes. Apparently the green tomatoes were frozen so they were going to be another 20 min. The burger was well, well, well done. Kinda chewy, flavorless meat. The bun was good. I'm pretty sure the bread filed me up, because the tiny filings between the buns surely didn't. Now, the Mac& cheese, it was slightly above average, but a little runny  with cheese stringers. Then we order shakes. Nutella & banana and a red velvet. Again, those took 18 min for the first one, the second came 6 min later (yes, I was timing by now). Honestly, if I ever come back here, it'll be just for the banana and nutella shake, nothing else. As I type this, I am changing the rating from one star to two. This extra star, solely because this shake is pretty good, not knock your socks off amazing....but still, darn good. So, basin burger, you just got two stars...barely.  I had to ask my buddy, what he thought of the place he said "The only things that were good there were the milkshake, mac and cheese and the way that waitress walked"  So, there you have it.  (Oh, and it was $40 for two burgers, 2 sides and 2 drinks, ouch!)
Review Source:We went here around 8 at night.... Shortest wait we've ever experienced in this area for a restaurant!!(Although, I've been hyping this place up because I feel like, yes it's that good--- at least to try something a little different from the other burger places out here) ! Enjoyed having the patio seating, we sat had some beers and enjoyed the breeze. We tried the fried green tomatoes as appetizer... It was on the dry side which was a little disappointing, but dinner which was a Portebello mushroom burger with sweet potatoe fries was really good. Usually, I feel like we get food in excessive amounts, Â (everything is bigger in Texas, right?) but my burger was actually a good sized portion. Our waiter, Aaron is probably the only waiter we've had in this area that knows what customer service is about!! Â Anyway, i wanna try their Sunday breakfast next, red velvet pancakes, anyone? Lol. However, if breakfast isn't your thing, come to try their other burgers ( salmon burger?), or even their alcoholic drinks too. There is something for everyone.
Review Source:I got the Black & Blue burger, and it was the first burger I've had in a while that was cooked correctly. It tasted pretty good too! A bit expensive for burgers and fries (to me.) A burger, a side, a drink, and a tip will run you about $20. But, it is good food and you will be full.
Considering that it was lunch time in Midland, I was surprised at how fast we were seated and at how attentive and friendly our waitress was. The woman working the bar was also very friendly.
I'm into beer so I was glad to see a couple of imports and craft brews alongside the usual stuff.
Really clean place, nice decor. Big and open, a bit loud. The outdoor area looked nice, but we sat in the bar.
The parking lot is small, and the street was full so I had to park at Subway and walk to the restaurant.
Other than the price and the parking, I really enjoyed this place and look forward to going back.
I so wanted to like this place because it has a cool atmosphere but I was disappointed! I'm giving it 3 Stars because of our waitress Arianna! They were short staffed which I've grown accustomed to in Midland but her service and demeanor went way beyond five stars. Other restaurants should scoop her up and give her whatever she wants! Now to the food. Hmmmm I think the burgers are overpriced for what you get. Â My Dad and I first ordered the onion rings. When they arrived they were cold, tasteless and very greasy. Then the burgers arrived. My Dad liked his but I didn't. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great and the buns were greasy. Where is all this grease coming from???? Again I REALLY wanted to like this place but I won't be back.
Review Source:Cool burger place. We sat in the diner area. There is also a sports bar area and a patio area. Â It was a little noisy because the kitchen is open on the diner side. Â
I had the Texan burger and my wife had the Mexi burger. When they brought them out my first thought was "oh great, small over priced burgers". Man was I wrong. The burgers were great. I was filled up. Â I think they make their own patties and buns.
We wanted milkshakes but we were too full.
Looks like it will be a fun place to go hang out with friends on the patio on a warm evening.
Only had drinks at the bar and an order of fries, but I cannot wait to go back for a meal! The place is great, cool decor and a nice addition to Midland. The bartender was great...she knew what she was doing. She made drink suggestions and was "right on" with each suggestion.
Fries were great. Fresh cut, skin on...loved them!
Nice to have a unique, fun place in downtown Midland.
I was able to get to burger basin today for lunch. I really enjoyed the burger and fries. I'm really impressed with the quality. The menu said the burgers are served medium rare, mine was definitely well done. This was still by far the best burger I've had in Midland. The fries were awesome. I wouldn't normally order a shake at a restaurant but I wanted to try them here. The waitress brought back something the consistency of a coke float or something that was half melted. She said she put the milk in first... why are the waitresses preparing the shakes?
Overall I was impressed and I'll be back but I probably won't be ordering or recommending the shakes to friends.
Oh and it took an hour and a half to get lunch. I would normally complain about this but it is Midland... and well... you just consider it a win if the place doesn't have unbussed tables and dropped food on the floor everywhere. I'm sure speeds will pick up once it dies down a little and employees get in the groove.
I hope the place does well and consider it a good sign as to the direction midland is headed.
Went during the lunch rush but only had to wait 15 mins for a table. Waiter arrived promptly. He was very good to constantly bringing refills and updating about when the food would arrive.
The lunch special is great! $10 for a big burger, drink and fries!
Ordered a strawberry milkshake for dessert, excellent!
I have been several times and the food and service continues to improve. The place is splendid. I was actually sitting next to Eric P when he was asked to leave. If the kid had proper manners and handled the situation like an adult everything would have been resolved. Â Being disrespectful will get you kicked out of most places. Â I cant wait until they get their staff trained.
Review Source:Went to the New Years open night and was so impressed. Then went back the following Sunday. Was greeted at the door with a smile and was informed that the kitchen was going to be slow. The decor is sharp and welcoming. We decided to stay and eat. The salmon salad was delicious, fries were crisp and didn't even need ketchup! and the Philly slider was the bomb. Looking forward to returning and savoring this delicious food.
