I ate at the Bass Proshop Restaurant for the first time this evening. The fish is great and the restaurant atmosphere makes for a relaxed evening. We received the wrong entree and the manager immediately recovered by making a new plate and offering a free meal.

Maybe it's just me but the staff here is horrible.  I was there yesterday mid day with not another customer anywhere around.  I walked up to the gun counter where there were 3 guys that worked there standing & talking about some DUI case.  I stood in front of them for at least 30 seconds without so much as a hello..  Then one of them looked at me as if I was bothering him and said (did you need something)  I asked a question that of course he didn't know the answer to.  This is not the 1st time I have had a problem at this store with rude and lazy workers but it will be the last.

I had always been skeptical of a store that comes on like a theme park; usually bought on-line or at retailers like Erehwon or REI.   But when I needed an obscure replacement part (glass chimney for a candle lantern) at the last minute, REI and Erehwon didn't carry it (and needed some added explanation to know exactly what it was).  At this Bass Pro Shop, the sales rep in the camping section knew exactly what I was looking for and led me right to where they had it on the shelf.  Score one for this shop.

Probably my least favorite of the Bass Pro shops I've been to. Why? Because we go here for boating things, as they have boats and boat supplies. The staff is completely unkowledgeable. Seems a shame too, that my husband and I would know more about your products and what they can and can't be used for than employees at a store that really should be trained on the parts of the store that they are located in.
The stock at this location seems to be quite a bit less than the other locations I've been to as well, even though it is quite a bit larger than the location in Bollingbrook...odd.
And to top it off, I don't really care for the angry looking cashiers. I understand it's not disney land, but you're getting paid to do your job and provide a service, it really shouldn't be inconvieniencing you that I want to spend my money at your store (which is why you have a job, if no one spent money there...you'd be out of a job)
It's not that I won't be back, it's just that this location needs to step it up a bit.

The Great American Outdoor store has majority if not all of your fishing, hunting, camping, and shooting needs. I love that this place has such an abundance of stuff and most importantly is pet friendly! That's right, bring Fido in to shop with you! Gotta love a place that is pet friendly!

This is a mecca for hunters and fisherman, but for hikers and campers not so much. I mean they have the basics for a family camping trip or a weekend at turkey run with some friends but if you are planning a serious camping/hiking trip I suggest Cabellas or better yet REI. I do love the women's clothing selection here and it is way lower then the other out doors stores. Their shoe department is also pretty awesome and so is the restaurant they have there. It's really worth even a little day trip to take your family to go look at the amazing giant aquarium they have and all the the indoor waterfall and taxidermy animals. The staff is pretty decent as well.

Neat place for outdoor gear. Restaurant is good place to eat. I have had the coconut shrimp. Not bad, although I would like to have a choice in side dishes for the price. Possibly a salad and baked potato instead of fries and cole slaw. Good place to go if you like to hunt or fish. I usually go just for the food. Bar has a neat aquarium.

All I can say is that the salmon I ordered came literally frosted with some strange cheese sauce (that was nowhere in the description for the dish on the menu) and when I asked our server what type of oysters they had she told me she would check...she returned to inform us that "it said on the can 'fresh shucked'." Bass Pro, please do the world a favor and stick to bait and tackle.

Hunter's paradise....my hubby loves loves this place!!!
I kind of like it too. There is something for anyone who loves
the outdoors, from hunting, fishing, camping, or boating.
It really is pretty awesome. This place is huge, you could
    browse around for hours.
They also have a great restaurant inside and a cool aquarium
    next to it.
