If you think you're going there for a 'waterfront view' and looking to sit outside and enjoy a nice glass of wine- think again. My fiance and I went there last night for dinner on the patio and it was the worst experience. From the service to the quality of food and cheap wine--- in a plastic cup! It was awful. We could have saved $80 and grilled a burger at home- and drank out of a real glass. Â I will say that the inside restaurant was a completely different vibe...
Review Source:Took best friends there for anniversary last week and was a good decision.
This restaurant was called "The Baccarat" for years and had a name change a few years ago [but apparently kept the same chef?]. Only negative of any type was I made reservations via phone & then confirmed & twice requested an inside restaurant booth table. Upon arrival the maître 'd' tried to sit us outside [facing bar where noisier & booths not as spacious]. After a brief chat we were escorted to the table I'd requested.
From there everything was superb!. Waiter was extremely friendly & consistently checked on us. Drinks ordered from bar were top rate. Apps & salads were excellent, but dinner was better.
I got a chef's filet with raspberry dressing and raspberry infused risotto & filet was the best piece of meat I'd had in a restaurant in several years. Wife had scallops & cooked to perfection. Friends wife had a rack of lamb that was as good as it gets in both taste & presentation. Husband had brochettes of beef which again the quality of meat was top rate and cooked perfectly. A few side orders such as coconut rice were all splendid as well. The desserts were excellent and when coffee is ordered you get your own individual serving pot - so no chasing down the server for a refill or topping off your lukewarm 1/2 cup.
Now this was NOT an inexpensive dinner [$380 for 4 persons incl. drinks with tip], but it was clearly the best dinner out we'd had in quite some time and very enjoyable. Inside restaurant is quiet & relaxing & we'd forgotten what a really good restaurant was like.
We'd eaten at Mistral the week before which was a huge disappointment and while much less [$220], we would def not go back to Mistral.
Conclusion: I am very picky and when I get bad food & or service I do not go back.
For me to give a restaurant 5 stars is saying a LOT & I will def be back at this one.
