Orchid Room

I went out in downtown San Carlos for the first time last weekend.  A friend took me to  Orchid Room and I was pleasantly surprised.  First and most importantly, there is smoking inside-a real smokey, dark, dive bar.  It's like traveling back in time!  We went on a Sunday night and there was a good crowd, but not too busy.  We were able to get served fairly quickly, and prices for the drinks were very reasonable.  I definitely enjoyed myself and if I am in that neck of the woods again, I will be sure to stop by.

A good dive bar... but gets full of yuppie kids quick. It was great until about 11pm on a Friday when all the townies started showing up...

Smoking allowed inside. Shuffle board and pool table. Golden tee. Full bar. Beer on tap. Grab a stool and a pint and drink. Solid 4 stars.

Best bar I've been to anywhere close to San Jose. You can smoke inside, the shots are right, well whiskey is tasty, and you don't have to dress up. Fantastic. Worth a CalTrain out here... like I said, the shots are right.

Oh? Did I mention shuffleboard. Rad.
