My wife and I needed to stay near Stanford Hospital as our son was having a serious operation requiring a week long stay. We chose this hotel because of its great reviews. It has not disappointed. The room and grounds are wonderful. The staff are delightful. Even the restaurant has been been great. The room is spacious and comfortable. Two sinks, one in the shower and one out which is perfect for a couple. The bed is quite comfortable. Good free wifi throughout the  hotel. Excellent fitness center. Heated pool and spa. Outdoor dining area. Even entertainment- steel drum band from St Lucia when we dined. We were married there.  Bartenders were honest about any requests for advise and attentive. Free bike rentals, car service, and many more services. Our only very minor annoyances were a bathroom fan that was ineffective and a rain head shower which I like but my wife doesn't. Only half a complaint on the latter as we just put put both types in our bathroom at home. Lol. Our son came through his ordeal well and we thank the staff here for their wonderful attitudes. Nice place to be. Ask for Aaron at the Bar.

I think one of the things I like most about the Stanford Park Hotel is the fact that it brings back fond memories of childhood. When I was young, we used to come up to Palo Alto to the Stanford Hospital for various reasons. Our pick for hotels was consistently and repeatedly SPH. I had fond memories of the Duck Restaurant (which has now changed and I can't for the life of me remember the name).

I am the worst at describing decorations but here goes nothing. The SPH is more of an older classic feel to a hotel. If you're looking for modern, this is not your place. I do guarantee that you will feel relaxed and comfortable just as you would any "modern" place around. It's very homey and of course kept really clean. When you walk into the lobby, you'll understand the environment they want you to experience.

They have free wifi and free parking overnight so you don't have to worry about that. There's a Safeway down the street. It's next to Stacks for breakfast and just a stone's throw away from the Stanford University campus. Another thing to note is that in the evening, they have warm chocolate chip cookies that they set out for the hotel guests. As a child, I used to take a handful (I had big hands) back to my room to enjoy. No, I didn't share.

SPH is part of a group of hotels throughout California which all give you that same feel and look. I've stayed at the one at Bodega Bay which was equally comfortable and attractive!

The hotel rates can be pricey but if you shop online sometimes you'll find a deal that beats anything they can give you on the phone and will beat any of the other Palo Alto hotels. If you never stayed here before, I suggest you give it a try!

I work closely with this hotel to put up our clients at my job.  Literally everyone that we have put up here has raved about it.  They love the quaintness of the entire place, the secluded location, and the Menlo Grill being connected to it.

So when I stayed here, I had very high expectations.  My girlfriends and I did a staycation for a birthday.  When I checked in everyone was so warm, and they saw how many awkward items I had an without hesitation helped me to my room.  The gentleman that helped me gave me lots of amazing pointers for our night out (even though I work in Palo Alto, he was ridiculously helpful).  The rooms was clean and incredibly cozy!

When all my friends arrived, they were stunned at where we were staying!  We wanted to just explore the entire hotel and make good use of our one night there... and that we did!  We used the gym, the hot tub, the pool, and took full advantage of the amazing rooms.  We ate at the Menlo Grill for her birthday (GET THE BREAD PUDDING) and the girls absolutely loved all they got!

I couldn't have asked for a better get away!
