One of the most fantastic lindy hop venues in the Bay Area!
Not only is the space (Cheryl Burke Dance Studio) really clean, well-maintained, spacious, and safe with ample parking, the people running the venue are beyond organized and friendly! They offer a great set of lessons each week that cover different topics for different skill levels.
The dancers are overall VERY welcoming and there's a wide range of skill levels so that beginners and advanced alike will feel comfortable and have a terrific night. Without a doubt, my favorite night of the week!
I needed to find a swing venue close by as I just moved to the area and I'm so glad I came last Wednesday!
The dancers are so friendly and inviting, I hardly missed my OC crowd. Â The dance floor is HUGE and nowhere nearly as crowded as other venues I've gone to. Â
This will become my weekly swing venue for sure and I would highly recommend those new to dancing to give this place a shot. Â Great location (off the 101), friendly dancers, and plenty of room to play!
I've tried swing dancing before and just loved it, so when I saw the chance to take an intro class for cheap well - I did!
The space is large, clean and nice. Â I enjoy the layout and the main room where you take the lesson feels comfortable. Â Overall, I really like that it felt very maintained. Â Later, there were a variety of snacks and a vending machine if you need refreshment.
The class was great! Â The instructor didn't go to fast, seemed to have an up beat attitude and was really quite personable. Â While I wasn't the best little dancer, I kept up and with the instructions, I had a great time. Â My partner had fun too and it is fun to switch up partners and meet new people.
Afterwards was a dance party and well I didn't feel all that skilled. Â So I opted out, but I would come again, take the class and get better. Â Then I'd feel like doing the party!
Come check it out, try something new and have some fun!
