I really enjoy making a trip to La Fiesta. On each of my two visits, I have gone with a large group (8+ people) and the restaurant always accommodates our party. The interior is a bit small for large crowds, but have always been able to get a seat within 10 minutes of arriving.

Relative decent location near downtown and parking is a little tight in the small lot. But the location is inviting and the interior is traditional mexican style.

One thing that stand out for me are some of the traditional and original recipe items available. They can also customize a plate for those with diet restrictions or make substitutions.

Servings are generous and always arrive hot and freshly made. I would say it's good some plates aren't larger as it would be easy to overeat and consume more than you should because it's so good.

Overall, I recommend trying it if your a fan of classic mexican food without crazy names or garnished with extras to make it appear more appealing.

I came here last Sunday after attending the farmers market.

Pros: The food is quite good, the decor is very colorful and fun
Cons: service wasn't bad, just not very friendly either and for me that's important

I ordered the Pollo al Chipotle which was very good. It's chicken breast grilled with onions topped with a Chipotle BBQ sauce (pretty spicy). The dish came with papas fritas and a tortilla, in addition to the typical spanish rice and refried beans. There was nothing on the plate that I didn't enjoy, everything was delicious.

The service on the other hand was pretty brief. I know sometimes the restaurant might be too busy, or stressful when its packed but in this case the restaurant was pretty empty. Probably only a handful of tables taken at most. Our water was definitely always full so they got the job done. The place just didn't have that warm welcoming feeling from the staff that makes me want to come back week after week if you know what i'm saying.

We came here for lunch after visiting the farmer's market. I must admit I am not a fan of Mexican food, but my boyfriend is so we decided to give this 4-star place a try!

I liked the decor in here. The walls are brightly painted with colorful paintings and star shaped lanterns hang from the ceiling. I got the Dr. Agave margarita & the vegetable mole enchilada. The margarita tasted clean, fresh & tangy. It was not overly syrupy or sweet like some can be. The mole here was much better than I've ever had before! It was not overly spiced, and was a bit sweet. The vegetable enchilada had a bit of cheese and was filled with onions, parsley, tomatoes, & different types of squash. Their rice was basic but good, & the beans were creamy and had a bit of a smokey flavor. I liked that their menu stated that no animal fats are used in their cooking! My boyfriend had the chipotle chicken, which was grilled chicken with a very spicy chipotle BBQ sauce, served with rice & beans, guacamole, tortillas & fried potatoes.

Overall, the food was good, but nothing to rave about (but perhaps if you really enjoy Mexican food you would!)

The only negative would be the prices and the service. The prices for everything were high, especially for Mexican food during lunch. Our server quickly came to take our order, but as I wasn't ready, we hardly saw him after that. Luckily, the bus boy was very attentive & he was the one who refilled out waters, cleared our plates, & brought us the check.
