The fish and chips is sub-par: <a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/st-stephens-green-mountain-view-2?select=ZrzmnoYGkB88X2B5Ar286A#ZrzmnoYGkB88X2B5Ar286A">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>
It's not nearly as good as the fish and chips at the Irish Bank in San Francisco. Â The coating is not light, delicate, or flavorful enough; the fish is a little mushy, and there is a thin layer of mushy batter between the fish and the crunchy batter.
A lot of things take into account the 5 star review I'm giving St. Stephen's Green.
1. The location - The location is great, it's right smack in the middle of downtown Mountain View.
2. The Beer Selection - Very important at a Pub... and they have it covered well, I almost want to guess that they have over 30 different types.
3. The Prices - Outstanding, nothing will break your wallet in half, expect maybe to pay 20.00 at most for one item.
4. The Food - I can honestly say, without a doubt, that they have the BEST (or damn near close to) Chicken Curry I have ever had in my life.
5. The Staff - Outstanding and, Irish. Great attitude, friendly all the time and is spot on when ordering.
5 points. 5 stars.
We had a great time at St. Stephen's Green on a Friday night. I like that there are tables and seats, and there was a great deal on a beer with a shot. Â No cover charge, the music was good, the people watching was fun, and I loved their random smoke machine and light show. The bartenders were super friendly, and it looks like they've got a great happy hour as well. Also, they do bottomless mimosa brunches on the weekends! Score! We will definitely be back.
