My husband and I got out of a movie at the Stanford Theater about 9:15 and walked over here for dinner last Saturday night. We had reservations and were greeted with a smile by the lovely hostess - the ambiance is wonderful and the service (especially from Kent, our server) was fabulous. We never had empty water glasses and our items were served beautifully. Kent knows his wine and gave us great advice about wine and food choices. We had the shortribs, the risotto, a cheese plate, and some wine flights - all were excellent. Â We had a lovely evening at a relaxed pace and felt it was the perfect place for an anniversary dinner, although we would come back with friends for a more casual evening too. They can accommodate larger groups for dinner at some of their big tables and they have a fun bar table atmosphere downstairs we would check out again on a future visit. Highly recommended!!!
Review Source:After searching Yelp for a bar open later than midnight on a Thursday night that wasn't packed with college kids, we found Scotty's. Â We happily trekked a few blocks only to find Scotty's was closed nearly two hours before their posted closing time. Â Boo, Scotty's! Â Fortunately, Gravity was a pleasant, OPEN surprise right next door! Â Yes, it is a wine bar, but they have a decent bottle beer selection including Czech Rebel, Old Engine Oil, Scrimshaw, some kind of white ale, and several others. Â Bartenders were super attentive, and even though closing hour is posted as 1 am, they let us order another beer at 12:55. Â Crowd is much more sophisticated than the sports bars in town. Â Several older patrons but also some younger ones who demonstrated a lot of class. Â We liked it so much we returned the next night. Â They have a really nice upper level, too. Â Great for groups.
