Sundance The Steakhouse

Their food was very tasty, their service was ok. I loved the ambience and inside decor..  I would return for a special occassion.

Sigh...I dunno. This place reminds me of Christian Bale having lunch at a "popular" restaurant craze place in American Psycho. That is, fancy service, ambience, lighting, menus....fancy looking food thats really just a simple slab of meat and potatoes....

Okay I'll give you that they have a vast wine selection that you can swirl and smell and drink all night. They've got all sorts of whiskeys that you can sip. They've got every type of steak, and even some fish (the seared tuna is actually pretty good), crab cakes (pretty decent).

Its just that this isn't the type of place that really blows one's mind. The prices are actually okay for a steakhouse, and the quality of the meats is pretty high. They cook everything to your hearts desire (medium rare was on point). Just nothing really eventful or exciting here. Lots of fresh warm sourdough bread, be warned, don't fill up on this stuff.

Honestly, its not that bad. For a rehearsal dinner, or a fancy dinner out, or a older adult type party, it gets the job done. Its hard to feel like this place isn't a bit dated, as maybe the era of indulgence and style has gone out the door, and we get more of our meals consisting of steaks and whatnot in well lit airy bistros or modern bars, but I'd have to say, its just okay for what you get.

Have come here many times.  Tonight was just a deal breaker though:

- music is horrible.   Bad 80s all night long.  and loud
-  order was mistaken.  
- steak was ok not great.  
- service was marginal - i had to go order a bottle of wine from the bar b/c server forgot about us
- bill was miscalculated.  two times.  First time they auto-included the tip.   second time they doubled the tip.   then we waited 15 mins for them to figure it out.

The bread was good though!
