Club Fuz or Club Illusion was my first gay club experience. I've been going here since I turned 18, as do a lot of friends, who are either gay/straight. Club Fuz really sends a good vibe once you get inside. However, it's a down grade from where it use to be back in Sunnyvale. It does feel a high school gym, just brighter, louder, and without the supervision of authority. The bar is such a downgrade as well, it is small and always crowded, and prices of drinks are something near or double of what you paid to get in the club. Security is always uptight, which is good because it does regulate the crowd, but it is kinda of a vibe kill.

I actually stop going here at times because it seems like its pretty for the younger crowd. High schoolers, who act trashy, slutty, and seems that can't hold there own liquor.

The upside is DJ Barney mixes are pretty awesome, and I LOVE his mix Cd's. The music can keep you going all night long. It's a mixture of top hits/hiphop/rap/pop. The newer location in Palo Alto added Go-Go dancer, which are a hit and miss. Atmosphere is relax and very chill.

I only go there for special occasions. ( i.e. Birthdays, Gay Pride, Anniversaries)

FOR ALL STRAIGHTS GUYS, who try to pick up girls at a LGBT club. I'm not sure if your game is weak for something, but think twice when hitting on a girl here. Sometimes, what you see, is not what you think. I'm just pointing that out.

my first gay club experience! My friend invited me, telling me that her friend was performing in a dance crew, and then she later on told me it was a gay club! She told me it was at Club Fuz, or Club Illusions in Palo Alto. I had pretty good experiences with Illusions when i was younger, so i was happy to go!

We got there before 10:30. and we got in for $5 dollars because my friend's birthday was in November! If you have a birthday in the month you are going, you can go in for $5, along with 5 of your other friends. Security was okay in the beginning, but i didnt like them because they didnt let in and outs!!! even if its only to drop a purse or a jacket back in the car (and even if you had proof, like a wristband).

There is a room/space separate from the dance floor for 21+ to get alcohol and chill, but not allowed to bring drinks to the dance space. but damn, the drinks were COMPLETELY watered down. my friend get the pineapple and vodka, i think? i tried it and did not taste the alcohol at ALL, tasted like water. My friend said if you wanted to even get a little buzzed, you had to drink your alcohol REALLY fast, like shotgun the plastic cup, hahah. There is also a patio outside for people to hang out and smoke. It started raining so the floor got really disgusting. and there wasnt much space to huddle under outside. Thankfully, there was ONE heater outside. they had a couple chairs scattered for people though.

dance floor.. pretty big and roomy. We arrived pretty early, and there was no one there. When a couple people showed up, no one was dancing. it was so awkward!!! it was like a high school dance. When people started to come in, probably 11pm or later, it was A LOT better. It got pretty fun after that. There were gogo dancers (male and female ooooh.) And people were racing up ahead on the stage to shove their dollar bills in the sweaty buff guys' armani underwear and in the girl's neon outfit. They played really good songs and i was just happy to have a good atmosphere to dance in with no tension of creepy guys trying to sidle up and bump and grind with you. the played gangnam style and it was cool watching everyone do the dance. They even had the music video playing on the screen from the stage.  also big plus for having a huge water cooler with plastic cups for people to drink.

When dance crew came on, it went crazyy! everyone was whistling and clapping, they had a lot of space to do their performance. I remembered near the end, it got REALLY hot, so it was nice to go outside to the patio or sit in the  multiple chairs in the back of the room. Or my friends and i would just sit with our faces to the big fan near the stage, hahah. It was so nice to see the lgbt community dance together and be open with who they were. You dont see that a lot.

overall, it was a pretty good night, maybe i just wasnt buzzed enough. next time i'll probably wear shorter heels (mine were killing me!!!) and pregame before we go in hahah.

Oh my glob. I don't think I can ever do this again.

Let me start off by saying the the club is definitely not my preferred place of spending my Friday nights. I'm more of your scrabble playing, super smash bros. brawl fighting, guild wars 2 exploring hero than your typical club scene druggy. I swear to god, half these people here were on something. Which is a little weird, because most of the kids here are definitely under 21. (They'll differentiate you and the youngins with wristbands) If you don't mind your personal space being occupied by random extra "friendly" strangers, then by all means. And oh boy, there are so many hot messes here to meet...tbh, they are quite entertaining to watch. But when some of them start to get touchy, that's where sweat starts dripping down my forehead.

But hey, if you are a constant clubber, this place isn't so bad. Free water (I love water) by the nostalgic high school gym dance floor is such a big plus. I spent a good portion of the night sitting at the tables drinking cup after cup as I watch the crazy amount of grindfests. In the small amount of time I was actually pulling out super duper dance moves on the floor, some one kept groping my ass! WHAT THE HELL?! Every time I turned around, the rapist was nowhere to be seen. Then I turn around again, and bam it happens again. /scarredforlife

There is a bar and outside patio ish area if you want to take a break from the floor. Didn't spend much time in the bar (I don't really drink), and the outside area is pretty much filled with smoke. Sigh.

Music was alright, and there was a decent dance performance as well. They even have somewhat  attractive gogo dancers lol. A high five goes to the dj for playing Gangnam Style! Even though my group of friends were one of the few ones actually dancing the actual routine...

Despite being a first and probable last time experience for me, FUZ is a seemingly safe and nice place for LGBT kiddies to meet up and connect. (Not to mention It's the only LGBT club in the area)
