Super cozy and romantic spot to kick back and enjoy some wine. Well, for the back room that is. There's really only 3 sections to sit and apparently, this place can get pretty busy. All 3 are nicely separated so you can still have a sense of privacy. The front room has a couple couches and the bar but it's not as dark.
We showed up around 9PM-9:30PM on a Saturday and were able to score a corner section. By 10:30PM-ish, more and more people started to show up so of course you lose that romantic feel.
Wines get rotated around here since they only purchase in small lots. We tried the Matanza Creek Merlot which was nice. They don't carry a lot of Cabs since most of those are bigger wines. They aim to carry wines that are easier to drink without full on dinners.
I'd definitely come back.
TIP: Come early to grab a place to sit in the back.
Cozy, sofa-filled, dimly-lit, two-roomed place with great wines. It's open a bit later than other places along University Ave on weeknights. It's both romantic and good for groups, however it's a bit hard to find space for bigger groups on friday/saturday nights... there was some furniture stealing on my behalf during my last visit...
Review Source:Awesome place! I'm so addicted to the coziness and the friendliness of the staff. It's a fabulous place to go to with a large group or go alone and see who you meet and strike up  a conversation with. There variety of white and red wines seems endless and you can purchase them by the glass or by the bottle. I prefer the whites usually a chardonnay or rinsing. (red wines stain my teeth.) You can also get appetizers as well. They have an assorted cheese plate that is served with crackers which I've had twice, but the smoked salmon plate is the one I ALWAYS get. The noise level is fairly moderate; it's not like a club where you have to yell over loud music to speak to someone. Hate places like that.
