The Oasis

Excellent burger and fries.  Good atmosphere.  The bartender seemed to have a lot of other things to do and was slow.

Prices are fairly steep as two burgers, fries, and beers came to around $40.

I was in the area on business and decided Id try a local place for dinner and saw the Oasis online.

I walked in about 8 o clock on a Thursday night and the place was very crowded which I took as a good sign. I waited in line for about 20 minutes which seemed to move at a snail's pace. There was probably 15 people ahead of me in line.

I finally get to the counter and the lady taking the order was really unpleasant. she took the order of the guy in front of me, and I walked up to the counter and waited for her to acknowledge me for a full minute. I ordered a double cheeseburger and onion rings and a microbrew beer. Seemed a little expensive ($17+ for the 3 things mentioned) but not shockingly so. The order-taker maybe said ten words to me and handed me my receipt. I asked if she was going to get my beer and she simply pointed to the bar... ok...?

i walked to the bar and waited another 5 minutes for the 2 bartenders to serve the 2 people ahead of me. finally they got me my beer after walking around ignoring me for a few minutes doing god-knows-what else. I told them I paid for a beer at the food counter and they got me my beer no questions asked. seemed kinda strange

i sat down at the bar and listened to the bartender talk about to some older customers (his friends I guess) about how he got some bad Yelp reviews and how the owners were getting onto him about it.... he spent about 10 minutes griping about this. unfortunately for him, I kind of agreed with the Yelp reviewers so far.

got my food relatively quickly. the burger was ok. the meat seemed like pre-formed patties and the burger had sweet relish on it for some reason...... the onion rings were fine but unspectacular. im guessing they were frozen onion rings but wouldnt swear to it. i saw some of the pizzas they were serving as well, and they looked pretty weak although I cant attest to how they taste.

the place itself is loud and kind of dark but not too bad. I dont mind dives and this place has kind of a dive feel to it. the patio seemed nice but small.

overall, i was disappointed. the customer service from the 2 of the 3 people i dealt with (the lady bartender seemed nice to me) was lacking. the food was expensive and not that good. Id much rather have eaten In'N Out.    I wouldnt go back.

We came to this place for a staff lunch.

Nothing special....and the staff wasn't to helpful.

I waited over 20 minutes for a burger that they forgot to even start cooking.

Won't be going back....if you're into this type of scene/food, you're better off going to Jakes in Sunnyvale or Saratoga.
