  The best carribbean food ever!. OMG, you must stop by and try them

  This is truly a hidden gem on the south side of Chicago..King Drive just south of 79th Street. This very unassuming little place is packing some big punches on the inside. First of all, it is the best jerk chicken I have ever had that was not in Jamaica! The Bay is a well kept secret, and for awhile the phone number was not even listed. It would not be a place you would know was there unless you stumbled on it by accident because most people driving down King Drive are driving too fast to notice anything. I found this great little place because I was invited there for a wedding reception! YES, a wedding reception! They have the greatest little backyard that you have ever seen that looks like a page right out of the caribbean complete with lights, reggae music, and open pit. I wish my bday was in the summertime because I would rent their backyard and throw a serious party! Now back to the food....like I said, best jerk chicken, best cabbage, best mac and cheese, best turkey lasagna, best jerk fish in the Chicago area. PLEASE visit The Bay. Even some south-siders don't know about it unless they stumble on it in some way like I did. They even have a parking lot! Don't let the outside looks of the place scare you. Although they have a dining room, it's carryout only, except on Sundays, but that may be changing after their renovations are complete. The food is worth the trip to the south side. And if you need a good summertime outdoor party spot, ask to see their backyard. You won't believe your eyes. During renovations, they added a juice bar to the dining area and a stage in the backyard. Love this place! For carryout, call ahead, service is slow! But the food is worth the wait.

  The best place for your jerk chicken fix.
  
  This is a little gem located on the far south side. I have visited this place for a little over 4 years. The food is quite delicious. I have tried the jerk catfish, (which is oh so yummy!) to the jerk chicken. The chicken is the best I have ever had. Tender, moist and well seasoned. I love the cabbage. A little spicy and seasoned. (love spicy foods)
  
  The reason for the 4 stars is because their slow. I don't mean slow, I mean SLOOOOOOOW. It's takes 30 minutes to get the food you ordered. I must say though, trying other places and getting my food right away compared to waiting for quality, I would wait any day. You will not be disappointed but I recommend calling in your order.
