Man! I'm disappointed. The first time I ordered for delivery, the pizza was great! Unfortunately the most recent time, the delivery took forever and the pizza was not good. In fact, it tasted better the next day after I put it in the oven. It was doughy and just not right. The thing is, there are so many options of places to go that are so cheap. Bennys is reasonable, but Sarpinos and a few others offer free delivery, and a $10 lg 1 topping pizza. So why in the hell would I pay 18 dollars for a lg 1 topping pizza that sometimes takes forever and doesn't taste great? Also how can you screw up something that contains basically four ingredients: Crust, cheese, sauce, and pepperoni! Â If I was in the pizza making business I would be looking for ways to be more competitive. I'll go on a rant about pizza in the south loop now- there isn't really a great place to get it. Sure, you could spend 30 bucks at Connies but that's ridiculous! Every time I go there it's so expensive. Pizza shouldn't be priced the same as a f*cking filet mignon dudes!
Review Source:Benny's has seen its better days... I grew up eating Benny's Pizza... and i have been away for awhile, i came back home expecting what I had always loved about Benny's and to my surprise it wasn't the same.
I think they are cutting back costs and not using premium products... its a shame! I still visit Benny's as a last resort cause they are cheep and open late ad very fast! but I am no longer a dedicated regular.
WHERE DID MY BENNY'S GO????
As a group of  us prepared to watch the fight on Saturday night, the only other thing on our mind was what we were going to eat. Of course the typical delivery food item that everyone thinks of is PIZZA!  Due to my inconvenient dairy allergy I always have to opt for something else on the menu. I decided to try out their Beef sandwich.  When I unpacked my very much anticipated dipped beef, I was disappointed to find the beef drenched in melted mozzarella cheese.  After pulling out the melted cheese, I was left with a skinny beef and holes in my bread.  Perhaps it has been a very long time since I've had a beef sandwich, but I never recalled it coming with cheese.  Although I accepted my cheesy beef, I was further disappointed at how salty the meat was.  I was super hungry so I still devoured the thing.  Next time I guess i will just eat from the pizza and scrape off the cheese- same difference.
Review Source:I've been sitting here trying to start this review like its my life's work. You know why, because I stand true to Benny's. Benny's is absolutely the best. Yes the crust is hard, and no there aint none seasonings. Neither of these things are problematic while eating a slice, and when you mix it with a 40 of your favorite Malt, you've got yourself a good night ahead of you. Also, if youre not drinking, they have squirt, which is like Carl's Jr. Anything that's like Carl's Jr. is good in my book.
Benny's other menu items are also delicious. They make hot dogs. I would compare the hot dogs to buying something from a dollar store. Its cheaper, and there isn't as many doo-dads, but its good. And i'm pretty sure vienna beef, and fries are free, and they have Squirt.
Deep fried mushrooms with a side of ranch is also a delectable menu option.
The italian beef is up to par. You can put cheese on it for to be even better.
The ambiance at Benny's is also quite mouthwatering. There are wonderful enlarged foodstuffs painted on the walls and an epic mural outside of the establishment portraying what I can only assume to be the Central American mountain range where the Aztecan gods lay the food for Benny's. The man in the mural then hand delivers this food, cutting out the middle man, and Benny's, quite like furniture liquidators, passes the savings along to you.
I have been looking for good old cheesy pizza forever, and even living in Little Italy, I have been unable to find it. Â A cop recommended this place to me (they know their stuff regarding food places) and he was right. Â It's a good pizza, very good pepperoni. Â We had it delivered and they were quick. Â It's not gourmet or anything but it definitely hit the spot.
Review Source:Any place that is open late & accepts credit cards is ultimately A-OK in my book... Their pizza is pretty damn good and a good value in today's economy, however I am especially fond of their oven-roasted Italian beef sandwich... Adding red sauce and mozzarella to this sandwich will only result in a much-satisfied stomach...
Great prices, fast service and close to the crib... That's all this hungry man needs.
This place is really nothing to write home about, but they take credit cards and they're open late. Pretty cheap too. Â
The pizza is decent if you order a whole pie, but the slices alone are inferior. The burger isn't bad and the fries are nice and crispy. They always seem to change the style of fries they serve, which is weird. They should just stick to the crinkle-cut.
It's mediocre @ best. Don't be fooled by the menu you take with you the prices don't reflect what they have in the restaurant. The staff are of the short yellow bus type. We ordered  2 Shrimp baskets, 2 Dbl Cheese Burgers, 1 Italian Beef, A family size half and half, ex.fries, mozz sticks and onion ring's got 1 Shrimp Basket, 2 CHEESE BURGERS (Not 2 Doubles) The Italian, the fries, the pizza, the rings and the stick's. They had the order as 1 shrimp basket, 3 cheese burgers??? WTF!!! Then when we called back to get the food we didn't receive we were getting charged an additional 8 BUCKS!!!! on top of the 48 I had already paid...yeah not so cheap is it even if it was delivery, 10 years ago my girl said this place had good food...now it's over priced and crappy. Stale rings, sticks and freezer burned shrimp...YUM!!
Review Source:I usually order a sausage, pepperoni, & mushroom pizza and I've yet to be disappointed.
If you ask for extra cheese, they bake it longer which makes the cheese extra tasty 'cause it's golden brown.
What's nice (and convenient) is that they take your credit card over the phone so you don't have to worry about gathering up cash.
Forget Pizza Nova, this is the best pizza in Pilsen.
Since Chubby's lost their lease, Benny's is our new pizza standby when I'm visiting the girl. It's about like Chubby's but not quite as good somehow. It's your typical run-it-through-the-dough-sheeter-till-it's-round-Âand-has-cracker-consistency kind of Chicago thin-crust. Nothing to die for, but good, cheap, quick, and near my girlfriend's place. I hesitate to give this kind of pizza four stars, but the people there haven't done anything wrong so why not?
I recommend dining in or picking it up (if you live nearby). The closer you eat it to just-out-of-the-oven, the better.
What makes this place good are tactical considerations rather than the food itself. Â Consider:
- They take credit cards
- Open late
- Liquor store nearby
- Pizza by the slice
- It's cheap!
Yeah, the pizza is greasy, but sometimes that's okay. Â One other thing: the guy behind the counter is always super friendly.
The pizza is decent but nothing too exciting. Â Here's my list of the perks of Benny's in no particular order.
1. They have pizza by the slice which is perfect for those nights that you've spent eating an unseemly amount of tortilla chips and guac while watching Top Model and suddenly realize at 10pm that you haven't eaten dinner.
2. It's only a couple doors away and I always wonder if someday I'll test the patience of the delivery guys and show my true laziness by ordering delivery. Â
3. They have a mural of an Aztec sacrifice on the wall. Â
4. It is pretty affordable.
Man. If you love greasey... and not just a little bit a grease... GREASEY fried heart attack food... this place is JUST for you! And me.
I love their italian beefs with mozza! They put sooo much cheese on and their hot peppers are to die for.
Their pizza is filling and cheesey! Burgers are... burger like. And their fries are hot and salty. Just do it.
