Why don't I go here more often?! Â I forget about it, but that is no excuse! Â They make fantastic sandwiches - probably best around!
Every time I go I get the Z-Ville melt. It is so good, I can't bring myself to order anything else. Luckily I've tasted other things thanks to dining companions. Â And it was all great!
The Z-ville ($7.99) has moist shaved turkey, sweet ham, bacon, tomato, lettuce and a special sauce on tasty sourdough bread. Pure heaven!
I think they serve breakfast all day, too.
It is a quirky, cute, messy, mix of stuff inside. Â I woudn't change a thing! Â And locally owned, to boot! Â Drop everything and get here (before 2pm weekdays and 1pm weekends)!
The old saying, "you get what you pay for" is absolutely correct here. Except in a positive way! Dave has always delivered HUGE quantities of food at a very reasonable price. Doreen, Abby, and Martin are always pleasant also. It is great to walk in to a place where you know the entire staff by name and they know "you" by name!
My personal favorite breakfast options are:
1. Taylor Pork Egg & Cheese on Wheat (excellent tasting meat, great for a quick on the go sandwich)
2. Skillet Breakfast (Eggs, bacon, hash browns, tomatoes, & cheese. Enough to feed My wife, daughter, and I for around $8)
My personal favorite lunch options are:
1. Zville Melt (awesome, awesome sandwich served on a hoagie sub, with turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and a special sauce. WARNING: extremely filling!)
2. Steakburger (puts steak-n-shake to shame!)
Needless to say, this is a staple in the Zionsville community and we will be coming back for sure!
Yes they have good muffins but they are a very good deli and an even better butcher. The servings are very generous from the deli. They have hot and cold food. Breakfast is very good as Is lunch. The best part of Dave's other than the staff is the butcher shop. The meat and poultry are very fresh and the price you can't beat. By far the best quality I know of in town and they cut it right there in front of you. You know what your getting.
I can say you won't be disappointed when you eat at Dave's Deli or do your shopping at Dave's Meats.
What can I say other than this place has the silliest name for a place that I would rank as having probably THE BEST muffins anywhere in town. Maybe anywhere in the state. Maybe anywhere. Period.
First of all, the muffins you get at Big Dave's are HUGE. Two (or even three) people could share these. But that's not that unheard of ... we're a nation of overeaters and supersized everything. Even muffins.
But these muffins are unique and tasty and moist and delishhhhuss. So delicious it deserves its own word to describe it. Delishhhhuss.
Orange muffins and raspberry muffins are to die for.
Stop in. Get some meat. Get a sandwich, even. But do NOT pass up the muffins.
Yeah. I'm telling you to go to Big Dave's for the muffins. You should feel lucky I'm even sharing this. I could buy them all myself.
