I've eaten here a few times as I travel regularly for business. This restaurant is about average for an airport restaurant but I bought the French Dip today and it was a joke. Four thin slices of roast beef on a small roll $11.50. I understand its an airport restaurant but that's ridiculous. I was also charged $2.79 for sparkling water. What a joke. If you insist on eating here, have the stew, chili, or chowder. All are good and reasonably priced for their portions.
Review Source:I will give this place 3 stars as there is nothing that would warrant higher rating for my money. Â The restaurant is open seating so you can just find a place to sit and wait for someone to notice you, which in my case took more than 5 minutes which is an eternity in an airport. Â There doesn't seem to be any logic in how the servers help the seated guests but I was eventually greeted and helped by a very friendly server who was attentive the rest of my visit. Â I ordered the clam chowder which was actually outstanding; it was Ivar's clam chowder served in a small sourdough bowl. Â The portion size was small for the money so I ordered the french dip to top off the appetite. Â This was an average sandwich with swiss cheese and au jus with potato chips and cole slaw. Â I would have preferred the option to order french fries but no dice!! Â As for the bar they offer about 8 different beers on draft and have a full bar menu but the cocktails are probably watered down a little as I was able to drink 2 double vodka tonics and not even feel buzzed. Â For an airport eatery; you could do worse but I know you can also do a lot better.
Review Source:Ate lunch here while waiting for our plane back to San Antonio. We sat ourselves and were promptly greeted by a server who was very quick to bring out our drinks. My boyfriend ordered the Bushmen Beef Sandwich - a twist on the philly cheesesteak with roast beef, onions and peppers and swiss cheese on a kaiser roll. He said it was pretty good. I ordered Bigfoot's Hearty Chili made with House Beer and served in a Breadbowl, topped with sour cream, cheese and green onions - it was YUM. Probably one of the best airport meals I have ever had - awesome chili! And the breadbowl - sourdough delicious goodness. I ate everything! Haha. What I really liked about this restaurant is the level of service. Our waiter was quick to bring out our meal and the check - perfect for having to catch a flight! Thanks!
