Seriously one the best american new cuisine restaurants in Miami! Not only is the food great- but their service is on point. I'm not sure why more Miamians haven't discovered this great new spot yet. They also have an excellent happy hour featuring half off of EVERYTHING from the bar (even bottles of wine) and half off appetizers. We've had every appetizer there and surely the standouts are: the blue cheese fondue, crab cake sliders and the pork belly sliders. I've also had the burger there for dinner and it was amazing! And you must end your meal with their homemade chocolate chip cookies and milk. Their cookies have the perfect touch of salt on top to make them the heavenly pair for a cold glass of milk!
Must go back! And they have a great craft beer selection.
Had an amazing meal at Biscayne Tavern. Â Started with the kale salad, which had a great balance of flavors. Â Also had the pork shank and spaetzel. Â It was delicious. Â I also tried the shrimp and grits. Â I was sitting with friends that are from the South and they were raving about it. Â Delicious too! Â For dessert the best chocolate chip cookie ever! Â Service is attentive and friendly. Â Nice selection of beers and wines. Â Also a great location with plenty of parking in front.
Review Source:I visited Biscayne Tavern with friends recently to watch a Heat game. I'd never been before and found the space to be upscale but cozy, and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. We shared several glasses and then a bottle of wine at the bar along with the goat cheese stuffed dates and the eggplant fries. Both appetizers were delicious and our bar tender Lyndon was helpful, courteous, attentive and hilarious. I loved Biscayne Tavern so much i've decided to celebrate my birthday there and am looking forward to trying more of their delicious menu.
Review Source:We went here late Friday evening, and all in all it was a good experience. We ordered small plates (pork belly sliders and eggplant fries) which were more than enough for two (granted that we weren't very hungry). We were also lucky enough to try the swine candy, which I wholeheartedly recommend if you're not a diabetic.
Service was good - our server was attentive and helpful. If there was one down side, I'd have to say that it was the cocktail menu; all the drinks we had were just not up to par. Stick to their impressive beer selection or a standard mixed drink. Nonetheless, we'll be back before too long.
By the way - mad props to the B2 Hotel for turning that dump Riande into something that I'm not ashamed to be walking into.
Great place for drinks and a bite to eat! The place itself has great character in a perfect location. Nice beer selection. When they ran out of the summer ale we were having (our waiter forewarned us it was the last keg in south Florida) he recommended a belgin white ale that was even better.
Food, fantastic. We just picked from the Snacks portion of the menu and were completely satisfied. Eggplant fries, Blue Crab cake sliders, Crispy Gulf Shrimp Dynamite, Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates.. all delicious!
Both our server and the bartender had great personalities making for a great experience.
Certainly will be returning :)
A hidden gem in Downtown Miami, Biscayne Tavern is a rare find. Â There's not much visible signage unless you know where to look, but once you enter the doors of the B2 Hotel, know you've come to the right spot.
Whether it's for lunch, dinner, happy hour, or even to grab a drink at any given time, don't be surprised when the staff welcomes you with open arms. Â The menu is gastropub-style, and while there are small plates that can be shared, have no fear - they also have plenty of "I want my own!" entrees/sandwiches/salads to choose from.
I've been a couple times for lunch and happy hour and haven't been disappointed. My coworkers rave about the seafood cobb, and I've enjoyed everything I've tried (the seared tuna burger, the tavern burger, the fish & chips).
Prices are very reasonable, and if you make it for happy hour (Monday through Friday from 3-7pm), you can enjoy 1/2 price beers & cocktails and discounted bar bites.
If you don't work or live Downtown, parking may be a bit of a chore, though Bayside and its various parking options aren't a far walk.
Biscayne Tavern - your secret's out!
This is a menu created by someone who enjoys food and loves innovation. A great foodie spot with earthy tones and a Philly-vibe in the middle of downtown Miami. We started our meal with a great server, with a smile and great opinions on the menu and what we should try. The service was quick and pleasant as was the bartender. We ordered the goat cheese stuffed dates for appetizer and sweet jesus these were amazing. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits which, let me tell you, as someone who had AMAZING shrimp and grits in Charleston, the ones from Biscayne Tavern are far superior in every which way. We finished our meals with such a simple desert of cookies and milk but these cookies were not mere cookie, these are like the KING of all chocolate chip cookies. The perfect blend of sweet and salty with a cold creamy glass of milk to wash it down. I cannot wait to go back again and try more of their menu and just enjoy the chilled atmosphere in the least likely of places.
Review Source:Dined here last night for dinner with a group of friends and we had a wonderful time.
The service started out a bit slow but I'm pretty sure I felt that way because I was starving. Â Our waiter Keven, was really great...even though he's from Cleveland. Â :)
Keven was knowledgeable and honest about the food and beers. Â He really made our experience there a lot of fun.
We had the Fried Oysters (so-so), Shrimp Dynamite (amazing!) and the short rib sliders (only comes with two sliders...might be smart for them to add a 3rd one bc they are great) for appetizers. Â
For the main attraction, I had the shrimp & grits and they rocked my world! Â My fiance had the roast and it was so tender and full of flavor...fell right off the bone. Â The rest of our group was happy with their choices as well.
NOW, the homemade chocolate chip cookies made the dinner for us. Â Honestly, if you go there and don't get the cookies & milk...you're making the biggest mistake of your life! Â They are warm and gooey and they come with ice cold milk for dipping.
I will definitely go back to the Tavern, especially on game day.
I was here on a recent Saturday evening with 7 others to watch the NBA finals and to cheer on the Heat. I arrived and met one of the people in our party at the bar, he explained that they'd been sitting there but were just moved into a private room at the back of this bar/restaurant. Â The area they placed us in was perfect for us, and it'd probably be great for a small private group or even a business lunch or dinner where several were attending and you wanted to sit at one large table in a space that was intimate enough that you didn't need to shout across the table to the others in your group.
This private room worked well for us, as there's a large flat screen TV in there and we could be as loud and rowdy as we wanted to be without disturbing the other patrons, and there were just enough seats around the large wooden table to accommodate our group, while leaving the section nearest the TV open so everyone could see.
Aside from a few hiccups, the service was fine (when we initially ordered drinks, I was given something other than what I'd chosen; in one case we ordered drink refills from one of the guys who was delivering the food, and he seemed to serve them to us faster than our actual server had been, and in another case I ordered a drink from one of the delivery/bus staff, he brought it to me quickly, and then our server brought me another a few minutes later, not realizing the bus staff had already brought one. Once he realized the mistake, rather than discard it, he was quick to simply give me the extra "on the house").
The food itself ranged from very good to just OK. Â The homemade potato chips with blue cheese fondue sauce were very good, their "Crispy Gulf Shrimp Dynamite", which are a knockoff of PF Chang's' "Dynamite Shrimp" were good, but could've used a bit more heat/spice. I ordered a 1/2 rack of baby back ribs with "Miami Heat Sauce". Â Those were just OK IMO. Â The sauce had a bit of an odd taste, almost as if they tried to infuse the sauce with smoke flavoring, rather than simply smoking the ribs themselves. Â The meat on the ribs definitely wasn't falling off the bone. Â I also ordered sweet potato fries which were tasty, if not a bit too salty.
Prices were decent for what this place is. Â Though it's called a "tavern", this bar/restaurant is more upscale than the typical corner pub and the food is priced accordingly. Some of the presentations are a bit creative with lots of their side dishes such as the fries and shrimp being served in small galvanized pails. The 1/2 rack of ribs was $14 and all their "veggies and side orders" to go with their entrees (including my sweet potato fries) are priced at $6 each. Â Drink prices are about typical for most Miami area bars/restaurants - all but one of their drafts is priced at $6.
Besides some of the points mentioned above, one reason I didn't give Biscayne Tavern a higher rating is that, a the end of the day, it simply felt like a hotel bar/restaurant to me, not really a dining destination. Â The entrance to this bar is off the hotel lobby near the check-in desk for the B2 (formerly Continental) hotel, and when you need to use the restroom, you leave the Biscayne Tavern completely, walk through the hotel lobby, pass the front desk and you'll find the restrooms down a small hallway. Â As Marcos mentions in his review, if feels like a (hotel) sports bar, disguised as an eatery.
Good food. Good service. Went in and shared 3 apps and a salad with boyfriend and was overly full, so I'd get less next time but everything looks so good we couldn't decide! Had shrimp dynamite, goat cheese stuffed dates, kale ceasar salad and blue crab cake sliders. Will be back. I think the atmosphere is great, I love the addition to downtown.
Review Source:NOT EVEN SURE WHERE TO BEGIN!!!
As my wife and I are big foodies, it is tough to impress the both of us. We decided to enjoy a relaxing and casual dinner with a childhood friend of mine i haven't seen in years. As we live in Miami Beach, we wanted to try to stay near downtown where my friend was staying to make it convenient. When we looked online, I remember hearing about this place that opened and saw that it had some pretty good reviews.
First, the beers are tap are out of the world! I mean the ones in bottles and cans are great too, but lets be real; drinking a good beer from a nice cold tap; DELICIOUS!!!
Secondly, The Food!
Snacks & Sliders:
Eggplant Fries, Homemade Potato Chips with Blue Cheese Fondue, Crispy Gulf Shirmp Dynamite, and Pork Belly Sliders (Not one thing was bad, literally).
Main Plates
Shrimp & Sharp Cheddar Grits Tasso Ham, Scallions (Wow, I still taste it)
Spicy Baby Back Ribs "Miami Heat" bbq Sauce (perfect amount of spice and flavor)
Veggies & Sides
Bleu Cheese Smashed Potatoes (AMAZEBALLS)
Desserts
Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies that are absolutely to die for. you try to pick them up and they are so moist that they just fell off instead of having to actually break it. So rich and creamy...hmmm my mouth is watering just thinking about this.
Bourbon Bread Pudding
OMFG!!! As amazing as the Chocolate Chip Cookies were, i didn't think it could get better. I mean Bread Pudding is not an easy dish to make, but let me know tell you something; HATS OFF TO THE CHEF!!!
Speaking of Chef. He walked by and we asked to speak to him. We thanked him for one of the best meals we have had in quite some time and told him we would be there new frequent customer.
Oh yea, PS 3pm-7pm (we were there later than that) half off select menu items and select brews).
And PPS if you are a father looking for something casual to do for Father's Day, take your family over there, because we got to even try a special that i'm not going to talk about that is out of this world. I'm going to take a friends child just so I can go and have one myself!!!
After all this, living in Miami, where most things are expensive, the price is more than reasonable for the quality of food and service received. Pictures to come...
Thank you to the staff and management at Biscayne Tavern! You will start to see more of us, OFTEN!
It's easy to find great food in Miami. Â It's not so easy to find great food in downtown Miami that is open for dinner and on weekends. Â Biscayne Tavern offers a bright, modern and welcoming dining room with an exceptional menu and bar. Â My family has been three times in just the past few weeks, and everything we have ordered has been delicious. Â The service is friending and attentive (a rarity in Miami), and the restaurant is even accommodating for our 1-year-old son. Â After just one visit to Biscayne Tavern, you'll want to become a regular, too!
Review Source:Great downtown bar that sprung up this year. Â Its in the lobby of the B2 Hotel on Biscayne, just opposite Bayside Park.
It's nice enough to take a date to, with it's full menu and modern a warm setting. Â You can also go to hang with your friends to catch a game as they have plenty of flatscreens.
I guess it's a sports bar disguised(very well, I might add) as a romantic eatery.
The food is good, 3.5 stars and the service is up there to match. Â The atmosphere is very comfortable. Â I've gone to catch a Heat game there and I'll be back again very soon.
Nice ambiance. Â Located in the heart of downtown Miami, right across from Bayfront park, and the American Airlines Arena. Â It's a small place, but big enough to feel comfortable. Â The appetizers are awesome. Â The short rib sliders are a must. Â For the entree', I had the tavern burger, and chicken-grill chesse melt *It was a special order item; I'm waiting for them to name it after me!*. Â Both meals were awesome. Â
The french fries were good...not soggy. Â BUT...the BEST of them all..is the dessert..the chocolate..chip...cookies. Â There's no need to look any further..these are hands down the BEST dessert I've had in a while. Â It tastes like the chef made it with love! ha! Â They also have a pretty good craft beer selection, if that's your thing. Â The staff was friendly, and there's lot of TV's to watch the game on...so check it out.
It's in it's teenage years of restaurant growth; nice, good, but it's still learning how to cope with it's growing pains.
The night we went was unfortunately when their AC kicked out. The staff was very understanding of this and provided our entire party with a free drink voucher for the inconvenience.
Their selection of beer was standard with some local twists from Boyton Beach and Jupiter, FL. The mixed drinks were on the pricey side but I cannot attest to the quality- however, the high price mimics the area where the restaurant rooted itself.
The food on the other hand...Braised Pork Shank...$22 is a deal for the amount of food you get. It's huge and the accompanied spaetzle takes up any room in your stomach that the pork did not fill.
The 7 Layer Chocolate cake was good. It was moist, but there were no fireworks going off across the street in Bayfront from any unique qualities or flavors- a good middle of the road cake.
Like I said, it's  growing through it's adolescence phase but still good.
Nice new Tavern in downtown Miami, oh yes! Â They are part of the China Grill group so as soon as I heard that we just had to go check it out. Â Even nicer that we can walk there from our condo. Â Inside the newly renovated B2 Hotel, the inside of the tavern is dark, wood tones throughout, classy tavern I must say. Â They have a bar as soon as you walk in then tables throughout the dining area. Â It is not big at all, very comfy.
When we arrived and sat down at a table in front of plenty TVs to watch the Heat game we were struck by how hot it was in there. Â Our server told us the AC was broke. We almost left because it truly was unbearable but finally a server opened the side door and we got a nice breeze come in. Â We decided to stay and stick it out.
Our first impression started off very bad, first with the AC, next I ordered a bottle of wine and about 15 minutes later a bus boy brought out the wrong bottle. Â Funny thing is the wine he brought out was not even on the menu. LOL Â Then about 10 minutes after that our server came over apologized and asked me what bottle for the fourth time. Â She was not the sharpest tool, that is for sure. My husband was looking at me like WTH??
Now things start to get much much better, we start to order food. Â The menu is not large, they have some craft beers, cocktails and wines. Â Then they have daily specials seven days a week. Â We start with calamari with a dill sauce and homemade chips with a bleu cheese dip. Â I was not a fan of the calamari, they were very chewy. Â Now the chips, OMG they were pure heaven. Â Light, huge chips with such great flavor and the cheese sauce was amazing. Â I just kept eating and eating them, they were excellent.
Our server started warming up and I started liking her, she just was kind of cold at first and not very friendly. Hubby then ordered the dynamite shrimp and their Sunday special for us to share. Â Rigatoni with Sunday gravy. Â I almost laughed, a tavern and we are gonna order pasta. Â Here is where you know they are part of China Grill, their food tells a story and a great one at that.
The Sunday gravy came in a black pot filled with Rigatoni, Italian Sausage and a huge meatball with gravy.  They also add a braised short rib which I think they could leave that out.  It was good  just did not pair right with this awesome dish. I had no clue what my palate was about to try.  First bite like a vamp craving blood, chomp chomp, yum, yum, the gravy was more of a fra diavlo, spicy perfection sauce.  WOW, were we both blown away on just how good this dish was.  The dynamite shrimp were also excellent but we just kept eating the pasta.  We were so full we took the shrimp and the rest of the pasta home.  Good size portions.  The next day I could not wait to have some more and it was just as good warmed up.  The sausage and meatball were just as excellent as the gravy.
Mondays they have liver and onions and each day a different special. Â I can not wait to go back on Sunday for some more of that Sunday Gravy. Â Loved the vibe of this place, great place to watch a game, have a few drinks with friends. Â And the best part their awesome food. Â Also, that night the very young manager lady did stop by our table to check on us throughout the evening and she was very sweet.
Service turned out to be good just started off on the wrong foot.
LOVE this new tavern!
Great new addition to downtown Miami dining. In the renovated Continental Hotel (now b2 Hotel), the Tavern has beautiful decor, ok beer selection, excellent eats, and a very friendly staff that is clearly eager to build a regular clientele. As a downtown denizen, I'm happy to oblige.
Met my wife there for lunch, and I loved the prime rib sandwich with a side salad; her mussels order was huge. I'm most excited, though, about going back for 3-7 happy hour with 1/2 price beer and snacks (crab cake sliders, dynamite shrimp, spare rib sliders, etc).
I have found a new place go for dinner before a Heat game. Delicious beers and much better bar food  than what you would expect to find in a sports bar. The tuna burger will be my " go to" choice. I was impressed that they serve healthy sides like brussel sprouts and sauted spinach with garlic. That convinced me that they are smart enough to want to satisfy everyone. They have huge flat screen televisions within close range of every table. I left satisfied and happy.
Review Source:Ok, so after my 100th millionth visit  (yes, I am exaggerating) to this place, I have discovered my new nemesis: Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates! All I can say is, "party in my mouth!!" Try pairing with a few amazing glasses of wine and your date will be hitting the high notes before midnight, sans the little blue pill. Trust and Believe.  ;)
Review Source:One thing I noticed in Miami was that service is not up to par to LA or NY. Maybe it's the fact that gratuity is tacked on every bill, but during my stay in Miami, service felt like an afterthought. No one was ever overly friendly or welcoming. It was very odd, esp since I come from a city where servers work for their tip.
With that said, service at the Biscayne Tavern was the best I encountered during my visit in Miami. Since I was staying at B2, I had the opportunity to dine here for dinner and breakfast. The guys here were so attentive compared to other Miami servers, albeit on the quieter side. I noticed some things off, but they're new and they're trying, which is a plus in my books.
Dinner: SOLID! I would definitely revisit for the food alone. After vacationing iin the Dominican Republic for a week, I was craving something UH-Merican! The Tavern Burger with cheddar cheese fit the bill. I devoured my burger within seconds. It was so delicious: cooked perfect medium and seasoned beautifully. Couple it with skinny fries: perfection! Yes!! America!!! Â
The bf had the meatloaf which he thoroughly enjoyed. The blue cheese in the mash potatoes were out of this world!
Breakfast Buffet: B+ They had just the right amount of selections of breakfast favorites: eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, french toast, fruits, pastries, and etc.
Biscayne Tavern is my kind of place: craft beers, good selection of wine, delicious food and a sleek and sexy decor. I hope it does well in the years to come!
This place just opened right across from Bayside. The decor is great, upscale but not ostentatious, waiters and the rest of the staff was amazing, very casual but very professional. I was there for lunch, we were a group of 4 and all 4 dishes were delicious and beautifully presented.
Loved the appetizer made with dates wrapped in bacon, hmm! Great craft beer selection too! I will be coming back soon.
