Bistro Blanc

Loved the pig and fig and the strawberry rhubarb crisp with LAVENDER ice cream. Caesar was a bust, and the duck cooked medium was tough. Some hits and some misses. Service was marginal. When told "thursday is ladies night and one cocktail is complimentary", was still charged for the $8 drink. Had to request it discounted properly. Embarrassing and totally unprofessional.  Concept is great. Will be back.

Excellent service, delicious food, just a great restaurant.  The only thing keeping this from a fifth star in my book is the place is crazy expensive and portions rather small--but great for a special occasion.

My wife and I are getting addicted to this place.  Thank goodness it's about half an hour away or we'd be there more often.  The food is first-rate, the atmosphere very nice and the prices reasonable.  Love the Fladgate tawny port flight at the end, though by now, unless we bring friends or family for the first time, we skip right to the 40-year.  The service is fine though I can understand some feeling it's a bit too casual or the kitchen slow.  Personally, we like a more European style approach to dinner, i.e., you get there and the table is yours.  Relax and enjoy!  As for the kitchen, I'd rather relax with my wine and wife while they take time to get the food right.  Why not five stars?  We love this place but no one's perfect!
