I usually come here for happy hour and as a last-minute-resort-that's-close-to-home-dinner-with-friends. Came here yesterday for my gf's birthday dinner around 5pm in 90+ degree heat and found that some of their A/C units were down and where did they stick the birthday girl & party?! When I arrived- the front and bar areas of the restaurant were cool but as I walked further back-It got hotter and HOTTER.
That's where I found birthday girl. In A CORNER HIGH BACKED BOOTH Where there was no A/C! and they were still sitting people back there...C'mon Black Angus! Shame on you.
I was sweating. I was like Seriously right now?! IT's HOT!  We need to move. We asked to be seated somewhere/ANYWHERE Cooler & the server was nice enough to put some tables together next to the fans. Not bad but that should have done in hindsight without patrons having to ask.

The food is decent enough put it between a Denny's and a regular steakhouse. This is not Vic Stewart's or Ruth's Chris and rightfully so since their pricing is a lot lower than the aforementioned. The service and food is 3 to 3 1/2 stars. The experience with no A/C=0 stars.

Still my go-to for happy hour but I'm not sure how I feel about this place now.

If you go to the place, don't order the Prime Rib or the ribeye because at least half of each steak was fat. The mgr came by and offered us a free dessert which was a disappointment since our dinner was $54.00. The waitress was slow and was pushy to want us to add drinks etc to our tab.
Sizzler has better quality and friendlier workers.

I was actually fairly impressed with this Black Angus. I'm not saying that it's the same experience you would get going to a $$$$ Steak House, but for $$, this is really, really good.

My Mother had lobster and filet mignon for our father's day meal and we were all surprised out how huge her lobster tail was.

I had filet mignon for the first time with blue cheese and mushrooms. I was concerned that the blue cheese would overpower the flavor but it's very light. Even people who don't like blue cheese would probably be ok with it. Both of our steaks were a delicious medium.

My Dad got the 16 oz rib-eye and he loved it. He ate half then and another half the next day. The flavor of their original steaks is delicious! I must admit I added a little salt to my own. Dad got his medium-well and he was happy with it.

My husband had the pesto salmon and that was probably the best thing I tried that day, believe it or not! The skin was so crispy and the flavor was perfect.

I was really surprised by the au gratin potatoes. I detest them normally, which is sad for me because I like cheese and potatoes and it should be the perfect combination. Dad's au gratin potatoes were very different. It was peppery and cheese but not in a saucey way and it had sort of a crumble on top. I loved them. He did, too. But this is certainly not a traditional au gratin.

He had me try a bite of his potato soup. You could taste the bacon flavor in the soup. Interesting!

My husband split my caesar salad with me. It was ok. My mother liked her garden salad but said it was nothing special. The portions were very large, though.

My husband also tried the seasonal apsaragus. I like my asparagus on the soft side, so the tips were perfect but the ends were a little too crunchy for me. Same for hubby. That's my only complaint. Good flavor.

The garlic mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection. Yumyumyum. We both got those.

My Mother tried the loaded baked potato. It was exactly what you'd expect. Still huge, though! Everything here is huge.

We also tried a few drinks since it was a special occasion (father's day). Dad had the raspberry lemon drop and just didn't care for it. The waitress talked him into it after saying the sweet blackberry tea was REALLY sweet, and it just didn't end up being my Dad's thing. I thought it was okay.

I had the Kahlua Colada. I think it would've tasted better without the pineapple juice. It was a little jarring.

My mother had the Square Cow. It tasted like an alcoholic fruit punch. The liquors were really well covered, though, so if you're not into the taste of alcohol, this would probably good.

I would just avoid the drinks here, though. Or maybe we had a bad sampling.
