Great Food, Great Service, and Great Beer all for a reasonable price.

This is a great local place in the middle of a slew of fast food and chain places.  I was extremely impressed with everything.  The place was not packed for dinner or lunch when I went back the next day but there were a fair amount of people.  The servers were extremely friendly and no more than a minute after sitting down I had three samples of their in-house beer.  I also ended up chatting with one of their cooks who was there on his day off (that typically says something about a place).

The Owner brews all their beers (about 12 handles) and they have two other handles from local breweries in the area.  Each beer has its characteristic and IBU rating on the menu and they are delicious.  Not to mention they are $3.75 a pint (I have a hard time finding a pint of Miller Lite that cheap in Chicago).

The food was terrific as well.  Almost entirely made in house by actual chefs (culinary school experience).  They offer small, medium, and large plates.

Chorizo Stuffed Peppadew Peppers with Goat Cheese
Terriyaki Meatballs
Herb Tossed Fries with Peppadew Aioli (A Must Have)
I also had about 6 different pints of beer and loved all of them especially Scottish and Quad.  They also offer a delicious cask beer.

My Lunch:
Corned Beef Reuben (A must have, corned beef made in house)
Truffle Oil and Parmesan Tossed Fries with Sun Dried Tomato Aioli

Can't believe it took me so long to find this place! Great food, exceptional service and cheap! First on my list when I'm back in Ind son!

I cant comment on the food or the beer......In February 2013 Our son was visitng from college and we thought we would try the Black Swan before he headed back to school.When we entered the building a sign said"seat yourself"- we did.  We watched a young man dressed in black apparently the only waiter on the floor zip from aprx 4 tables to another.  We watch a woman clean tables. 10 minutes in-NO acknowledgment of us having entered.  Waited 5 more minutes and I went up and got the menus so we could be deciding. Suddenly 4 more wait staff enter 3 head to the bar, one takes another persons order and then cleans the table behind us. again , no acknowledgement.  A simple, " Someone will be with you to take your order." or "May I bring you a drink?" 5 more minutes, we looked at each and agreed it was BEYOND time to leave.  Sad really, we are a local family and strive to give Mom and Pop resturants our business. We will not bother again.
