First, CASH ONLY!!!! AN ATM is conveniently located at bank directly across street. I wish they took cards but they don't so be prepared.

Retro 50's owner, Debbie, opened this adorable 50's diner just 6 weeks ago. It is located on Vine Street just a few steps off Main. The diner is extremely small but quaint with an excellent menu, wonderful service and great food.  A 50's diner-counter adds to the authenticity or select a table in one of the two dining areas. The décor stays in character with the name with hanging 45's from the ceiling, black & white check flooring and table clothes, walls painted in pink and black stripes surrounded by 50's music legends decorating the walls. Love 50's music? They play continuously and a wonderful selection. They offer a list of daily specials along with a truly fresh and varied menu with 50's theme named categories.

All of the specials sounded delicious and hugely tempting especially with the enthusiasm and pride Star, our waitress, displayed while describing. I changed my mind several times but finally loved the idea of a homemade Chicken Paprikash. It consisted of a chicken leg and thigh (most flavorful part of chicken) with a creamy Paprikash sauce served over chicken and noodles. It was wonderful, filling and a nice comfort dinner that obvious took a great deal of time to prepare with such tender chicken. I would prefer skinless legs/thighs but easy enough to slide skin off. The Paprikash was served with a side of soup or salad and I chose the cabbage soup. It was tasty as well.

I plan on returning next week to try other items. Others were telling me the Lobster Grilled Cheese, Honey's Hani (breaded chicken tenderloin sandwich) and the Lobster Mac & Cheese is heaven. With the various selection of sandwiches, burger, hot dogs or comfort food of Pot Roast, Fish N Chips, Beef Stroganoff or Old Fashioned Meatloaf most anyone can find something to satisfy their palette. Be sure to try the homemade deserts or an old fashioned float or malt.

It's tiny place but with an owner who loves to please her customers with good food surrounded by warmhearted, genuine folks' and friendly staff.  Closed on weekends but come for lunch or an early dinner and give this place a try.
