Blackie's By The Sea

Very comfortable atmosphere, but a bit too crowded. Seems like more of a hangout for the older locals than for my party of out-of-towners. Only stayed for one drink, but would go back if in the area.

This is my favorite bar in the world. Those that turn their nose up at it don't understand the allure of this "dive bar". They have awesome bar tenders, cold beer, many TVs and a great local crowd.  I've been coming here for 20 years. Best bar in Newport, or anywhere for that matter.

Saturday on a 3 day weekend we walked in at 7:00 got a booth and finally go some service... it felt like only one guy was working the bar and the booths... so empty beer sitting and in need of a consistent refill... the bartender when I could get his attention was very nice... no food but they are okay with you bringing in a pizza from next door
