I love this place so much! Probably one of my top restaurant pics in Orange County! The food is always veeeeery good! The only coplaint I have is that I get the same waiter pretty much every time I go there and he isn't to lively or even really nice. He seems like he's just doing his job but not necessarily enjoying it. And sometimes there is music that I don't feel fits with the mood or theme of the restaurant. It's French themed and they'll be playing depressing songs or depressing versions of songs that arent sad and it kind of throws some off though makes for conversation. But overall, I can't get enough of this place!

We went to Brasserie Pascal to celebrate Mother's Day and the place was busy due to the holiday but that's no excuse to have bad service. As we walked in, the host was not paying attention talking to a co-worker. When the host finally noticed us, she said hold on one second as she finished up her conversation.

The food here was OK, we had several dishes. To start, we had the escargot and the charcuterie plate. The escargot was pretty good, baked with puff pastry, butter and herb. The charcuterie plate was like any other charcuterie plate I've had, can't really mess it up.

For main dishes, we ordered the filet mignon, thyme crusted sea bass, and braised rabbit. The filet mignon was about 8 ounces. It was pepper crusted with a wine reduction sauce. I ordered it medium rare but it came out medium well which is way over cooked for me. The sea bass was good, cooked perfectly so no complaints there. The rabbit was quite tender and served with couscous but the couscous was very salty.

For those that enjoy French restaurants typically enjoy a good soufflé. Soufflés take 30 minutes or so to make and it can't be made in advance due to it deflating. I've gone to many French restaurants that serve soufflés and every one of them tells you as you are ordering food that if you want the soufflé for dessert, it will need to be ordered in advance. The server at Brasserie Pascal did not, we didn't know they offered it until the dessert menu came out. We asked if we could order it and she said we can but it will take 30 minutes to make. We weren't going to wait another 30 minutes after having a mediocre meal.

This isn't a restaurant I would come back to and probably would give it a 1.5 star rating. For the price we paid, the food should have been better.
