If you have light-sensitive epilepsy, do not enter here. A beacon of blu sheds light onto a dimly lit Elm Street four nights a week. The list of drinks is not inexpensive, but IS extensive. VIP booths, bright and white line a light-sensitive rainbow colored wall, in an attempt to be trendy. The bathrooms are full of attempts to be trendy too. No attendant, but if you take a friend with you, she'll pass you a roll of toilet paper, I'm sure.
Review Source:I did not even know this South Beach"y" type bar was here. My buddy and I were walking by and on the other side of the street and we were like to moths to a flame as our feet carried us across the road and when we went in, we bellied up to the electrified bar top and had a nice clean gin and tonic with two limes and it was smooth and tasty. The vibe here is definitely more date like or talking to the opposite sex than two male friends hanging out for a drink before we passed our "curfews" on a week night. I will go back.
Review Source:I really likes the idea of what the blu martini is all about but I wasn't impressed with the dress code policy nor with how it was handle by the bouncer. But I returned because I like checking out new venues. The drinks are over priced, but they are very clean and decor is impressive. The few times I have went there wasn't many people with a little bit more work on the few things I mentioned it could by a top stop in our Greensboro downtown area.
Review Source:We have passed by this place on several occassions, and everytime I would say "that place looks so cool with all of the blue lights". Well it IS cool! We went on Thursday, and that is half-off martinis night.
When we arrived it was early, so there was no crowd at all. The decor is very cool and clubby. There are modern lights and mirrors everywhere. The wall has a streaming light pattern that runs all night.
Our waitress was super nice, and explained any questions that we had very nicely. She also had the cool look to match the club. (very "MAC girl")
The martinis are in the larger glasses, and they were SUPER delicious. I usually don't venture from my usual, but I tried a couple of drinks on the martini menu since they were half price. The white orchid was one of my favorites, and of course the cosmo!
There are plenty of oversized booths, and 2 lounge areas in the window facing Elm Street. We sat in one of the window areas and it was fabulous! You can reserve this area on weekends with a $500 bottle service minimum. (great for a birthday party)
There is a dress code on weekends, and there is sometimes a cover charge of $10 (but that really depends on the capacity/event). The waitress informed us that the crowd is usually 25 - 40 year olds.
The dance floor is small, but I assume it gets the job done on weekends! (I can't wait to see)
Sidenote: As the patrons came in later on through the night, I noticed that it is popular among the "alternative lifestyle folks". I'm really not 100% sure if this club is not geared towards alternate life, and the wall light does stream a rainbow. Who cares? - Great drinks, beautiful establishment and excellent customer service ! Just go with it !!
