On a slow day this is a cool wine shop/wine bar w/ a good selection & outdoor patio, the Tacqueria El Azteca food truck across the street, and a professional, knowledgeable staff with an appreciation of wine culture. Â Often they will amp it up with live music, wine tastings, and/or a food truck onsite.
Review Source:This has become a regular stop for us and we probably visit once per week on average.
PROS:
-The Staff: Joey and Allison are fantastic
-Wine Club: two levels with the top level being $29/month but so worth it
-Events:
-Wednesday wine tastings (free to members, $6 otherwise)
-$2 of wine by the glass on Tuesdays
  -Music on the weekends
-Events at Medaloni and Westbend Vineyards
-Location: near the Coliseum, Blind Tiger and UNCG
-Patio (when its not NC Hellacious Hot outside)
CONS:
-It can get busy (I guess that is a good problem to have!)
The Tasting Room isn't one of those mega-wine places. Â However, the selection is good with a broad range of prices. Â Good quality beer is also available. Â Joey and Allison go out their way to get to know you and make you welcome. Â Parking in the area can get tight but there is plenty of room in the lot behind the building. Â If your a wine person or just want a relaxing night sipping with friends and loved ones, I recommend you stop in.
My husband and I pulled into the parking lot purely on a whim. Â This place was so charming from the outside, we just wanted to check it out. Â We were warmly welcomed by who I assume is the owner and his mother, "Mama, everyone calls me Mama". Â We settled into the bar and with some consulation with our friendly bartender, ordered drinks. Â It's a very comfortable environment to relax and enjoy a drink;with two small drinking rooms and a really great outdoor patio. Â I commented to my husband, I feel like we are hanging out in someone's house. Â They have wine and beer, with a focus on wine, offered at reasonable prices. Â I don't know if they serve food since we were just enjoying drinks that evening. Â As the night got later, more and more people showed up and the patio was full by the time we left. Â I get the feeling the Tasting Room is still evolving, after being open for only ten months. Â But, I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
