Churchills is the ONLY cigar bar in the Triad. I was there on a Sunday night so there was not much going on. But, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The venue itself is very cool, it has the feel of a high end lounge.
The negatives are the location which is not in a great part of town with very limited parking. And, I have to say that I was SHOCKED that their cigar offerings are limited to a stand up display case which was only 30-40 percent filled. I later learned that they are basically buying cigars at retail to re-sell. The owner did say that they are taking steps to become a retailer/dealer of popular brands of cigars.
I look forward to going back on my next trip. I'll make a point of going on a busier night to enjoy some of the activity.
Great ambiance and even better staff and customer service. Classy and not too packed. It'll make a cigar smoker outta you. They are a laid back crew and willing to teach you about the finer and more important  things in life - Cigars & Fine Scotch/Whiskey
( Yeah, I know there are more important things in the world like the starving supermodels of Paris, but hey, we can only fix one thing at a time)
Churchill's is the one thing that makes going downtown worthwhile besides the theater. It has a very classy, upscale atmosphere, and they're good about keeping out riff-raff and getting drunks and bums walking by the outdoor area to move along. Patrons are generally nicely dressed and well-mannered, though there are always the lecherous middle-aged men hitting on 21-year-old women. Seating is a little scarce, though, and it's hard to get a table for 4 or 5 people. There are outdoor tables but you can barely hear the music outside. Restrooms are very nice. Coat check is just a self-service rack with hangers, so hang up expensive jackets at your own risk. They don't mind if you get up and dance but there's not a lot of room for it. For me, it's the perfect place to have a few drinks after a show or an event at the Empire Room.
