I think this place has potential. New, clean and huge! Some suggestions for the owners: I felt like I was in a Cat 5 hurricane with all 20 (I counted them) ceiling fans running at full speed. It was 70 degrees outside. The band I came to see started at 9:30 so I left before they even played a note. Really? This is a blues band for an older crowd some of who may have a life and a day job. Start the music at 8:00 or at most 8:30 and with 2 sets and a break they are playing until midnight or a little past. One more thing that multisided bar is great but with one bartender she can't handle a full crowd all the way around it. I saw the owner helping a bit but not enough to make a difference. Hope the owner reads this.
Review Source:Yeah, it's a shame that I am not allowed to put zero stars.
Came in on Saturday evening, and I've been here plenty of times, even prior to the second half of this bar opening.
It took me nearly half an hour to get an order in, not to say that the establishment wasn't busy, because it was...but not to busy enough, as the bartender was being a chatty Kathy with the entire bar.... not including our half obviously.
Being in the serving industry for years myself, a friendly "I'll be right with you", would have put me at ease.
I am opposed to just complaining though, afterall, they did get over a hundred dollars from my pocket, i stayed and tried to enjoy my time.
The decor is great, very open, very easy to hear yourself talk, the live band gigs, the layout, the entire bar itself has GREAT potential. Just seems like everyone stopped caring.
To the owners, hate me if you will, but seriously? One bartender on a Saturday night...in a town with 4 bars? 2 of which get busy as hell...yours being one of them.
Get a bar back who can not just pick up a glass, but refill it when asked. I rarely post anything on this site, and you will be hearing from me in person, as I believe in your bar... i truly do.
Best of luck
But as for now... 1 star.
There is something about The Blue Horse Lounge that will never sit right with me. It could be that it's in a strip mall, has no charm or history, it's way too fucking bright inside, the regular patrons look straight out of a shitty trailer park, or it could be that they only have Bud Light, Coors Light, and Blue Moon on tap. I kind of fucking hate this place.
But, it's close to my friends house and the bartender that works most times we go in is a real sweetheart. They have pool tourneys and on Monday nights I think they have free nachos or some shit like that.
Definitely wouldn't recommend coming here since every time I am asked to meet up with my friend there my response is "You have to be fucking kidding me asshole!"
It's a new bar so it's still a small crowd. It opened up right behind the chevron gas station in the corner of the plaza right before the 99. It's a really bright, clean place. They've got a juke box, two pool tables, and a few TVs. Bar tenders are nice, and they've got happy hour everyday from 4-7 pm and all day Monday, with monday night football. Over all it's pretty nice place to hang out!
