Bob Evans Restaurant

I think they really try...but then the tasteless meal came with dessert.  I asked for the ice cream sandwich ( bad choice ) it was handed to me!  Not only was it room temperature, it was old and tasted NASTY!  Nice folks but they need retraining or some sort of intervention...eat at your own risk.

Cold rainy night in Peoria.  We were hungry and didn't know where to eat...we've eaten at the Bob Evans chain before and had been pleased, so why not?  Well, this time it was a ho-hum experience.  I suppose I shouldn't expect much from a chain, but prior experience dictated that I was going to have a yummy meal and I didn't.  Maybe I shouldn't have strayed from the Pot Roast - I did - I had a burger.  It was just ok - the bacon was good though.  The fries were good.  I had iced tea - and when I asked for a refill, she gave me warm iced tea...I had to ask for ice.  no bueno.

My BF had a meal that came with dessert.  He chose the "chopped steak" which when it came looked just like the burger I was eating (hmmmm). So, for his dessert, he was told that they were out of ice cream for the sundae, which meant his choices were limited to cookies, or pay more for a slice of pie OR he could have an ice cream sandwich.  The waitress kind of kept referencing the great cookies - he should have ordered the cookies....he picked the ice cream sandwich - which looked like a refrozen, bottom of the box store bought sandwich - ew.  So I opted not to have any dessert.

Service was fine, our waitress was nice enough - but after my BF complained about the ice cream sandwich - she sort of revealed that yeah, it was a bad choice - DUDE, next time a lil help - tell us to stay away from those nasty ice cream sandwiches!!

So, our experience was not the best, but we survived, no tummy troubles.
