I only recently started working in RWC, and we took a friend out for his 22nd last night. After finding out no one in this city serves Guinness, we ended up at Bobby D's, which managed to craft some seriously strong car bombs to help us kick our friend into adulthood. Our bartender - I don't think I got her name, but she's only there Tuesday - was an excellent host and hilarious to boot.
Bobby D's is a little tough to spot, so it's a bit quiet, but honestly, I like it that way. I'm definitely going back, but I'm keeping this secret to myself. OK, I'll tell you, but pinky swear to keep it between us!
5 stars for Shannon and her good humor, one of the nicest bartenders I've met in RWC, that in itself is worth the 5 stars. Although the crowd can be a little "different" at times when it gets exceptionally late, as long as you come here with a good group of friends and a positive vibe you'll be okay. If you want great live music, this is your place. You won't find better music in any other bar in this town, I guarantee that.
Review Source:This place recently changed owners and boy what a difference. I went there about two years ago and didn't have a good time.  My friend dragged me there last week Friday for  a drink after the Friday free concert in downtown redwood City. Reluctantly I went mainly to use the facilities.  To my surprise it was fun.  Good energy and the two lady bartenders were great.  Very friendly in a professional way.  Music was also good. They played some good dancing music.  I will go there again.  I guess the moral of the story is first impressions are always the best.
Review Source:They have good bands on Friday nights. Â Redwood City hops on Friday nights during the summer. Â We started our TGIF night attending the Courthouse Square "free" concert. Â The place was packed. Â I suggest you get there early. Â I can't recommend a time because we typically get there around 6pm at the start of the concert. After the concert we went to Bobby D's. People are outside and inside and just hanging around. Â Real relaxed place. The bar is packed with people. Â They have some table seating next to the dance floor. Â Stage is small and intimate. Â Drinks are strong but not too expensive. The two female bartenders take care of business. They keep it going.
Review Source:Seems like a decent neighborhood bar. I stopped in mid-afternoon on a weekday and the bar, itself, was full of local types, mid-40ish. A very chipper bartender was working that poured generously. They have a large HD TV over the bar with sports on and a couple of smaller TVs at the end of the bars. Might be good for catching a game. They have a pool table that was empty, but looked well maintained. Juke box looked up to date. It's a bit of a dive bar, but definitely decent enough a quick stop in and happy hour specials were $3 well drinks and a discount for beers which I forget.
