Is this place still opened? Hasn't burned down yet?

My freshman year-- chalked ID's saying we were 28 & 29 years old, no problem! Come on in for 10$!  Jager bombs, labatts, tequila shots, no doors on the bathroom stalls, forget running water!  Rape room or err, dancefloor.  Lost my wallet and had to call my mom the next morning to cancel my card.  Get this--she was so pissed she came up to Albany and insisted I try to call the place and talk to the manager.... Um mom, that isn't exactly how Bogart's works..i dont think they have a phone and i doubt they even have a permit to be legally opened...sooo...

Sophmore yea--r this place turned into a weird hardcore rock scene and thats when I got a fake and I was too posh for that shithole anymore. Lark Street anyone Pinkies up!

Junior year-- my ladies and I lived three hourses down from Bogz and loved to watch the girls puke and sleep on the steps nearby as their male escorts tried to get cabs back uptown.

Four words :  Hole in the Wall. Even that is being too kind. Bouncers have a serious superiority complex and the only music they can seem to book there are lame DJ's.
Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

Holy shit, I had no idea that Bogie's was a hardcore venue at one point. That...is out of control. It makes me wish that I was older during the NYHC peak so I could have maybe come here.

Unfortunately, Bogie's has obviously transformed into a different beast. Sad really. You wait in line, a cop will be at the door along with a 275 pound, steroid enhanced bouncer checking ID's. Chalked, fake, real (but when you turn 21, you'll have no reason to come here)...you'll probably get in. The shots are cheap, but are always contained in plastic medicine measuring cups. It's dark, with blue-ish lights for an atmosphere perfect for date rape. The dance floor, probably where the old venue used to be, has mirrors all around making it easy for your average douchebag with a blowout to look at himself while gridding up on an 18-year old freshmen from Long Island.

Since I lived right around the corner, I would sometimes come here with my roommate and watch the madness. Around 2:30, some drunk guy would push another drunk guy's girlfriend and a fight would ensue. The bouncer would kick their crew out yelling at them to "respect the place" while the crowd moved to the corner of Madison and Ontario where a 100 person brawl would break out. Cops would come, stores closed, and drunk people pissed on my lawn. Morning comes and the guys hit the dining hall in preparation for another weekend night.
