This used to be my fav Rodizio in the area. Not sure what happened but the quality of the meat went down tremendously. Not sure if they have changed their meat suppliers but the last time I was here, the rodizio tasted differently and not in a good way. Will revisit to see if they have made any improvements.
Review Source:I have come to a realization perhaps a bit late in the game that I absolutely, 100%, without shame nor doubt ..... I completely adore, and somewhat IDOLIZE South American culture.
No, actually....Mexico and below. Â And the Caribbean - for sure.
I am enthralled by the many splendors of said cultures; here, in Northern NJ, we should thank our lucky stars, each and every day, that we are the home to a huge Brazilian population.
Sat at the bar - got a caipirinha - I got drunk, my lovely Brazilian bartender lady made it STIFF, when i inquired why so heavy on the booze....she said she thought I was Colombian, and Colombian girls love their drinks muy fuerte, or something....I was flattered!!!!...heres some hot Brazilian chick forcing me to get intoxicated by falsely assuming I was of Colombian descent, because apparently Colombian chicks are bad-asses. Â Word.
I had a very enjoyable time on this lovely evening in Newark with a few companions! Â The 100 other people who surrounded me seemed to concur. Â Oh, we did get Rodizio, not bad, not bad......Medium-ish skewered Filet Mignon is always a good choice.
This bar was vivacious, spicy....caliente, baby. Â (I know 0 Portuguese, so please, just amuse me...). Â Really, the patrons were fun - friendly - and super laid-back. Â Douchebag radar was not alerting me of any, in the immediate vicinity. Â As a side-note, I have also come to this conclusion as of late: the bars that suck the worst are the ones ones that are filled with life-sucking, zombi-fied, too-freaking-cool-for-school BUTTHEADS. Â Yeah, I said it. Â When you walk into this particular kind of bar, you are immediately greeted by a sea of ass-face. Â No-dice, son. Â Peace.
It was a Saturday night with the guys from the firehouse and we were looking to do an all out feast. A friend recommended this place as we were driving into Newark. I yelped this place and saw it got mixed reviews. I was very skeptical but since my friend experienced a great rodizio dinner in the past, I wanted to try it. Boy, was I glad we came to this spot. Great food, great service, and best of all, great atmosphere. The only reason for the 4 star is because I am basing this off of 1 experience. I would definetly go back and hopefully upgrade it to a 5 star.
Review Source:I went there a few weeks ago for my first rodizio. They definitely turned me on to the idea but I found a few of their skewers to be salty. Particularly the turkey and the pork. The first one they brought me (the bacon-wrapped filet mignon) was delicious. But how do you go wrong with bacon-wrapped filet mignon.
The buffet that was included was pretty tasty but a little luke warm. Not a bad experience but I will definitely try the other rodizio places in the area before returning.
I came here with a few co-workers of mine to try the famous passion fruit caipirinhas. Â They are always talking about how good the drinks are...Well I finally met them one night for dinner and yes, the passion fruit caipirinhas are quite refreshing and tasty. Â It's a pretty chill restaurant that provides live music entertainment around 9pm. Â The food was a little heavy on the salty side, which I'm not a big fan of, but I will definitely come back with the co-workers for there great drinks.
If you're a guy....you might want to come here for some eye candy...at least that's why my co-workers come here.
My buddy's birthday party and we were open for ideas. I recommended to have some rodizio in Newark. Â I went to a Brazilian place but had forgot the name and i thought it was Boi na Brasa. So we pull up and it def wasn't the place I had in mind. Â
So basically i found this place by pure accident, and i don't regret it!! The rodizio is top quality meat. Â The service was good, they took care of us and made sure the rodizio was rotating constantly. The salad bar is tiny! I have been to a lot of rodizio spots (texas de brazil, fernandz steak house, fuego de chao etc...) and all their salad bars were huge and tons of selection, but this place just really only had salad.
There is a restaurant section and a bar/party separate section that looked pretty lively as we were walking out.
Give this place a try u really cant go wrong here!!
ive been coming to this place for a while the staff is pretty friendly but the food is just wayyy to salty, these people that work at the grill need to relax on the salt its just awful. Â and the restaurant is way over priced so there goes 2 lost stars, hopefully they clean up a little
Review Source:I came here with my boyfriend with a http://restaurant.com certificate. Â I immediately liked the decor and the friendly nature of the staff. Â The buffet didn't have a huge selection like more upscale rodizio places, but it served its purpose with different salads and cheeses. Â
I ordered grilled chicken with onions. Â I didn't like the texture of the chicken and it didn't have much flavor. Â My boyfriend ordered steak with onions and he enjoyed his (guess I should've gotten the steak!)
My boyfriend and I went to Boi Na Brasa for my birthday, and I can say with all confidence that we will not return.
I had the stuffed sole, which was overcooked and completely unseasoned. I literally do not think they used a single spice or seasoning. The fish was poor and the crab stuffing was bland. Boyfriend had the flank steak, which was way too thin, overcooked and it seemed the chef tried to mask this by piling on a heap of bland onions.
Adding insult to injury, the service was terrible. Despite an almost empty dining area the waiter took an extremely long time to take our order, Â never checked up on us, and left us waiting about 20 minutes for the check.
The only things we enjoyed were the salad bar and yummy mashed potatoes.
Skip it. Newark - especially the ironbound - has much more to offer.
My friend who grew up in Ironbound recommended this location over the much higher rated second location down the street.
This could have easily been a 1 star rating if it wasnt for the service. We walked in a bit early for dinner, just after 6:00 on a Tuesday night and found the bar area relatively crowded, but the dining room completely empty. I had a very direct, frank discussion with the host asking if the food would still be fresh and good with the small crowd or if I should try the sister restaurant down the street that night. He assured me the food is the same as the sister restaurant and that this place only gets packed on the weekends. I trusted him and we sat down for dinner.
The $25 price tag for Rodizio is quite appealing, but as the food started coming out, I realized that Rodizio is only intended for crowded restaurants. The first 3 or 4 meats they brought out were completely overcooked, I think they may have even been left over from the late lunch crowd. Finally, I said something to the waiter, that we really prefer medium rare meat. So, they made every attempt to please us, they brought out everything they had that was pinker and said htey were cooking new meat for us. Finally, by the time we were almost full, the medium rare, gorgeous meats came out.
The last few bites were very good, if they had brought out fresh, medium rare meat all along this would be a 4-star rating. the service and the fact that they made very attempt to satisfy our request saved this from a disasterous dinner.
