I came here on a week night with a friend for a bite to eat. It was fairly busy, and service was decent. I didn't have a pizza, as the server suggest not ordering the gluten free crust, but my friend got the Buffalo Chicken pizza and seemed to enjoy it. I got the Greek Salad with Chicken and it was a nice salad. I liked that it had a lot of kalamata olives. Nothing really stood out as fantastic to me, but I would like to try this place again.
Review Source:Ok. Â So a coworker recommended this place. Â Exact quote: "good beer, good pizza, good night". Â
I was actually reading the Yelp reviews while we were at the bar waiting for a table. Â Wow, not so good. Â First tip, if you don't have kids, let them know that a bar table is OK...there are booths and tables galore in the bar. Â The hostess told us 30 minutes, we waited 10 for a nice booth/table combo. Â A rather nice surprise. Â
The pizza was very good. Â We had the Tony's Supremo w/o black olives. Â I know there are pizzas that are better than others, however, if you're looking for a weekend to relax, have a beer, and eat a pizza, this is the place. Â Keep in mind, that you are going to a restaurant/bar/taproom. Â Some of the reviews on here really don't respect the RESTAURANT part of the description. We sat in the bar, and yes, I could here children crying and kids yelling and screaming, but the sign didn't say "no kids allowed'...they like pizza too. Â Anyway, if you want that, go to a bar. Â
On another note, our waiter was fabulous. Â He was very knowledgable about beers and all of the pizzas ...we didn't wait. Â I'm not sure if other reviewers have been in the dining room, or what, but our experience was good.
In retro, what are we going to BoomBozz Pizza for? Â Pizza, beer, and good times. Â Give it a rest about the noise, the kids, the wait staff, etc...it's busy and crowded, if it wasn't good, that wouldn't be the case, so stop complaining. Â If you want quiet, go to Peterson's. Â

2 Stars?--3 Stars?2 Stars?--3 Stars?2 Stars?--3 Stars????
This was the fight I had with myself.
Like Christy B said. I wanted to like this place so bad! Sadly, compared to the other great Pizza Places of Carmel this was sorely lacking.
Matt B.'s words echo in my head, "I wish i would have saved my money for Chipotle!
The Reason I wanted to like them?
*23/24 Tap options are local (that's what my sever told me anyway...I didn't get to see for myself). Â This is what made me waver between the 2-3 stars.
*Atmosphere was a fun rustic urban feel, plenty of TV's-you know the drill typical pizza place.
What changed my mind?
I know I tend to picky when it comes down to service. I have to remind myself often, this is just a pub, or just a pizza place. But here is what I ask:
*Check/Order Accuracy
*Plenty O Water (I tend be a water hog-I know-fluids are important though :)
*Bright Smile-Make me feel like you want me here.
*Good Listener-(sounds like I'm looking for a blind date..goodness)
So service, I am afraid wasn't quite any of these. The presentation of the menu and the description of his recommendations were fantastic! Started off with a great big smile and a hearty greeting. He made me really excited to be there! Lofted up the Tennis Ball high into the air for a brilliant career breaking serve--and then let the ball drop and roll off the court. **Womp Womp** So sad, because he started off so well. I think I only had my water filled twice. I had asked  for lemon, but it was forgotten (not really a big deal). I ordered a bun-less Meatball and Marinara sandwich that was 7.99. It came and my entire table looked at it and said, "That's it!" And surprise surprise, it came with a bun. I mentioned it to the server but he seemed less than concerned. I am not sure what I was paying for because the meatballs that I got were probably only 6 meatballs that were halved to look like more...I don't know what the portion was but if I had to guess it was probably only 5 to 7 oz of meat.
It terms of personality, our server was great! He was fun and easy going, ready to "get the party started". He was fun he really was. But for 9:30 at night with barren sections I expected more attention to our 7 top table.
The nachos were made atop house made potato chips...the dipping sauces were fun.
Mon-Friday after 9pm most of the appetizers are only $5.
This probably a place to hang with the guys and catch the game, but I don't' think I would make Mrs. F endure service like this again.
I hope that you find the 3 stars I left out in your experience. I know it can always be hit or miss with Pizza places in general. I wish you the best, dear Yelpers, in your quest to find a venerable Pizza Place with honorable service.
We picked up some food to go, so I can only comment on that aspect. Â
We got a couple mini pizzas with ceasar salads as well as a sandwich. Â
My chipotle fajita pizza was very good. Â It was just the right size were I could take a piece for lunch the next day. Â The chicken was good quality and the crust cooked just right. Â Flavor was up my alley as it had a little bit of spice to it, but not so much that it took away from the other aspects. Â
They took a few minutes to get our food after we arrived, but not more than 3 or 4 minutes. Â The place looks cool and i think they have a decent local beer selection from what I could read on the signs.
overall a good experience. Â Look forward to eating in next time we are in the area.
There is nothing that I like more than pizza, and I really wanted to like this place. Fun atmosphere, great bar area, interesting topping combinations. But, the crust isn't very good, and neither the pizza or the sandwiches are anything to write home about. Pizzology has ruined me for average pizza. I'd much rather drive three miles down the road for the best, instead of settle for this.
However, the one redeeming item on the menu is the soft pretzel appetizer. Yummy, warm, cheesy with a little kick...unbelievably delicious! I'm happy to pass the pizza up for an order of these and a salad.
Went for late lunch/happy hour and had AWFUL service. The group grew but was awful from the start. Prices for HAPPY HOUR were good but otherwise overpriced. The Portabello Mushroom appetizer was delicious and raised my review by a star. But even though it was tasty I won't return because of the awful service, loud noise, and way too many kids
Review Source:The short version: loud atmosphere, lots of kids, mediocre salads and card board crusted flavorless pizza. Â On the plus side, the beer choices are plenty and the server was friendly and attentive.
The extended version: Â I got a $30 for $15 coupon from living social and based on the comments we were excited to try something new. Â We started with two salads- The Wedge & a Caesar. Â The Wedge was a big serving but it was loaded with too much dressing, not my thing. Â The Caesar was boring (it should be more than shredded romaine) thus we have had better.
For the Pizza we opted we for 1/2 Tuscan Chicken 1/2 Pollotate. Â There is no sauce on either of these pizzas and while I have had similar versions that were tasty at other places--Boombozz hasn't mastered the concept and both sides of the pizza were dry and flavorless. . Â The cheese was minimal, the chicken was dry and the whole thing was bland and boring like day old dry soda bread. Â Honestly an off brand frozen pizza would have been better.
They offer beer flights which is a nice option when you are either undecided or want to branch out and try new things. Â That and a nice server were they only positives to our dining experience-- neither of which was enough to warrant a return visit.
I really like Boombozz. I have been several times and tried several pizzas. All of them have been great, but my favorite is Pollotate. Chicken and potato pizza. The Carnitas also rocks, especially if you're craving pizza and Mexican. You must put the green chili jelly on it, really, it adds a lot.
I love that they have several local/Indiana beers and that you can get a flight. I have always had good service, quite friendly even.
Health Department Hazard! Let's just say I have inside information and I would not eat there until they get their act cleaned up. If the health depart showed up they would be shut down. One example: the ONLY hand washing station for the staff is broken--that means no hand washing after touching dirty plates and other peoples empty drink glasses and before touching your food!!FYI: I wouldn't suggest with here :/
Review Source:My family was there on a Saturday night and there was a long wait. Â When we were seated, our server arrived very timely. Â However, he was unable to describe the special "craft beer of the day". Â Our pizza order took a while to arrive. Â When it finally did, we had two lukewarm pizzas along with an explanation that one pizza was not correctly prepared and was missing many of the ingredients. Â However, another pizza was on the way. Â After waiting an additional 15 minutes, the correctly prepared pizza arrived. Â I must admit, it was fabulous, but didn't make up for the two lukewarm pizzas. Â Hopefully, this was just a result of an extremely busy night.
Review Source:I went to BoomBozz and I was impressed when I walked in but by the time I left I had been charged more than what the price on the menu was. When I talked with the manager he let me know with his actions that he didn't care and wanted to blame the waiter while not trying to fix the situation. I emailed the owner and still haven't heard back.
PS Their BOOMBREW Amber is not a true Classic Amber but and American Amber Ale that is very very very very Hoppy. FYI and Amber Ale should be a mix of malt and hops taste!!
We checked BoomBozz out for dinner on Friday at 8 pm during March Madness ... the wait for the main dining room was 45 minutes, but since we were all over 21, we had immediate seating in the non-smoking bar ... for the win! Â They have a pretty decent beer list, with their house brews provided by Flat 12, and several pours from Triton. Â Although there seemed to be plenty of large TV's around the bar, the table where we were sitting had us facing a brick wall, so we had to turn all the way around to watch the games.
We started our meal with the pretzel sticks, which were crisp and buttery on the outside, surprisingly light and airy on the inside. Â They were served with a tasty beer and cheese dip that we kept for dipping the pizza crusts to follow.
We ordered a large pizza with the wheat crust. Â Any of their pizzas can be split, so we ordered a 1/2 Tuscan Chicken and 1/2 Buffalo Chicken. Â The wheat crust was thinner than the typical regular crust, but thicker than a cracker-thin crust, and had a little bit of sweetness that made it unique. The tuscan chicken was a huge hit, with tender marinated chicken, big chunks of portobello mushrooms and roma tomatoes. Â The sauce was a creamy garlic that went well with the wheat crust. Â The buffalo chicken was just ok ... the sauce was very good, but the chicken wasn't nearly as tender as the tuscan, and the raw celery on top was a little odd. Â The cheese seemed the same on both, a generously applied and tasty blend of asiago and mozarella.
Next time, we look forward to trying the pollotate and the fajita pizzas. Â And we'll definitely do the wheat crust again .. maybe make some wheat breadsticks and serve them with honey? Â I'd buy that! Â We skipped their dessert and strolled to the Handel's down the strip mall for the best ice cream in Carmel. Â I predict that BoomBozz followed by Handels is going to become a really popular combination this summer.
Don't bother with the so-called cheesy sticks appetizer. There is no cheese and they aren't sticks.Very misleading menu description. It's just a cheap small pizza with a thin layer of plain cheese. I have had better at Dominos.
The pizzas themselves were good. We had the potato one and also the pesto sauce one split half and half across one medium pizza. Both sides were very good--although Bazbeaux has nothing to worry about. Wines were good and reasonably priced. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent. So for a chain(from Louisville)--albeit a small chain--I guess it was good for the suburbs. But Bazbeaux in Carmel is better.
I had such a great experience my first time at BoomBozz. It was a few hours before they had their official grand opening and the owner invited me in after he saw me checking out the menu from the door. He let me sample beers and gave me a nice tour telling me all about BoomBozz. They have 25-30 beers on draft, about 75% local/regional craft beers and the other 25% domestic . I think that they have a really unique setup with their taproom/bar area. I can't think of an other place in the Carmel area that has anywhere near the craft beer draft selection that they do. Even if you are not into beer, the normal dining area is very family friendly and the pizza is fantastic. BoomBozz is located in the old BD's Mongolian BBQ location next to the Fresh Market in Westfield/Carmel on 146th st.
