I absolutely loved this place! We went here before the rangers game to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat.The menu here is delicious and unhealthy(exactly what yor looking for when going to a rangers game)but they do have salads and other alternative things. Our waitress was friendly an pretty quick about our order. We ordered the appetizer sample mushrooms were AMAZING,wins were delicious and they had japlopeno cheese sticks! After we ate we got to take our cashed out ticket to the lady outside for a $2 shuttle ride to the game.If your looking for a cheap decent place to eat or grab drinks before the game this is the place to go!
Review Source:Can't beat the tall domestic draft happy hour-stravaganza complete with complimentary fried pickles and fried jalapenos from 5 - 7. I mean, really!
The wraps are, by far, their calling card (at least in my opinion). Nothing too fancy or stellar, but they are solid and predictable every time and I appreciate that.
Great place to test your trivia skills too. Do you have game?
If there was a zero stars button I'd select it. The first time I went here was at lunch and the food was decent at best. I had a cheeseburger but have had better. Th second (and last time) I went to this establishment was on a Saturday evening. It was packed and because we had a large party the wait time was longer. This wasn't an issue at all. When we finally were seated it took approximately 30 minutes to get our drink orders. It was quite obvious our waitress was new and inexperienced and no one helped her. She kept taking the orders of 2 or 3 people then go away to place it. So it took getting her attention about 4 times for everyone to finally have their orders placed. All of this took an extra 45 minutes. The final and most disgusting thing to happen was the lipstick on the martini glass. My friend was not wearing lipstick and thank goodness someone saw it before she took a sip. The lipstick was not only in just one spot of the glass, it was all over the entire rim. They clearly did not Even bother to wash it which makes me wander what other health violations they have. I understand it was extremely busy but there is no excuse for serving food or drinks on dirty, unsanitary dishes and glasses. I emailed the management and never heard anything back but that wasn't surprising. Also, check your receipt well because with large parties they will automatically charge you 18% but when you get your ticket, they add on an additional tip. If you do the math you will see it's well over 20%. After the horrible experience, I don't think I should've paid a single penny in tips but clearly they know most people won't notice this extra charge. After reading this you still choose to go here, make sure you inspect EVERYTHING.
Review Source:This has become home base for my friends and I for sports watching. Â And even if we just want to meet up for a random evening of drinks and conversation. Â
The menu consists of standard bar fare. Burgers, wings, fries, mozzarella sticks, some salads. Â To be honest, the food is good but don't expect a great variety of selection. Â The Jalapeno Cheese Sticks are probably my favorite item.
They have Happy Hour all day, EVERY day and specific drink specials everyday, except Fridays. Â The best drink specials? Monday and Tuesdays. $2 You Call Its. Â Can't beat that!
Plus with the walls damn near totally covered in TV screens, this spot should be a staple for any sports fan.
Wings are awesome. Â Everything was great about the restaurant. Â However, the area it was in...not so much. Â It was only 11:00pm when we walked out of the restaurant when I thought I was going to be in a cross fire. Â I heard an argument and that quickly followed by a fast drive by. Â Tires was screeching and he must have gone at least 40 in a small twisting parking lot. Â Almost hit 3 cars and us. Â Great restaurant. Â Just bad luck to be in a wrong place at the wrong time.
Review Source:My friends and I stopped at this place pretty late at night on super empty stomachs. Â I wasn't too excited about the place since the atmosphere reminds me that of Buffalo Wild Wings (meeh). I ordered the Taco Salad, Boomer Chips and Hot Chicken Wings, all of which were absolutely delicious. Although I think I'd prefer Wingstop on their wings, their food and over all service was fantastic. Food and service--4 stars.
The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars was because of the location. On our way out, I was absolutely terrified as I heard people yelling and screaming in the parking lot and then a car screaching its way out like a maniac Next time I come here, it will definitely be daylight.
I love this location as it is a SMOKE FREE environment. They have happy hour specials pretty much every day here. Fun place to hang out with friends and play catch up. Food is decent. I do love the Jalapeno Cheesesticks. The fried pickles here were so salty though. Parking here is a hit or miss though.
Review Source:I was visiting Dallas from MA just for a weekend. We were at Cowboy Stadium for a tour and stopped here to visit after finding it on http://FindMeGlutenFree.…. (We picked a crazy day to be there, as it was the Texas vs Oklahoma football game, which I guess is a big deal down in TX!)
They had a lot of gluten-free options and confirmed that they had a dedicated fryer for french fries and they were gluten-free as well. I love when I can have some french fries - it's unfortunately rare, since most places fry it in common oil.
My burger was good, the fries were good, and I didn't get sick afterwards.
Overall this place is good enough to keep me coming back once or twice a week for about six months now. Â Everything here screams "acceptable", except maybe the noise which just screams.
Let's start with the food. Â When I first started going I tried several things on the menu. Â Recently I've settled on the basic burger. Â If you order a burger, your server will likely make sure to say, "medium well?" as if what you respond matters, which it doesn't. Â Overall the food presentation is nice, and the quality is, well... acceptable. Â I've just never found something there I "loved", and the reactions of my group seem to all echo that sentiment.
Now, as for the service, this is tricky. Â It seems like not a single server here knows how to smile. Â They walk around like they're in a daze. Â Often when they approach the table, you feel like you're inconveniencing them. Â My guess is that being "young and hot" is usually enough to earn their tips. Â But this isn't universally true, on rare occasions we've had servers that seem genuinely both pleasant and competent. Â It took a few months, but I finally learned to hang on to those servers and request their sections. Â Also, and this is important, they take timely food delivery seriously, with a staff of (from what I can tell) at least two or three expos during dinner.
Lastly, the atmosphere is about what you would expect from a bar/restaurant. Â There are a billion TVs, even though there only seems to be about 4 channels ever running (often side by side, it's weird.) Â Depending on whether you're unlucky enough to be seated directly under a speaker during a baseball game, the noise can run from "bar loud" to "concert loud". Â And maybe I just choose busy times to go, but it always seems crowded (though never really over-crowded).
Honestly, the only reason I (and my group) keep coming back to Boomerjack's is for smoke-free trivia. Â I also happen to enjoy the "scenery", though that isn't a factor for most of my friends and well, there is plenty of "scenery" at other places. Â Still, it's good enough and until someone comes up with a better place that we can all agree on, we'll probably keep coming back for quite a while.
My first visit and not a bad thing to say, I LOVED IT!! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful with picking out a menu item. Â THe manager also came around and checked on each table which I think is just wonderful. Â I ordered the steak and chicken combo nachos. Â They are to die for!! The queso is yummy and the steak and chicken had soooo much flavor. Â My friend had the buffalo wings and jalepeno chips and they were delicious also. Â I kept thinking I can't wait to come back to try other things!
We went while it was pretty slow, 3pm on a monday, so we didn't get to experience the sports bar action which was also great if you're not up for all the noise. Â The overall experience was so comforting and relaxing, my friend and I sat and talked for a couple hours after eating and never once did we get a rude stare or hint that we needed to leave from the staff. Â I will definitely be back.
Came back with a friend and tried some more of the food. I loved their loaded baked potato soup, delicious without tasting overly runny or greasy. My friend got their appetizer sampler and enjoyed onion rings, cheese sticks and potato skins.
Ate the garlic fries again and just as good as last time, but can I suggest easy on the parmesean cheese next time? a bit over cheesy drowned out the garlic taste.
Good service and very patient server as my friend and I caught up on gossip over 2 hours.
Well...it was off to a bumpy start.
$2 for a short beer and $3 for a tall beer for the happy hour before the Rangers game. Â Several in party got the short and I, of course, got the tall. Â Well, yes, the glass was taller however it contained the same volume as the shorts. Â There was a full 1.5" left to the top of glass and it still had a head. Â We experimented with the volumes and they were the same...weird. Â maybe an anomaly.
Then we ordered a second round...I convinced another to order a tall in addition to my own. Â Foiled again. Â Just weird.
I feel it is necessary to add their selection of beers on tap is very mediocre...unless you love mass-produced 3.5 beer.
Also, the selections of Tequila...abysmal.
So why three stars? Â Well, the menu was fairly varied and reasonably well executed...especially for a sport's bar. Â The servers were all friendly and helpful. Â There are TV's...everywhere. Â Exactly what I ultimately need in a sport's bar.
Lastly, the shuttle to-from Rangers game is quite handy and very easy.
I'd definitely go back before a game or on a random sports-watching weekday night after work or the occasional Sunday morning.
This Boomerjack's location is better then the one in Fort Worth the service more friendly and they had more seating, the place it self was clean.
I went there last year after a Rangers game and they had UFC on it was crowded and busy and it to go here on a night when they have UFC but the food was nothing great and the drinks were nice and cold, i say overall it's an ok place to hung out.
I go to this Boomerjacks for lunch sometimes during the week when I'm craving a cheeseburger, because it's the closet place to my work (that I know of) that has a gluten-free bun. Â
Because "gluten-free" is a fad these days, I feel that as soon as I say "gluten-free" I get judged for being "one of those people." Â Not that its any of your business, yelp community, but my gluten-free-ness is not by choice, and if my body would allow it, I'd eat handfuls of wheat for all five meals. Â Just like a big strap-on feed bag of hops and barley. Â Then I'd wash it down with a 12 pack of Busch. Â Head for the mountains. Â Anyway. Â
That being sed, this Boomerjacks' gluten-free bun is a serviceable substitute for a real person bun, and the burger is always delicious (I get mine medium), with a sweet-spot combination of onions, pickles, cheese, tomato and shredded lettuce. Â Sometimes tomatoes can be gross and mushy, but I have yet to have anything besides crisp tomatoes on my cheeseburgers at this Boomerjacks. Â I'm not sure what dressing they put on their regular cheeseburgers, as I'm never asked about mustard or mayo. Â For this one tho, I'll leave it to the professionals, because whatever they're using, it goes great with swabs of Heinz 57. Â
At the tail end of the burger, I always think I could order one more, like maybe it was a little on the small side. Â But after eating all the fries and letting it settle, I'm always super-full and satisfied. Â
They have a lot of TVs, which is one of my criteria for a good restaurant. Â The music they pipe in is usually classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Bob Seeger, etc.) or neo-classic (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc.), all of which I enjoy but I think is a little loud for lunch (I assume because I'm getting old). Â
On my many visits there, I have yet to be served or seated by an unattractive waitress who was not wearing shorty-shorts. Â For a shallow man such as myself, this is also important. Â The last time I went, the waitress seemed intrigued by the comic book I was reading while I waited on my food, though she didn't ask me about it (It was the Flash). Â
So, if you're looking for a prompt lunch in the Arlington area that includes a cheeseburger with a gluten-free bun, fries and an iced tea that's right around $10, and you think the height of a lunch-time dining experience is ESPN on 20 different screens and waitresses in shorty-shorts who may or may not be interested in the comic book you're reading, then I highly recommend this Boomerjacks.
The first few times I visited the Boomerjack's Arlington location, I was impressed. Good drink specials, the atypical big screens and trivia games, and nothing on the menu will break the bank. Sounds good, right? That was the first few times. The LAST two times? A totally different experience. Standing at the host stand waiting to be seated for over 5 minutes and you never even see the hostess? But wait, the bartender sees you! Aaaand she doesn't even try to find someone to seat you. Not cool, Boomie's. Not cool at all. Then, you return the next weekend thinking, "Hey, why not? Everyone makes mistakes!", get seated promptly, but never see your waitress after waiting for nearly 10 minutes. Now that's just [Boomer] jacked up.
Review Source:I have been to this location several times and always enjoy the food, service, prices and atmosphere. So, overall I have to say that tonight was an exception. Our waitress seemed very experienced and on the ball in the beginning. However, when our food came, two out of six orders were incorrect. She apologized and said the correct plates would be out right away. It took fifteen minutes during which time those without food nibbled from others' plates, and were not quite hungry enough to enjoy their food when it arrived. I felt like some discount or compensation should have been offered, but it was not. Later, one of the draft beers was delivered with a bug floating on top. It was about ten minutes before the waitress returned to see if everything was ok. Â She quickly brought another beer, minus the bug. When our check came, we were charged for the "bug" beer and the replacement. My son was paying the check and insisted I not bring this up, so he paid for everything and left a 20 percent tip on top of that. Lucky day for the waitress. Not so much for our party.
Review Source:HAPPY HOUR ALL DAY EVERYDAY! Need I say more? lol No but for real this place has an awesome atmosphere to go and watch any sporting event. (except UFC fights as it gets insanely packed then and unenjoyable) Food is great for a sports bar. Been luck to have good service on my visits. Come to this place twice a month.
Review Source:I really didn't think I would ever give a place one star but Boomerjacks went and proved me wrong. It was not the atmosphere that turned me off. It is your typical sports bar with about a million and a half TVs. The lights were dim and the outside seating looked enjoyable. Then what is the big one star all about you ask? Well I'll tell you. It is how long the service took. Our waiter who happen to be the bartender and about seven other families waiter took so long to just get to our table, get our drinks, and bring out our food. I want to point out to Boomerjacks for being short staffed. I ordered the wings which I felt were not that great. I have had better wings and to be something like a sports bar, you really want to step up your recipe I kid you not but we spent 3 hours in this place when we finished in less then 2 and we were still waiting on our check. The majority of our group was frustrated and just wanted to leave. Unless Boomerjacks make some serious changes to there employment staff. I doubt I will come back.
Review Source:Came here right after a Ranger's game (they won) thinking it would be a fun, rowdy place to celebrate after a game.... wrong. There was hardly anyone in there. It seems to be more like a restaurant than a bar, and I was hoping it would be more like a bar. We didn't eat, had a few beers, service on the patio was slow. Just OK, just not very memorable.
Review Source:This is my first time i've been to this location. Â I've been to the one in Bedford and one in Ft. Worth, but this location is by far my favorite. Â The atmosphere is awesome. Â I've only had chicken tenders. Â It was really good. So were the wings. Â This is a fun place to hang out after work or to watch a game. Â There are lots and lots of TVs. Â I like that it is non-smoking too since I'm pregnant. Â
Our waitress was awesome. Â Without even requesting that our check be split (hubby and I were there with a group of friends), she remembered who ordered what and split the ticket for us. Â AWESOME! Â I was very impressed!
I was here on a Wednesday right after 5pm. Like the boomer jacks in Hurst this place has great happy hour specials. Now The service was very very slow and the atmosphere was rather....old--er. I was there with a group. we are between the ages of 35-40 and we were the young group. Not sure what that was all about.
This I guess is a good place for cougar hunters. Most people in here were in their 50's but maybe the day and time of day had something to do with that.
The place is nice and still has that new bar smell. Not sure if I would go back but if I do hopefully it will be more lively.
I could care less about the sports bar aspect, so for me the review is all about the food.
I ordered some kind of garlic wings and got lemon pepper. The bleu cheese dressing was incredibly overpowering, but I think that most people like it like that. (My favorite bleu cheese is from Pluckers, because it kind of tastes like veggie dip.) As far as bar food goes, I think Boomerjack's is a little better than the rest, although screwing up an order doesn't get them any points!
This is my new favorite sports bar in Arlington. Good food and not too pricey. With HDTV screens all over the place. But what really makes it a 5-starts joint is the setup. The covered outside patio setup is awesome, they made it perfect for a large group of people if they want to stand or to sit down on one of the couches.
Review Source:This Arlington location of the Fort Worth eatery is a pretty alright joint for burgers and beers. Â The food is not too pricey, and there are great drink specials. Â With 125 HDTV screens, it is pretty hard to cook up something bad to go along with your sport-watching experience. Â Also, there is trivia to distract you from your dining experience.
Sure enough, there is nothing to rave about with the food, but it definitely does the job. Â With greasy goodness, the food sits heavy in the stomach in plentiful amounts.
The burgers are all pretty different, and the sides are somewhat unique. Â The jalapeno ranch burger had nice fried mushroom caps and chunks of jalapeno. Â The panini was a bit more disappointing, as it was small and slightly soggy.
The sides were pretty mediocre as well. Â The best choice is probably the onion rings, which are chicken-fried and thick cut. Â The cheddar fries were pretty sad and soft. Â The chili was pretty good, but at $4 for a tiny cup, it was definitely not worth it.
This new eatery provides all the atmosphere you need to enjoy your time at Boomerjack's from greasy burgers to all sorts of sports and games. Â Food and drinks are cheap here, so it would be a good choice before or after a game.
