First off this is a RAVENS bar during the football season! Great to find awesome Baltimore sports fans when out of state. The food here improves every time I visit and the menu is changed on a regular basis. During the football season they cook up amazing Maryland style steamed crabs with Old Bay.
Friday and Saturday nights the laid back atmosphere changes to either a pulsating Deejay or live music from a great local band. The drinks are reasonably priced and they always have a great selection of microbrews available. If it is available I definitely recommend the Holy City Porter.

My two friends and I wandered into this place after spending the day shopping on King Street. We knew we were at home with the reggae music bumping in there! We all are island girls and LOVE reggae. We sat at the bar and hung with the Bartender, Bailey- who was SO nice and had lots of good info on Charleston for us since we were traveling up from Savannah. Nothing but GOOD vibes in this place. The drinks were super good and Bailey was so nice. Thank you thank you thank you!

It's on King Street so they get two stars automatically for that. It's a sports bar so that makes three. Other than that there is nothing special about this place. They have cold beer and bar food just like you would expect. I like Allagash White Ale and they have that here. Go check it out if you are wandering around and want a drink. They have an upstairs area too if downstairs gets to crowded.

an a-ok bar indeed! a homey bar that reminded us of our college days in athens, ga. really friendly bartender, adam, who really made our experience and certainly kept us around for another round of drinks that i wasnt planning on.

i wasnt super impressed with the happy hour specials but at least a titos and soda still only ran me $6-7 even without being included in happy hour.

heard about second sunday and wish we had been around longer to check it out. sounds like a great time in and around boone's

Came hear for dinner on my honeymoon. Liked the way the place was set up. Low light, cool art, and could see cooks behind glass. Ordered  Bleu Moon Burger With Sweet Potato Fries and my wife ordered B.L.A.T. ( Alvarado on a BLT ) Food was delish!!! The waitress was nice and stayed on top of her work. Greeted everyone and immediately took drink order. With a good music choice on the speakers (sublime, Citizen Cope, Rebelution, etc), X-Games on a tv, and a younger staff and patrons I definitely liked the vibe!!! Plus found one of my favorite type of guitar pic in the seat I chose!!! Hope to go back again!!!

Excellent burger, coming from someone who tends not to eat that kind of food any more (vacation!).  Very tasty "Bistro" burger.

A nice "Old Fashioned" made with Makers Mark was the crown jewel on this visit.

Boone's a great lunchtime spot right in the heart of downtown Charleston. I love coming here for a cold draft beer and a burger on Fridays.
The staff here is extremely friendly and service is just great.
The beer selection here is good offering around 10 or so different craft beers on draft and a good selection of bottled as well; and of course a full service menu of liquor at the bar.
The food here hasn't let me down either. I've tried a few different burgers here and I have to say my favorite is the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese burger with the egg cooked sunny side up. Take a knife and cut the burger in half and let the yoke of the egg run down the middle and soak into the burger and bun; it's gonna be messy, but it's so good!
Just thinking about that burger with a cold draft beer or three is making me wish it were Friday already!

Cool bar atmosphere.  Didn't eat, just drank, and the drinks are stiff!  Fun place, and everyone there was having fun too.

Great, friendly bartender who gave us fantastic recommendations for drinks and other local restaurants and bars. I'd definitely go back.

I really like Boone's.  Having been a few times now, I have found that everyone working there is incredibly friendly and welcoming.  Drinks are cheap, which I love, they have a decent selection of wine, and their menu is not lacking at all.  Much better than the typical bar fare - a few of my favorites are the bacon wrapped goat cheese stuffed jalapenos, black bean hummus and the lovebug vegetarian wrap.

It is still very much a bar and it is tad bit dark inside, but don't let this deter you.  I think Saturdays they always have a DJ upstairs after 10pm or so and they have a small dance floor, but don't you dare try to request anything, he was kind of sassy when my sister and I approached.  Uh, did you forget your profession, Mr. DJ? And I have to say, NOT for kids... It is STILL a bar, it's just a bar that has really good food.  Great place!

we were here on a 1pm on Sunday. the service was good. we recd our beverages promptly. I had the BBQ burger. its what I would expect from a bar/ restaurant . the staff was friendly. if you're a vegetarian and one of the previous reviewers were, I probably wouldn't come here. the same reviewer also said they made them stick to the brunch menu which is served until 3, well, this wasn't true for us.

Good service, tasty burger and fries, bad sweet tea. I had the bacon egg and cheese burger, damn it was tasty. Hand cut fries were good too.

They didn't have a kids menu, high chair or a booster, so I wouldn't take my kids here again. They enjoyed the quesadilla though.

Service is as bad as it can get --- try anyplace else.

What a difference a day makes....... I'm updating my review.  The food and beer is still good.  But the service has fallen off the edge of the earth.  It took a bit to get a beer (there were maybe 8 folks in the bar and three waitstaff).  I wanted to order some food, was given a menu and waited, well forever.  I could have walked out without paying for my beer (go ahead and try this kids!) but somehow managed to get the dudes attention to give him my money and left - disappointed still thirsty and hungry.

Very nice place - young college crowd mostly but some older folks too.  Great beer and bourbon selection.  Very good food at very good prices.  Didn't check out the upstairs, but a comfortable fun place with good service.  Would go there again when in Charleston.

Fantastic burgers....and at half price couldn't find a better deal. The draft amber was also top notch.  Server and bartender (who we ran into on the street) were super friendly.

We walked in here about 2:45 on a Sunday after looking at their menus and finding items that enticed the 3 vegetarians in our 4 person party.

We were told that only the brunch menu was to be served 'with no exceptions'- until 3pm, when they'd open their regular menu.

Therefore, I settled for  huevos rancheros- but- it was not the traditional huevos rancheros i'd expected, but a poached egg served on fresh tortillas.

NOTHING is more revolting than a cold rubbery poached egg with cold runny yolk.  So, I sent it back and ordered a lovebug sandwich and while it was prepared I watched my friends eat:

2 friends ordered buttermilk pancakes that were served drowning in an ocean of syrup.

-- Both stared in shock and upon a nibble, described them as disgustingly sweet, soggy, and in the end inedible.

1 friend lucked out and ordered the eggs Benedict on fried green tomatos- She seemed to enjoy this neat southern spin.

When the lovebug sandwich finally arrived, it was thankfully  hot and pretty tasty, but it sported a weird and totally unnecessary layer of creamcheese.

    I hope this place will....

    - let people order off both menus on the weekend- this could especially be helpful to those with dietary restrictions and make available more savoury meals and inventive salads at 2:45 on a weekend.

    - Stop drowning pancakes in syrup.

    -  never ever let another poached egg go cold before serving it.

Good Beer Selection and Fun Vibe.  Our waitress was very attentive and nice... sister of the bartender who kept giving each other some good natured ribbing about menu omissions, whether or not to use a chilled glass etc. but it added to the friendly feel on the place.  Didn't eat but the specials sounded great.
