Meh. We felt a little teased after arriving at Bottle and Cork. The music that was playing as we entered was dance music and current. Within about 15-20 minutes of arriving, the live band came on stage and began a lower than average Motown cover. On top of that, the average age of the crowd seemed to be mid- to late 50s, so it was a much older crowd. Maybe we just went on an off Saturday night.

On the plus side, the drinks were not unreasonably priced. I think I paid $5 for a rum and Coke, which is average-ish, and the bartender did not short change customers on the liquor from what I could tell. Service was good and fast.

I hear that the venue is better at other times, but since I only visit the area occasionally, I do not know if I will make it back or not.

Came here on a Saturday night.  If you come here, you must love live bands.  The cover bands had great energy, entertaining and there was no cover.  Free music!?!?!  I can't complain about that.

The ambiance is sort of divey, so don't be a snob if you go.  Just go for the live band and have fun.  That's what its about.  You feel like your outdoors or something.

We missed the Jam Session since we were at the beach all day.

Bottle and Cork is a fun live music venue. It's fairly spacious but usually packed to the brim. I've heard a Sprinsgteen cover band and one group who covered more modern stuff (including some great Rage Against the Machine renditions). This is not the place where your local hacks just cover classic tunes though. Plenty of quality original stuff gets played too.

Depending on who's playing and the time of night you show up, there may or may not be a cover charge. Some Saturdays have no cover all night, which is pretty legit. I'm sure they make this up on the drinks though. Around 5 bucks for Bud Light and other macro swill is pretty despicable, but not uncommon for the area.

There are multiple bars and it's usually pretty easy to grab a drink, which is nice. There are some arcade games in the back corner, but I've never seen them get used.

If you're walking by and hear some good tunes, stop by and grab a drink or two while you listen. Definitely a worthy stop on a Dewey Beach bar crawl.
