Visiting the Waterford, CT area for a baseball tournament and the family choice for lunch was Buffalo Wild Wings since we have never dined at this establishment. Â We allowed ourselves two hours for lunch and apparently this was insufficient. Â The waiter, Isaac, did come to the table within in a reasonable time to take our drink order, however, after 15 minutes, our drinks had not arrived. Â I summoned the manager, Michaela, who addressed the issued with the waiter and our drinks were delivered. Â I ordered a Stella Artois, which they offer on tap. Â Upon tasting the beer, I knew it was not Stella. Â I summoned the waiter, who stated that he would look into it and get back to me....what? Â Look into what? Â Just get me the right beer. Â After another 30 minutes, our food had not arrived. Â I requested that the manager be sent to our table and nicely, but firmly, stated that I did not want Isaac serving our table. Â He was inefficient and running around the restaurant like he was not in control of his tables. Â Michaela brought our lunch, which was cold, but did not bring my toddler's burger...they forgot to make it. Â His lunch arrived 5 minutes later and was scorching hot. Â She apologized and offered to take 15% off the bill. Â I explained that her resolution was fine, but we had to shove the food down our throats because it took one hour in total to get food and drinks. Â The food...well, for being called Buffalo Wild Wings, why would you serve frozen poultry? Â The educated population knows that now only is fresh poultry cheaper, but you can accommodate special foods requests (i.e., allergies, etc). Â The food was not worth the amount charged and the service was VERY VERY poor.
Review Source:Dirty, slow, expensive, loud. Tried to watch Giants vs Packers game, but they had country music blaring. Ordered wings. Waited 20 min before waiter realized the runner brought them to someone else's table (I guess they ate them?). Â Didn't even offer a sincere apology nevermind something free as compensation. Wings were anemic when they arrived. Not very meaty. No drink specials of any significance. And please DON'T publish the calorie count on menu, it only makes me feel guilty and order less
Review Source:Felt compelled to check out a chain dedicated to the immortal buffalo wing ... in this case, that was a big mistake! Â Tiny chicken tenders, thickly masked with fried-food coating, then slathered w/ (way too much!) cheap butter and no where near enough hot sauce. Terrible! Â Looked and tasted premade, frozen, and theyn heated and kept undere a heat lamp before serving. Â Seriously disappointed. Â :( Â I love buffalo wings, but these truly disappoint. Save your money and look elsewhere.
Review Source:Okay, it's B-Dubs, I'm not expecting much from this chain because that's all it is--- a chain restaurant. I love their wings but I've had better. At this particular one, we've always had pretty decent service. Everyone is pretty nice. One time we had a male server who probably could care less about us and seemed grumpy but it really didn't bother me much. Can't really go into this place thinking 5-star.
Review Source:The service was awful. Sat down for lunch one day and had 3 servers totally walk by our table and ignored us.. . Do yourself a favor and go to the frozen food section of your local supermarket and by frozen wings and save yourself some money. Lets not forget all the TVs so you don't notice the absence of a server in the last half hour.
Review Source:I've been meaning for a while to check out a Buffalo Wild Wings... and on doing so, I do not really plan to return. Â
The prices were a little high - but if the food was good (like Hooters) I would be OK with that. Â It wasn't. Â Profoundly mediocre.
Wings were tiny and tasted like they were from frozen (I do better at home with frozen wings from Sam's Club.). Â
Boneless wings were so small as to be better called Popcorn Chicken. Â Again, from frozen. Â
Wedge fries were tasty enough, but nothing to write home about. Â
Service was friendly if not exceptional or speedy.
Of little interest to me - but maybe more so to some - they look to be a decent sports bar; so if you want to drink a bunch of Bud and watch the game, this might be a good venue.
Went here to watch the game about two weeks ago. Got there maybe 15 mins before it started and the place was PACKED. I expected this but when asked how long the wait would be we were told 15 minutes which was no big deal.
Twenty five minutes later I checked on the status of a table and there was still four other people in front of us. I understand things can not always be predicted completely accurately but I don't like having my time wasted when it is obvious we wouldn't have been seated for what I think would have been closer to an hour.
Now, I am not a huge fan of the food there to begin with but a friend had never tried it so we took the trip for him. Needless to say we had to walk out and I am sure that will keep him from ever trying the place out. You're better off going to some hole in the wall sports bar which is exactly what we ended up doing and had an awesome time with great service.
My review is mostly based on the food. It's subpar for a chain to me. perhaps because I don't eat wings which is probably their claim to fame I might be a bit off. Â I've eaten at these places 4 times in some different areas. Â Each time the food was pretty bland and left me wanting something different. Â When I go to any other large chain I don't have this same feeling. Â The service was just tolerable. Â The sports bar atmosphere is the only reason I can conjure up that people might actually like this place. Â I will go to any other national chain before this tasteless rowdy house.
Review Source:Having lived in Buffalo, I'm used to wings that are really flavorful and a little hotter. Â These were ok, not bad, not great. Â The wait staff works very hard to be cheery and friendly, a la Office Space. Â Too bad because they seemed like nice people forced into a corporate version of what it means to be nice. Â So, all in all, a corporate take on what happens in damn near every restaurant in Buffalo. Â
First clue should have been that it's in the mall, the home of all things bland trying to act like they're something special.
This review might be a little dated as it was either right before or right after the new year which meant this location had only been open for a week or two and it showed. The service was unorganized and questions/requests often need confirmation from other staff.
The Wings were good. I had the Honey BBQ. Tasty. The nachos were disappointing and the fries were ok. Â Fried pickles were delicious!
That said the layout is good and this would be an AWESOME place to watch a big game (although it was already packed the night I was there and there wasn't one so your mileage may vary).
Tons of fun appetizers and okay prices (but beware! They add up quick!) in a great sports bar type atmosphere.
All in all, a good visit, but nothing stellar. My boyfriend and I had some lunch special (not memorable) shortly after they opened. Our server was attentive and pleasant, which made for a nice meal. One big perk: they have trivia! It's been a while since we've seen Buzztime trivia and we're fans, so we'll probably go back for that at some point. I did notice that nearly all of the waitstaff looked like they were about 16 years old, so I can't imagine the service is very consistent if they're going for a younger crowd. However, our experience was nothing to complain about. Just nothing too special, either.
Review Source:Awesome food, beer and atmosphere! Â Quite shocked by the reviews...Folks around here must be really bothered by noise, yikes. Â I thought this BWW was super quiet as compared with my Miami favorite BWW. Â Expecting a dead quiet sports bar? Go to a tea room next time....
The Blazing wings were a hit! Waitress already remembered us from just 1 prior visit.
Wow. Â I couldn't believe the horrible reviews so I had to check it out myself to see if it was really that bad. Â
First off, I really do not like chain restaurants. Â If I had the choice, I'd go to Hot Rod's or Wings & Pies in New London first. Â BWW's commercials are quite annoying which would normally influence me in a negative way if I just didn't love wings so damn much. Â And I really don't like chains! Â I'd rather support a local eatery especially when the quality is normally superior.
I ended up at the Crystal Mall & since it was a Thursday night I figured I'd be able to grab a quick seat at the bar & have some wings before making it home without my wife knowing. Â There was a line out the door to get in here so I asked the hostess for a take out order instead. Â I was escorted to the take out area through the main dining room promptly. Â Ordering was a breeze & I sat quietly waiting for my wings.
Now I only ordered wings. Â If you go to a restaurant that specializes in wings then don't order a salad & expect it to be 5 stars. Â Get the damn wings!
I've been to 2 Buffalo Wild Wings before. Â One location in Houston 5 years ago & their old location in Austin (that closed down) on 6th Street. Â Both were quite quaint compared to the Crystal Mall location. Â I don't remember there being so many sauce choices before which is a positive. Â However, this location is LOUD. Â There's Jersey Shore music blaring while there seems to be a TV screen turned to sports everywhere. Â The place is just a monstrosity. Â
I didn't realize that take out had its own entrance/exit until leaving. Â If I had known that (the mall is renovating) I would have gone in the other way to avoid all the commotion. Â
Bottom line: my wings were pretty good as expected. Â They weren't the best BUT were meaty & tasty. Â They have a good selection of sauses that I'd like to try on a return visit but I think I'd rather do take out if at the mall. Â I didn't get to sample any beer but they looked to have a rather large selection of taps behind the bar.
I wouldn't go with my family (kids & wife) but if you can stand the noise & wait check it out. Â I was there during no real big sporting event & it was jamming so I can only imagine what it's like when there's something going on.
I wasn't terribly impressed by our waiter (who couldn't tell me how big a chicken tender was--not even a vague estimate--when I was having trouble deciding between two portion sizes, and also who never returned to see if we needed refills or to check if our meals were to our liking) or by the food.
It's super packed and super loud in there, so be prepared. Â I don't have much of a desire to return.
I'm usually leery of chain restaurants, but I thought I would give this a try. Â I had lunch with a buddy of mine and when we got there it was PACKED. Â It was ok....a lot of folks had the week off before New Years Eve :) Â
I will not be coming back here. Â The food extremely salty. So salty that it bordered on inedible. Â The fries were cold by the time they got to my table. Â The waitress brought our food and then ignored us until I had to stand up and search for her. Â
Take your money and go elsewhere. Â The food and service are miserable.
Wow..After seeing the commercials, we were expecting AWESOME! Â They close at midnight, so when we arrived at about 11 PM, the main dining room only had a few tables going (which may be misleading..the room is HUGE), although the bar was still pretty busy... we sat in the dining room. Â We waited about 10 minutes after being seated for a server to to say that she would 'be right with us' while cruising by. Â When she got there, she had no idea what beers were on draught and we settled for what she 'thought' was there. Â We ordered about 10 minutes after that when our server finally made to back to us. Â Our food came out (not correctly, but I don't want to be overly critical here) BEFORE our beers! Â Just how long were those poor little wings sitting there waiting for a home before we ordered them? Â Alas, we will never know because the runner who delivered them didn't say a word to us and was gone before we realized the order was wrong.
Bottom line - this is a good place to watch a game..but if you want to eat while watching a game, go to Hot Rods!
