I was just here and they apparently raised the drink prices that night for some special occasion and didn't tell us. Â My gf was paying $10 for a single drink. Â I also had strangers buying off my tab, which I found out about the next day. Â I will never go back. Â Bartenders care more about looking good then helping people, the crowd is terrible, WAY to expensive. Â There's more options out there to have fun without spending that much money.
Review Source:The most popular bar/lounge in Des Moines, there's always a packed house Friday and Saturday. Cabaret has plenty of seating, VIP rooms, a VIP Lounge, games, TVs, and a large patio area.
They only have one bar but the bartenders are pretty efficient about getting you your drink. And theres no better place to drink in Des Moines than Cabaret West Glen, they make your drinks fast and have plenty of tasty drink specials to get you drunk. And to have fun at Cabaret West Glen you have to be drunk.
Because not only is Cabaret West Glen known for their cheap delicious drinks that will have you incoherent and giggling for no reason, it is also home to the worst DJs. The DJs do not know how to mix and have no clue what transitioning is. Their skills leave me feeling sorry for those claiming that they're "with the DJ". If the music wasn't bad enough, West Glen Cabaret is the spot for the rhythm disabled to gather to shake, gyrate and get low.
Fridays are usually better because there's no DJ they just play music from a playlist and theres no dance floor. Just keep ordering those SHOTS SHOT SHOTS EVERYBODY!!! You won't even notice the music or the meatheads, you'll be occupied with the euphoria brought on by alcohol.
Something has to be wrong here. Â I'm the first to review Cab West?! Â What?!
This place is always hopping, no matter what night of the week it is. Â It is slower on a Sunday or random Tuesday, but there's always at least a small crowd. Â
Your love or hate of Cab West Glen depends on your scene. Â It's totally a meat market and a relatively young crowd. Â They have a large patio area with pool tables and some game machines, and you can smoke out there (love it or hate it). Â This area also encloses during the winter but still gives the outside feel. Â The inside has more of a trendy, lounge type atmosphere, and it tends to get extremely loud and crowded on the weekends.
Cab West has a wide selection of house martini's and a full bar, and I will say that they boast some of the best bartenders in the city (and I'm lukewarm on the place overall). Â The service is always quick and spot on.
