Short and sweet:
Food: 3 stars. Diverse menu, but a little expensive. Nice Happy hour specials
Service: 3 stars. Went on "trivia night" and hardly got asked about or food. And I guess it got busy because it took 10 minutes to bring the bill.
Ambience: 4 stars. You can't go wrong with the outdoor patio, the giant projector and individual TVs in each booth! Great for big games!
Would go back for a big game, once I acquire a taste for beer and loud drunk people, but only during happy hour.
i was a little young for the show Cheers, but the concept was not lost on me. I always feel that reference when I go to Caddies.
they always wave hi, they always know my drinks, and (shocker) theres always a friendly ex boyfriend of mine or two there. it really is THAT bar.
maybe I'm not the fanciest girl, but I appreciate bar food for what it is. this is bar food at its finest. i've found myself craving a hot club, garlic parmesan wings, bbq chicken pizza, and DEFINITELY their amazing wheelbarrow full of tots. do normal people crave bar food? Â
whether its happy hour or closing this place down, I always have a great time and I always know i'll be back.
I come here a decent amount for events, sports, or just drinks with friends. Â They really do have good food specials throughout the week and keep it varying. Â The bartenders are nice, waitresses are friendly, but doesn't change the fact that it's bar food. Â I do like the atmosphere here during the week when I go to grab a beer, but there is better bars to go to if you want food as well.
Review Source:Great local sports themed watering hole. Â Cute waitresses. Â Good happy hour beer specials. Â Great bar food (try the tater tots with cheese and bacon). Â Even the wings are surprisingly good. Â Food prices are a bit on the high side IMO. Â Something like $11 for a burger. Â Wings are $12. Â Prices went up with the new menu but, hey, the food is good. Â I guess most folks are drunk enough not to care by the time they start ordering food.
Some evenings it can get a bit wild with a young crowd. Â There's a more local, older crowd around happy hour. Â They're open for lunch, too.
I would be pretty wary of this place. They have a reputation of doing some shady things with credit cards. I went with a buddy and the waiter/bartender felt entitled to run a few extra dollars as an extra tip for himself, on top of what we gave him. If you do go, make sure you take your copy of the receipt and check your bank statement.
Review Source:awesome happy hour $1.84 bud light draft, $8 pithcers (cheaper to order by the glass) Appetizers are 30% off, the wings koren bbq flavor are good, spinach dips not bad. Lots of electronic games to play, golf, putt putt, bean bags, and the little games with photo hunt word dojo, beer pong haha against a pirate.
Cheap happy hour, lots of tvs, great bar. The outdoor patio will be open soon can't wait to sit outside, downside is obviously second hand smoke.
Will be back for some more happy hour beers and food!
For a bar, this place is pretty decent. Â Really good music mix, and at a volume which seemed reasonable given it being a Sat. night after 9. Â Excellent food! Â For the hummus - NICE sized serving. Â And the create your own salad is the bestest. Â Super yum. Fast and friendly service. Â Neat tables where you can set the TV to whatever you want. Â No complaints. Â Only reason for 4 stars versus 5 is because it's a little shabby looking, enough so that I wouldn't have given it a chance if I hadn't been here for an event. Â But I'm glad I came, and I'd come back!
Review Source:Recently having made changes to their menu- Caddies still remains a top Bethesda spot to grab a drink and enjoy some great music. Â If you make your way into the first floor's backroom on a game day, you'll fawn over the giant projection screen TV and the individual TVs at every table. Â
The tots were totes crispy (as they should be) and were generously covered with well cooked bacon, cheese, and a surprisingly wonderful chili. Â I know, your heart just sunk...from disease. Â That's what bar munchies are though! Â Surely a mainstay for Bethesda-ites - we cant wait until the weather is nice enough to lounge on the two enormous patios.
Caddies gets extra points from this guy for serving mixed drinks in pint glasses! Â If I'm ordering a mixed drink, it's because I don't want to taste the liquor. That's just the honest truth :). Â I have to go back and try this Crab Mac N Cheese Hot Dog. Â Yes, there were no typos in that last sentence: Crab Mac N Cheese Hot Dog. Â I'll update you soon!
I will never come back to Caddies again. I am not usually one to give bad reviews, but this was an exceptional experience. The night started off well, bar hopping in bethesda till we ended up at Caddies. Our group of about 7 girls and 3 guys entered and headed straight upstairs for some beverages (I was on a water diet, so was sober the entire night). Around 1am, everyone was ready to call it a night so people started heading out while my friend, lets call him Smith, who is a doctor at a National hospital in the area, went up to the bar to pay his bill... harmless enough right? Not so much. He paid his tab, signed his bill, but was never given his card back. When he asked for his card back the bar manager freaked out saying that he hadn't paid his tab and wouldn't get his card back till he paid his bill, to which he pulled out his receipt showing that he had. After that what happened is literally beyond comprehension to me. 3 bouncers/bar backs started attacking Smith, punching him in the back/chest/face while holding his arms behind his back so he could not defend himself. Meanwhile, his girlfriend is screaming and crying while another bouncer is holding her back preventing her from defending/helping Smith. They threw them both outside, flung the card at the ground all while issuing some profanities, and left them on the street to process what happened. Smith's gf called us crying hysterically because Smith couldn't mentally talk to us at that point due to him being so shaken up (literally this guy has never gotten into a fight in his entire life). Cops were called and the incident was reported.
Long story short, I will never return to Caddies and neither will any of my friends, and legal action is being pursued. Please do yourself a favor and find a different spot to hang out at, trust me there are plenty, because a night out could turn out to a police report and getting beaten up by a bunch of ego maniac bouncers/bartenders with nothing better to do.
Came here on Monday night to watch football and for a friends bday.. The place was packed so you can imagine the service was anything but good, in fact I asked for a glass of water 3 times so I ended up going to the bar to get one myself. You would think that since I ordered food the server would think I need water or some drink other than alcohol to go with it. The prices are pretty high too for a bar I ordered the chicken tenders that came with fries but for added $2 they put cheese on the fries so in total it was $15 kind of steep for the portion size and the cheese wasn't cheesy, but the tenders were good. I also ordered the veggie pizza it was pretty good as well.. Overall I had a good time that's why I gave this place 3 stars. But the service needs improving or hire/schedule more people on game nights!
Review Source:Three and a half stars. Super chill neighborhood bar with outside patio space out front and up top. Tellies lining the ground floor bar, serviced by Chris the friendly bartender. Spotted a Rob Lowe lookalike at the bar. Free comedy open mic nights every second Wednesday upstairs at 8 pm. Half the taps are tolerable (312 Urban wheat, Heavy Seas Loose Cannon, Flying Dog Underdog Atlantic lager, Goose Island IPA) and slushy options in the form of rumrunner, pina colada, and margarita. Typical bar grub: pizza, sliders, sandwiches, finger foods. French dip was okay, not too guilt-inducing and with fries that were coated, crisped, and herbed. I'll have to try the BBQ pork and reuben next month.
Review Source:A couple of months ago I hosted a fundraiser here for a local charity and Caddie's was very helpful. They have a special deal that when you host your happy hour there, they will give you 10% of all proceeds during the time of your fundraiser. You are also allowed to sell wrist bands for discounted drinks and have raffles. Seeing as they were one of more accommodating bars for a fundraising happy hour, I would highly suggest talking to them if you wish to do that sort of fundraiser.
Other than that, it was a standard bar. There was tons of space and ample outdoor seating. I never made it upstairs so I have no idea what it was like up there.
The food was your standard bar food. There are burgers and and various appetizers. I tried their hummus platter, which was HUGE. Too bad it didn't taste that great. Note to self: stop eating hummus at restaurants unless they are Mediterranean cause you will be disappointed.
Anyway, Caddie's is great for happy hour fundraisers and happy hours in general. I probably wouldn't eat dinner here though.
I wish I could come up with a better word to describe Caddies, but Douche-tastic seems to fit it the best. Â The people are super obnoxious and loud and love to chug the not-so-cheap buckets of light beer. Â If you're still unclear about what I mean by that, take a look at this...
<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fblogs.villagegreen.com%2Fcolumbus%2Ffiles%2F2010%2F06%2Fpoppedcollar.jpg&s=96066411b46d89f8f5f03647ecf26e30e1ca124febffcaa3b449eb57c53ccd03" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://blogs.villagegree…</a>
That's pretty average clientele. Â
The bartenders aren't too bad and the food is surprisingly good but I hate everything else about this place. Â I try to avoid it any way I can. Â I'll tell you about a couple things that stood out to me as particular turnoffs. Â
Once when I got there with two female friends, the bouncer informed us that it is one-in-one-out at the moment because they are extremely full. Â This was clearly not the case, as any casual observer would notice from looking in through the huge windows. Â But I put that aside because I didn't want to make a big deal of it. Not more than 2 minutes later, two girls get out of a cab and walk right into the bar after saying hello to the bouncer. Â I ask him what the deal is and he says, "They're regulars, you expect me to turn away regulars?" Â Hell yes!! If it's actually because of some kind of safety consideration you're damn right I do.
My last bad experience was when I foolishly bought a Groupon thinking that at least I could assemble a group of people who would want to get a drink there early in the night and then go somewhere much better for the remainder of the night. Â But that was optimistic because no one I know wanted to go. Â Finally, my girlfriend reluctantly agreed to accompany me and we went for dinner around 6:30. Â There were maybe 6 other people in the place and the TVs were deafeningly loud for no apparent reason. Â Our waitress gets us some water and beer and says she'll be back in a minute to take our order. Â 20 minutes later I'm finally able to flag her down. Â Her excuse for not being there "I'm sorry, I totally spaced out." Â I wish I was making that line up.
It is what it is: Cold beer, bar food, sports on the TVs. Caddie's is a great place to hang out with friends. Good mix of people, strong drinks. Haven't tried the food, but it looks like typical bar fare.
EDIT: OK, Caddie's loses a star for it's ID policy. We had a bunch of guests from out of state (all over 21) who were not allowed in because their IDs were vertical, not horizontal. Unlike Maryland, many states take years to provide horizontal IDs to people even after they have turned 21. Needless to say, we took our group's business elsewhere. Beware 20-somethings with vertical IDs, you will not be allowed in.
Still like Caddie's but what a downer.
We came to get some food and watch Game 7. We sat at a table in the back.
The food was decent, and came in huge portions, which is always good. The bacon+cheese tater tot appetizer was absolutely massive -- and fried to greasy perfection. The PBR was cheap, at least.
Otherwise, the wait service at our table was pretty slow. And the place was noisy and full of bros. Didn't thrill me.
You have to seat yourself.
My mom, brother, and me sat in the middle of the dining room. There were lots of TVs mounted on the walls, two with the same channel on, but some were different. Good variations.
The waitress was nice, but the food was not.
The crab cake slider tasted way too salty for my taste buds. The pulled pork was mediocre as well as the roast beef and meatball slider. The fries on the side tasted like frozen fries. I did not enjoy them. The BBQ Grilled Chicken on top of the pizza was good, but the crust was too soggy to chew. Lastly, the wings were the best. I tried the garlic parmasean, which were okay, I couldn't really taste the garlic. I could see it. The honey bbq flavor was much better.
I would not come back again.
You will like Caddie's if:
-You are a guy that likes to wear pastel/striped polo shirts, khaki shorts/pants, and loafers. Bonus points if your shirt is pastel AND striped.
-You don't like being able to hear what your friends are saying because it's so, like, totally loud in there.
-You know what TSM and TFM mean AND everything you do is a TSM/TFM.
-If you grew up in the area and you want to run into everyone from your high school. Especially if you want to see those depressingly fratty guys that gained 20 pounds from tons of beer
If these do not apply to you, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Take your dignity and individuality, pat yourself on the back, and walk on to another bar.
Definitely the best sports bar around the area that I've gone to. Â The wings are good, but pass on the burgers and nachos. Â Also sitting in the tv section can be hit or miss in terms of service. Â
Odd thing: I thought today's server was good, but some of my friends didn't like her spunk. Â I think she grouped me with their opinion and yelled something at me as I left alone. Â So I guess it was good up to that point if that's how it went down. Â Just a weird end to the night. Â I don't blame her though, she was cute!
Still recommend this place if you're looking to watch any sports in Bethesda. Â Each booth has a good quality tv too.
I finally got around to trying more of the food and not just the beer :) Â Sliders, chicken fingers, and the burgers are amazing. Â Wings are pretty good too( but i don't really like wings so I am not the best judge). Â I have had the pizza once or twice and for a place that isn't really known for pizza, it was great. Â I still think that Caddies has the best cheese fries anywhere, hands down. Â
If you are coming here to watch a game you are in luck! Â There are t.v.'s every where and even a big screen in the back room. Â Come early to stake out your spot!
I was lucky enough to attend Caddies for their weekly Sausage Festival tonight. Â After reading all these comments about Caddies being the business casual fraternity party, I was actually pretty excited. Â I mean, who doesn't love a good party?
Everything that was said in all these reviews is probably true. Â This place is the dive of Bethesda. Â The beer is cheap and the food is low quality bar food that has more grease than nutritional value. Â You could sooner pass off road kill as an appetizing meal than half the crap on their menu.
I probably won't frequent this place, unless I am dragged there by friends. Â Seriously, what is appealing except some sad desire to relive your college days?
I keep coming back to this place so I can't exactly hate on it. However the waiter/waitress service at the tables is horrible, and mixed drinks (never order a margarita here) are pretty nasty. I ordered a red bull bomb and they brought me the glass with all the contents already in the drink... isn't that a mixed drink, which is not what I ordered??
The bear selection is pretty good though and they do have the occasional deal, which is fantastic. If your a sports fan I would definitely recommend Caddies to watch football on Sundays with your friends, but I wouldn't really consider it a place I would want to go to on a Friday or Saturday night. Especially not for a date. In fact, if someone took me there on a date, it probably would be the last one.
Love the bouncers though!!
Review is for the upstairs bar and comedy night only. 2.5 stars.
Came here on a Wednesday night to check out the DC Underground Comedy Festival (I guess every first Wednesday of the month). Â The bar area upstairs is fairly small...it had some stools around the bar, three booths, and some tables with bar stools around them. Â They were still setting up for the event, so I decided to grab a drink. Â They had a "special" going on, which was a pitcher of Millter Lite for $8. Â But, if I recall the menu correctly, that was regular price. Â Oh well, still a good deal for a pitcher! Â Opted for a vodka cran ($5), which was served in a pint glass (not a tumbler)...score!
As for the comedy show...ummmmm let's just say there wasn't much laughing going on. Â They had probably 15 or so local comedians do stand up, and man did this event drag! Â I know I should have just left, but I'm a sucker and couldn't be rude...especially since proceeds made from the bar were going to The Children's Inn. Â They were NOT funny. Â Out of all the comedians that went up there, probably only two or three had me cracking up. Â All the jokes they cracked seemed to be about black people or women. Â Eh.
I wouldn't recommend coming here to watch the comedy show...unless it's to support a good cause. Â You're probably better off just coming here another night to grab a couple drinks instead.
omgggg this place gives me nightmares.... I hate hate hate this place. It's like a frat party you didn't want to go to, but someone told you there would be a lot of alcohol, so you gave in. Yes, it's a bar... so there is a lot of alcohol... but that's where the good things stop.
It IS a frat party. People here are often too wasted to be considerate or polite. I was paying my bill on the first floor once when some girl crowdsurfed right over me to get to the bar, knocking my bill, pen, and credit card out of my hands, then declining to (a) apologize or (b) help me find my stuff in the dark. This is not unusual... this is how most people who go here behave.
The ONLY somewhat redeeming factor is that the outside upstairs level is usually a little less crowded... you can most likely find a seat... but typically only if its not during the popular times in the summer. Try to go outside in December when it's 32 degrees (if they keep it open) and you may get lucky.
By the way - the po-po's stalk this place like no other. If you park in the garage next to Caddie's, take a left out and go out to Old Georgetown versus Wisconsin. I have seen way too many promising youngsters outed by the cops once they made that fated right hand turn out of the garage.
It's a sports bar. The beers are cold, the food is typical bar fare, the music is mediocre and the place is packed with people who look like they never wanted to leave college.
Truthfully, there's not a diverse crowd, so if that's what you're looking for - head into DC. You'll have much better luck.
So everytime I goto DC to visit my bestfriend, I find myself in this warm establishment. Â Maybe it's the fact that there are in fact, a lot of beautiful women in Bethesda. Â I swear it's a 34C requirement to live up there. Â Maybe it's the fact that they have a decent selection of beer on tap. Â Maybe it's the fact that I actually think they have above average bar food fare. Â Or.... Â maybe it's the fact that they make Jager bombs properly.
Who really knows and I have probably already forgotten most of the good stuff due to alcohol consumption anyways. Â
They have a solid bar staff... Â Meaning the two/three bartenders know their shit, don't wait for your beer to be empty, and make an effort to converse with the lowly patrons. Â Particularly the one like me that decides around 10:30pm on a Friday, October 2nd.... Â "Shots for everyone!!! Â Who wants some." Â Did that same stupid shite at McFadden's that Sat nite too. Â I'm an idiot.
When it's warm out, they have a fun patio as well. Â And, after 3 years of visiting this place, I discovered the 2nd floor. Â How did I never see this part of Caddies? Â Sheesh. Â Creature of habit I guess. Â
So yes, I recommend this place as a fun place to go drink, watch sports, and people watch in overly wealthy Bethesda. Â My lowly Atlanta paycheck can afford beer here. Â I will be back and probably before the end of the year.
Therefore, if you like never-ending beer (just make sure you keep eyes on your tab... Â $150 can happen in a blink.), perfectly made Jager bombs, nachos that will knock your socks off, the 34C Happy Hour group, and just a fun overall place, then venture forth to Caddies!
Ok, ok...so Caddie's is nothing impressive, but it's always a place where you can enjoy yourself.
While I would probably never choose Caddie's as my Friday or Saturday night destination, it's a pretty cool place to drink a few beers and pal around with your buddies.
If you go, I would recommend hanging out on the top floor. In fact, my rating is based 90% on my experiences on the second level. Thursday-Saturday nights on the main level can feel packed, and reminiscent of a college bar - just not as messy and without dancing. I would not recommend unless you come for dinner and are seated at the outside patio, or in the back dining area.
The top floor has a semi-roofed patio that is a great place to hang out. After our Saturday morning/afternoon football games, Social Sports of Bethesda always offer some great food and drink specials to people that are part of the league - $8 Miller Lite pitchers, tasty sliders, wings, nachos...typical bar food, albeit good, typical bar food.
Spontaneous games of flip cup always emerge after football games. I bet some people spend their entire afternoons here, watching games on TV, ordering pitchers and hanging out with friends.
After two pitchers between friends, I had to get out of there. One more, and we would have been sucked into the abyss that is flip cup.
If I had to choose between a night at Union Jack's on St. Elmo or Caddies on Cordell, hands down, I'd pick Caddies.
Perhaps my experience was a tad unique since we were in the upstairs bar area for a "farewell" happy hour for one of my co-workers but I had a decently good time here. Our bartender was really friendly, efficient and willing to make new drink concoctions at the suggestion of some of my co-workers.
There were also half-price appetizers going on so that was a pretty good deal. I ended up getting the sliders sans fries (gave up fried food for Lent). My only beef (haha) with the sliders was that they put ketchup and mustard on them for you. I do not like either condiment so I had to scrape it off and made a mess but oh well. They were still pretty tasty.
I have no idea how much my food / drinks ended up costing because my branch manager showed up and put everyone's tab on his card but I think everything was very reasonably priced.
I didn't go to the downstairs area but I really liked it upstairs. The booths each had its own HDtv for watching sports games and there were a couple other bigger tvs around the room. There is an outdoor deck area which I imagine fills up pretty quickly in the warmer months.
I could totally see myself coming back in the spring/summer and enjoying a beer on the deck.
You honestly cannot knock this bar. It's a staple of the Bethesda community. This place sort of reminds me of the bar on the TV show "Cheers" Where everybody knows your name..
It's a really fun place if you are a local or went to undergrad in the area. They also sponsor Social Sports of Bethesda and give the league killer drink specials on game days. The food is also top notch for a bar. Try the chix buffalo salad or the pretzel dipped in cheese. It's great for a hang over.
I awarded four stars because if you sit down the service is pretty moderate. A lot of waitresses are too busy checking themselves out in the mirrors to serve you your food in a timely fashion. The bloody Mary bar on Sundays also leaves much to be desired.
HOWEVER, the bartenders are the best that Bethesda has to offer.
As a social sports bar, Caddies on Cordell works. Â Don't go to this place looking for high sophistication, go for having some beer with other late 20's, early 30's folk, maybe grabbing some average pub fare and watching a game. Â The place features two outdoor sitting areas, one upstairs and downstairs, as well as an individual bar for each level. Â The food is good for the typical sports bar, but again, it's hard to find much under $10. Â Service here is above par for your typical sports bar, with bartenders being very friendly and very quick.
A quick note: you have to be 21 to get into this joint(don't bring your fakes as they have a license scanner), or else they will escort you out, as I witnessed on Friday night. Just a warning to those younger folk.
Caddies is what it is : a sports bar for watching local college games and Redskins/Wizards, and to a lesser extent the Caps. Â The best times to go are
1) Saturdays after SSB football games. Â They have awesome food and beer specials if you wear your shirt from the game. Â Â Super cheap omelette's, mini-burgers, and pulled pork sliders. Â I believe the pitchers are only 6 or 7 bucks too. Â
2) Thursday nights. Â My Thursday night social life is a dagger because we have weekly meetings on Friday at 7 am, but on the rare occasions I can tag along with my Friends, this is the place to me. Â yes it is a meat market, but this is where the talent in Bethesda goes on Thursdays. Â
I've also enjoyed a few Terps football games here, and 1 "night before thanksgiving" where it seemed my entire High School was out. Â
For a time my friends and I referred to it as "Bentleys South", because it has a ton of former UMD 20 somethings at pretty much all times.
The bartenders are always really cool, and the food is above average for a sports bar. Â The people that knock Caddies are a little harsh I think, you just have to have realistic expectations for it.
I'll be honest, I had BIG doubts about Caddie's before going in. I've rolled by on numerous occasions when the patio has been overrun by guys who all seemed to be in competition for the title of Maryland Frat Boy Archetype. Now I went to Maryland, and I love Maryland, but frat dudes at Maryland-- with their text book sort-of good looks, overt sense of entitlement, loud mouths and soft brains-- aren't really my idea of a good time. Pairing that crowd and a Bethesda location, and I had pretty much written Caddie's off as someplace I was never going to go.
A couple weeks back, however, I really wanted to watch both a Raiders game (Raiders, baby!) and a Bills game (Marshawn Lynch, baby!) and after surveying the bar options I settled on Caddie's because it was close and the staff swore on the phone they would have both games. For those reasons alone I went in, and was pleasantly surprised.
I don't know what Caddie's is like when it's not a football Sunday (nor do I want to know, honestly), but for football it's really pretty good. The bar and dining area both have numerous quality TV's, including one large projection screen. The game schedule for the TVs was clearly outlined on the door, so you could find where you wanted to be easily and didn't have to fight with someone else over what game to watch.
The dining room seating was crowded but not over run, the other patrons were friendly and not overtly fratboy-y, and given the crowd the room noise was surprisingly manageable. The dining room bench seats were comfortable, the tables were spacious, and the staff was attentive without being bitchy when we didn't really order a hell of a lot during our four hours there.
We didn't get a lot of food or drinks, but we did order a plate of nachos and asked that half have black beans and half have refried. The waitress split the order willingly and brought out two enormous plates of nachos-- so big we had to ask her if she had actually placed two orders. She hadn't. Soda refills were free, which was generous since most people were there for several hours and nursing sodas along with their adult beverages. Our vodka crans (yeah, boring, I know) were decently stiff and not outrageously priced.
I was really quite pleased with my experience at Caddie's and would willingly go back to watch football or another sports event. Caddie's happy hour on a summer night, however, still ain't gonna be my cup of tea.
Caddie's has Silver Strike Bowling. Â That alone makes this place totally awesome! Â
So the BF, his friends and I came over here after our mediocre meal at Black Finn. Â Grabbed a table and had a really sweet server who took good care of us. Â The guys had beer and I had another bloody mary. Â Bloody mary was SPOT ON - spicy and yummy. Â Since we got jipped on the nachos at the other place, we decided to order nachos here. Â OMG!! Â The biggest pile of goodness on chips ever! Â Now these are how nachos should be done. Â Black bean sauce, two kinds of cheese broiled until melty on good chips, topped with HUGE dollops of sour cream, guac and pico de gallo. Â Our server even gave us a side cup of chili since the BF is vegetarian (the giant vegetarian boyfriend) and I don't eat beef. Â The other two guys thought this was awesome.
We hung out, played some silver strike, and just enjoyed ourselves. Â As the night moved on, it got really crowded, but not in a crazy way. Â Everyone was enjoying themselves and we had a blast.
The only thing I don't like about Caddie's is the women's bathroom situation. Â Seriously, when that place gets crowded, there's a lot of people in there. Â That means a lot of girls who have to use the facilities. Â Two bathroom stalls for all those girls is really not nice. Â So if you're there and it's crowded, plan on waiting a while to use the bathroom - DON'T wait until you're about to burst or you'll be sorry.
Overall though, Caddie's does the sports bar thing right. Â Good food, good prices, good atmosphere. Â Even better in the summer on that roof deck.
OK, it's true, at times this place is definitely a meat market. But I'm single, is there anything wrong with me knowing which places to go when having a girly self-esteem day?
I used to work in Bethesda, and was a pretty big fan of coming here for happy hours after work, and just recently I returned for old times sakes with a former co-worker, and we had a blast.
Honestly though, this is one of those places where you have to be somewhat intoxicated to enjoy, otherwise it just looks like an upscale frat party.
Girls, come here to get hit on. Straight males, it's definitely a, how do you say, sausage fest.
I haven't eaten the food here but I can imagine it's a lot like the douchebags who tend to frequent this place - greasy and nausea-inducing. Joking aside, Caddie's is the type of place to go to if you're into any of the following:
painting yourself for a sporting event, Pearl Jam, Maxim, dating strippers, taglines such as "git 'er done!"
If it's a friendly pub you're looking for, walk a few blocks down to Harp & Fiddle.
***Update***I generally like this place, but the tall ID guy up front touched tapped my boys ass. Â They don't know each other and he didn't mistake him for someone else cause he just looked at his ID. Â It was weird, but I laughed at my friend all night.
When the sun is shining and the weekend is nearing put your drinking shoes on cause it's happy hour at Caddie's. Â Caddie's on Thurday and Friday evenings are alot of fun. Â Great outdoor seating if you're lucky to get a table. Â Inside, it like your old college bar. Â Same decor. Â Same Golden Tee machine. Â Same old guy that hasn't realized people his age drink some where else. Â Crowds are usually not too bad, but if it's after 10 there usually a line to get in. Â The food is average mediocre bar food. Â You have your generic burgers, over cooked chicken fingers, and the epitome of bar foods the taco salad (10,000 calories but still counts as eating a salad). Â But no one comes for the food. Â You come for hot girls, stiff drinks and drunk rides home.

Food is ok -- not sure I would come here to eat again -- even with the $7.99 lunch specials.
Good happy hour place -- the deck is nice -- not sure about the patio with the dumpsters sharing the same space -- I am amazed that someone decided that was a good idea or even passable......might be better sitting upstairs on the deck.
