I LOVE this place!! I've never had a bad meal at Cafe Terracotta. The atmosphere is inviting (inside an old historic home), the food it to die for, and the wait staff is friendly and always goes above and beyond expectations. Breakfast if very reasonably priced for such a high quality of the food. Dinner is alittle pricier but totally worth it!
Review Source:My husband and I came her for Valentine's Day dinner and there were still reservations available which was nice (so not "too" popular). It is a very small, intimate restaurant. It is a converted old house so it has a dark cozy vibe to it, which I liked. Although street parking close to downtown Littleton is kinda scarce. It's not super dressy (some people were wearing flannels & fleece... still CO I guess) but it is upscale enough that you can dress up for a night out and not stick out too much. They have a full bar with a fun cocktail list that is like "downtown" without having to trek all the way down to Denver, as well as a decent-ish wine list.
The reason I came here though were the gluten free options. They clearly mark on the MAIN menu which items are gluten free or can be altered to be gluten free, so you don't have to ask for a special GF menu. While their menu is really small, about half of it was GF friendly. Their prices are a little high, but the portions are decent for what you get, though don't expect to pig out or be full if you are a really big guy. The food was flavorful and creative, so I will be back. Â
They also have a pretty good looking patio, so I am excited to come back here during summer months.
This place had been in my bookmarks for a long time and I finally made it for dinner one night to catch up with a friend. Â It was easy to make a reservation on Open Table and they saved a nice, big booth for us even though we were just a table of 2. Â
Our server was great. Â She dropped by frequently enough to ensure our needs were met and did not rush us out the door when we were done. Â She was also very informative about the specials and other questions we had. Â
I opted for the seared scallops over salami risotto. Â It was phenomenal! Â The scallops were cooked just right. Â The salami added a nice little something to the risotto. Â And, it had micro greens on top so I could pretend I was being healthier than I was. Â My friend got the lamb burger with blue cheese in it. Â We shared and it was also delicious. Â And, the fries that came with it were thin and crispy, just how I like them. Â I do think his meal was a bit overpriced (it was the same as my scallops), but he thoroughly enjoyed it and didn't balk at the price.
It's not inexpensive, but the pricing is certainly in line with the quality of food and experience. Â I would come back here in a heartbeat and really want to do so to try their brunch.
I have been meaning to check this place out for a while. Found it here on Yelp. So we went on Saturday for lunch. We were seated right away and promptly greated by a great wait person, Brent. This is a very cozy place, the decor makes you feel at home. Can't wait to come back in warm weather to eat outside. My husband had the French toast and said it was good. I had the chicken brie flatbread sandwich. It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a restaurant. The chicken was moist and tender, the flatbread crispy and warm. Even the side salad was great, very fresh mixed greens. At $13, the sandwich was pricey for lunch, but you get what you pay for. We'll be back.
Review Source:One only needs to look at the rating distribution, and be somewhat familiar with Yelp to know a lot of people thinks this place kicks some tail. Â
I've only ever had breakfast, full disclosure. So with this review I'm just adding to the high score, so short and sweet. A treasure in a historic house in Littleton. The food is modern fusion of an American bistro. If your in Littleton this is a top spot for great, atmosphere, food and service.
The best breakfast place on the SW side of town that I've found. Good ingredients without that you can tell were crafted together carefully. Seems like so many places have the same greasy nondescript flavor when it comes to breakfast. That was not the case today at Terracotta. This is my new favorite spot. Well done!
Review Source:One of the best little places in Littleton. The service is usually wonderful and the ambiance is cute and quaint. It's a small space so it would be best to plan on a short wait. During the summer, the outdoor patio is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the Colorado sun.
I personally love the Pear, Ham and Brie omelet for breakfast! Their baked goods are also delicious!
So, I've been here twice now, and it's pretty good. I rate it a 3, maybe a 3.5, but I really can't go higher than that. I really want to, but I just can't...
Nice atmosphere, and I've pretty good service both times, but it hasn't been stellar. All of the food items I've had have been good and well done, but nothing that blows my mind.
So, yeah, it's a good place, but I haven't found anything really "special" about it yet. I sometimes balk at some items on the menu because of price, and who knows, some of those items may be amazing... I'm sure I will try some of them the next time I go, so I may update my review. But again, it's good, not bad by any means. Just missing something for me.
Not quite sure if I/we hit this place on an off night or what but as a professional chef, I can tell you that the food is grossly overpriced for the level of execution that is being presented.
$23 dollars for three silver dollar sized scallops over a salami risotto that had absolutely no seasoning what so ever. The scallops were undercooked (A shocker truly) and lacked proper seasoning. Cold red grape accompaniment with a undressed watercress salad that had absolutely no business being on that plate. Clearly meant to be a garnish, but any professional chef will tell you that you never put anything on a plate that you do not expect people to eat. The risotto was flat even with hunks of salami in it and tasted like it was made with water instead of the proper stock.
My wife had the curried Thai prawns over "infused" jasmine rice ($25) The curry was bland and flavorless, not to mention mealy from god knows what. The prawns were blatantly over cooked and the "infused jasmine rice" had little no flavor or seasoning at all. Obviously not made with stock just like the risotto I mentioned above.
The only two beef or even red meat items on the menu were the Beef Wellington ($33) and the tenderloin with standard steak accompaniments (also $33). The rest of the very small menu was equally as overpriced and honestly this menu felt like it was trying to be avant garde but fell rather short, and made you wonder about execution with the ingredients being used.
The wine was at the standard 300% mark up from market price. Obviously they were understaffed for the evening, our server was doing the best he could possibly do with the amount of tables and lack of bus staff in the dining room. The manager stood around all night watching his server get slaughtered and basically only ran two plates in the time we were there.
Personally I will save my money next time and invest in a place that has a level of quality that I expect with the amount of money being charged.
Never eaten here. My review is purely regarding my request to surprise my father with a celebratory bottle of champagne for his birthday. Called this past saturday late afternoon, explained what I wanted to do, spoke with a manager, he agreed to take my order,,my credit card number, and present the champagne upon arrival of my fathers party of four. Seemed competent and even reviewed how he and his staff would handle my request.
Fast forward to Sunday, call my folks (who didn't even know I knew where they were eating) ask about their evening, nothing.
Called the restaurant, and a female manager answers, clear they are slammed, she gets my info and calls me back after her brunch rush.
She takes full responsibility for her coworkers completely blowing a simple request that would have been a special moment for my parents. Says no excuse, I was never charged. I get it, she didn't do it, but I never felt like she was passing the buck, she was professional. The other guy, who couldn't execute an $86 bottle of champagne for his restaurant and $20 tip for the server, well this snapshot obviously makes me want to offer him some advise. Find a job you care about, and don't tell someone you are going to take care of something unless you are actually going to take care of it. I don't live in Colorado anymore, but I grew up 2 miles from this restaurant and reading the reviews would have tried it, not now, not ever.
We've been coming her for about 6 years now. Â I always feel at home at the Cafe. Â I took my husband for the first time for breakfast. Â We had a wonderful meal as always. Â Lunch is fantastic and their Louthan Salad is amazing. Â I love the sweet little house, the patio outside and the service staff is top notch! Â I have been here for dinner and it too is just as lovely. Â They have a great wine list. Â I would recommend dinner for special occasions for sure. Â Thank you Cafe Terracotta for providing DTL (Down Town Littleton) with such a special place. Â Muah!
Review Source:I work just a few blocks away from this restaurant, so it has become a regular lunch spot for me. Let me tell you, it doesn't get much better than sitting in the Denver sunshine and chatting with co-workers over lunch on the Cafe Terracotta patio. My personal favorites are the wraps. Specifically, the veggie wrap. My-oh-my, what a lot of flavor they manage to pack in that sweet little nugget of vegetables. Try it. You won't be disappointed. If sandwiches and wraps aren't for you, they also have fantastic breakfast dishes served all day.
In addition to my weekly lunches on the patio, I've also dined inside a time or two. The dinner selection is just as spectacular. Everyone I bring here ends up raving about their meal, and the service is always phenomenal. The only advice I have is to call ahead if you are going for dinner. As it is a fairly small place, you may have to wait if you arrive unannounced. But don't worry if you forget- it will be worth the wait. I promise.
I was here with a bunch of friends. I had the fish tacos which were quite good and the portions overall are quite large.
The decor is great. The cool old red brick house is very warm and inviting. This is one of the nicest patio's in town too. Too bad their beer list is pedestrian. It would make a great beer garden. Oh well. In all, the place is excellent.
There isn't a bad thing to say about Cafe Terracotta. The ambience was great, service was fantastic, and the food and cocktails were all wonderful! We went for dinner after checking out the menu online and have added it to the list of restaurants that we want to visit for brunch, lunch, and dinner. It's a small setting in an old home with tables on the wrap-around porch and walls filled with local artwork. All three of us had a different dish and all three were fantastic. My husband and I actually switched dishes halfway through because while we both loved our own entrees, we also loved the other's as well. If you're in Littleton or want to go somewhere out of the city, I Â highly recommend you check out Cafe Terracotta. We'll be back again and again.
Review Source:came here for lunch earlier this summer...how had I not come here before?! It was SO HARD to pick just one thing off the menu to eat, everything just sounded so good! I ended up getting the Pike's Peak burger...wow it was soo good. Too much to eat in one sitting though, had to bring home leftovers! If you want to go here, you're in for a real treat!
Review Source:We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Cafe Terracotta, and it could not have been more perfect. Per our agreement, we had agreed to only rent out the restaurant for 2 hours, so they could continue with their dinner service after. Once we were were there, and we the time was quickly passing with our 45 guests enjoying, the manager let us know not to worry and enjoy our time with no penalty to us. It was such a nice relief and unexpected, and it was very much appreciated.
The food was fantastic and the menu that the manager and the chef put together could not have been better. Along with the food, the service was wonderful and it made for a very special rehearsal dinner evening.
I would highly recommend Cafe Terracotta to anyone for event or for a quite dinner out.
This is a great place! Â Small and unique setting. Great service from the GM all the way down. Â Great chef. Â The sauces they make here are amazing. Â Prices are right but don't be confused this is a high end restuarant and for that the prices are right.
They make an outstanding bloody mary and have a very nice wine list. Â I don't see how you could go wrong with anything you order here.
I backed off of giving places a 5 star review unless I had a 100% all around great experience. Cafe Terracotta did not disappoint.
*This adorable restaurant off Main street Littleton lives in a redone Victorian home, it offers a nice garden patio and cozy interior.
*Our server was attentive, helpful, and had the perfect amount of chatter for a group of friends who have not seen each other for a while.
*The food was wonderful. All four of us had a sandwich and salad combo; mine was a Cranberry-feta salad and turkey Reuben.
*Prices are perfect for what you get.
*The creme brulee was probably the best I have ever had; one shared by four disappeared in a heartbeat.
*Breakfast is served at lunch which is a favorite.
So, I Â have listed 6 things that made me happy. A 5 star review.
Our Valentine's day dinner was so stinking good. Â I ordered the grilled beef tenderloin with wine and mushroom sauce, melting Brie, rosemary mashed potatoes, and buttered carrots. Â The mushroom sauce was perfect - flavorable yet not overpowering but a tad too salty. Â The melting brie was like a gourmet version of a mozzarella stick that went great over my mashed potatoes. Â The potatoes themselves were perfect - perfect consistency, perfect seasoning, and perfectly paired with the steak. Â I had the nanaimo bars for dessert and enjoyed them for the next several days.
The service was above average but I expected more. Â Our drinks sat empty several times, we had to flag down the server a few times, and the server did not offer to pour my husband's wine when the glass was getting low. Â It would take a little bit more to get a 5 star rating from me, but the food is so good that we will definitely be back.
I grew up in Littleton and was amazed at how much has changed in this little downtown.
Cafe Terracotta is an old downtown home that was renovated into a beautiful restaurant. Very inviting front lawn with patio seating and nice lighting. Inside you find a very comforting dining room with amble space and great ambiance.
If the decor was any indication we were set for a great dinner. Started the dinner with a couple Manager Fav's Martinis. Kettle One with Blue Cheese Olives. They were perfect and went down way too smooth.
So with a couple Martinis down you would think that the meal would be good no matter what. Yeah, you're probably right, but I was very happy with my fish and chips. The fish was Ono (Wahoo) was is different than I have ever had before. More dense, but worked perfect with the light batter. Delicious! The chips were seasoned potato wedges which were perfectly seasoned.
Overall, we had a great experience at Cafe Terracotta and will be back again. Littleton is the place to go! It's come a long way since Abe's cafe.
Here is one of my favorite places to go to, especially for outside seating. Â Beautiful landscape & garden amongst the many tables with umbrellas. Â The coffee is really good, it has to be for me. Â Coffee is the reason I wake up in the morning ... so it HAS to be worth it. Â Shade everywhere, so you most likely won't be in the sun if you are sitting outside.
And I like that since I don't live in downtown Denver, this place is halfway towards downtown for me, so it's not too far. Â The food is good, I haven't tried anything more than breakfast, so I can't comment on most of the food. Â Parking is close, plenty and free. Â It is near all of the great little independent shops in Littleton, which is also a great place to have a bit of a walk-about, especially if you mosey on over towards Main street's Lola's Sugar Rush on the corner for a cupcake and candy after your lunch or breakfast.
You'll love this place just like I do ... but please do not take my favorite spot on the porch near the end.
I'm a big fan of this restaurant. It's totally my kind of place. Charming, quaint, cozy, small, interesting.... We were hoping to sit out front on the porch (i.e. patio), but it was a little too windy. The patio is surely a big hit on nice weather days. Neat to overlook the garden while eating... I did really enjoy sitting inside though. I liked the ambience at dinner. There were quite a few larger groups of people there who looked to really be enjoying themselves. Most everyone was drinking wine or cocktails that I could see. Looked like the owner could have been behind the little bar making cocktails. It was cute watching him make drinks while interacting with the staff. Everyone working there seemed to have a really great attitude. Rare to find these days.
Our drinks were great, especially the Skinny Margaritas. Very refreshing and light.
We ordered the Grilled Beef Tenderloin and Shrimp Pasta. Both were perfectly prepared and well presented.
The dessert we had was not great. I think it was a strawberry cake. Nothing I would order again, but I'm not a cake person so I'm not the best critic. It was my grandmother's birthday so they brought it out for her, which was very sweet.
I will be dining here whenever I'm in town visiting!
We recently visit this place. It was a little cold out so the tables outside were out of commission. The inside of the restaurant was tiny, maybe 15-20 tables at most. However, I rather think it's cozy. It's like being in someone's house. It gives a very stylish, hip, young gay couple loft vibe. A tad noisy but that's not such a big deal.
On to the food. I have the habit of making tapa bar out of any restaurant by just ordering appitizers. this time, i ordered the calamari and the mussels. the calamari was very interesting. has almost corn meal crust and the flavor was right on. not the bland fried calamari you get at other restaurants. the dipping sauce which probably was just mayo with lemon was a great complement to the dish. usually i have to sqeeze all the lemon, sometimes even ones harvested from my water on calamari to make the blandness go away. this one, no need to mess with the master piece. the mussles were average. i probably wouldn't order it again, it's a bit salty and the mussles weren't in season so they were a bit small. my husband had the special, stuffed pork loin which was a pretty great dish.
we ordered the creambrulee for dessert. i usually share my dessert with my husband b/c they are usually too big. this one was too small for the two of us. partly b/c the ramekin was so shallow and partly b/c it was so good! it's a classic, perfect, crusty creambrulee. next time i'll order two desserts! i wish i did!
On to the service, we didn't have a reservation and i could see now that it was just dumb luck we got seated right away. after us, there were people waiting. i recommend making reservation. although, in the summer when the weather is nice, the tables outside would be open and double the size of the restaurant. might even be pleasent waiting outside with a glass of wine. our waitress who looks a bit like lisa rinna was very nice. she had perfect timing with all the food and services.
all in all, this is one of my favorite place now. atmosphere was nice, service was excellent and the food was very good. a little too pricey to be a place i go to every week or every month. our bill came to $70 without tip. but it was a good nice dinner out.
Cafe Terracotta is the perfect example why I love so many things.
- THIS is why I love Yelp. If you do not use it, you got to bc it will lead you to fantastic places like Cafe Terracotta.
Party of 5, pancakes to share to start, coffe and juice, entrees and a few sides total $81.00
YES YOU ARE READING THIS RIGHT, $81.00 FOR 5 PEOPLE FOR BRUNCH. CRAZY! Â THIS is why I LOVE dining in Denver.
THIS is why I love great Service. Tricia was FANTASTIC! The kitchen staff, from what we saw, all three of them, ROCKED IT! We were beyond impressed by the caliber of food that came out from the tiny open kitchen and being made by not a lot of hands.
Everything was truly delicious. Food, was as scrumptious as can be.
I enjoyed the Mediterranean Omelet (swiss cheese, spinach, mushrooms, red onions) with crispy hash browns and a side of Biscuits and Gravy. The omelet was perfection. The hash browns were how all hash browns should be served. The B&G's were the most refined b&g's I have ever had. Even a non b&G lover enjoyed them.
Setting, as soon as we pulled up to the large brick house that was lined with patio tables out front as well as front porch seating we were in love. Cute, quaint, rustic. The only thing that bothered me was that it was extremly loud but the jont was jammin. They take reservations via my second favorite website http://opentable.com but I wasn't able to get any points bc no resies were avay for our larger party size. BUT...We loved brunch so much a return visit for either lunch or dinner is totally in order.
What an adorable brunch spot in downtown Littleton!
My little sis has been raving about this restaurant for months now, and I finally had the opportunity to try it out for a family brunch this past weekend. The weather was overcast and a bit chilly so we didn't risk sitting on the patio, but if you're lucky enough to catch them on a sunny afternoon it's totally worth grabbing some rays and enjoying the last blooms of the season. There are a couple of tables on the attached deck area, and a few more on the patio proper.
The interior of this renovated house is super cozy (and done well as I like to say - classy), with vibrant paintings, comfortable seats and a little bar overlooking an open-style kitchen. I was just here for brunch so I can't comment on the rest of the menu, but I can say the prices are on par with what you'd pay for a nice brunch in D-town. (Ie. omelettes $9-11, with an extra charge for egg whites or extras.) I settled on the breakfast tacos on parmesan-dusted white corn tortillas with sour cream and salsa. Loved the tortillas and the eggs were fantastic. I was a little disappointed in the miniscule amount of string potatoes inside my tacos, but I did get a plate of 4, so I definitely didn't leave hungry. They start you with a basket of mini-muffins - that day it was chocolate chip - so I got my side of sweet with my savory breakfast and was pretty damn happy.
The rest of the fam had the pear and brie omelette, huevos rancheros, and an omelette with poblanos and bacon topped with green chile and white cheddar. Happy making all around.
Can't wait to have another brunch here! Next time: Norwegian pancakes and mimosas.
Note: Go early on the weekends (before 11 a.m.) if you don't want to get stuck in a long wait. This is a fairly small restaurant with a tiny waiting area, so plan ahead.
I feel like I have been too generous with my 5 star reviews lately, but dammit, i can't give this place 4. Â i just can't.
My perspective may be a little skewed; I'll explain. Â I was part of a wedding rehearsal dinner than rented the entire place out and they were waiting on us hand and foot.
Let me say, with certainty, that their Truffle oil shells and cheese is the best damn 'mac and cheese' ever. Â In the history of shells and cheese. Â I think they may sprinkle crack cocaine in the cheese or something.
My wife had the ribeye and I had the scallops. Â We were both extremely happy with our choices and our friends who rented the place had an amazing time... If you find yourself in the Littleton area and are looking for something not as pricey as Opus or Melting Pot, go to Cafe Terracotta. And, although I don't think its on the menu... you might be able to get a side of the Shells and Cheese with whatever you order.
I was so excited when I sat down for breakfast here, even after a 40 minute wait.
Unfortunately that feeling didn't last long.
The service here is ABYSMAL.
It's the worst restaurant service that I've ever had.
This place is poorly run and I think that the lackadaisical attitude trickles down from the top.
Start with this little fact:
The place had more people waiting for tables than were eating at the restaurant. And there were plenty of empty tables. Tables should never sit empty at a restaurant with a wait.
Instead of seating people though, the manager was reciting just GOD AWFUL poetry some of which I believe he had written, and some of which someone else awful had written.
So apparently his blathering on the microphone was more important than seating the 30 people waiting for a seat with three empty tables on the patio alone.
Fast forward to me sitting and looking around first for a highchair for my niece, which I had to procure eventually for myself after their numerous staff, none of whom were our waitress, passed by oblivious to our needs.
Fast forward even further to me eating god awful buttermilk pancakes. If there is a drought this summer, blame me. I'm sorry, it was my pancakes were were so bereft of moisture that they absorbed two cups of syrup and were still totally dry. When these pancakes, 75% of which remained when I left, hit the ground, they will promptly absorb all of the water in Littleton and thus - drought.
The problem with my feelings about how grainy and dry they were could have been softened had a waitress been around to give me syrup when I needed it, which was immediately after the pancakes drank 1 gallon of syrup and spit in my face.
Alas, help was nowhere to be found.
I think I am spoiled by the intense level of service you receive at the Imperial, because there you are almost bothered by the constant attention to your water, and asking how your food is.
There is none of that here which is a shame.
Why did I even give it two stars?
The waitstaff is HOT. I mean like wholesome, girl next door, magically babalicious.
Also, the space is incredible. It reminds me of the Highlands. Though Littleton never needed to be gentrified, it IS becoming hipper and the Terracotta cafe is probably part of that. Unfortunately they need to get their head out of their proverbial keester and learn how to wait on people.
