Caponie's Trattoria

I had recently gone to Caponies with my boyfriend this past weekend and overall was not impressed with the  food. I found out about Caponies from Groupon and was excited to use since it was a great deal and the place is BYOB. Not that their food was horrible, BUT I have experienced better. The one thing I really did not like was the smell of the oven right when you walk into the place. The smell is so strong and you even come out of the place smelling smoky. The staff was very friendly and welcoming but overall food wise, I have had better.

Great pizza. Small neighborhood style restaurant.  Serving affordable great pizza.  I had to return to try other menu items.

I just recently hosted a family party at Caponies. 3 reasons I wanted it there: GREAT ambience at the new location (LOVE the exposed brick and BYOB status); I knew the staff would take care of my guests; FOOD. They made the most incredible pasta with the house marinara; the lemon chicken was good (did not taste bready or fried); the pizzas, as usual, were amazing, and the bruschetta was crazy good. But, my favorite dish has been, and always will be, the sausage and peppers. I'm not a big italian sausage fan but THIS one is INCREDIBLE! It tastes like beef, not like sausage typically tastes like...it's so tender and soaks up all of the juices from the tomatoes and peppers so nicely. I knew that our guests were going to just go crazy over all of the food! After the appetizers were served, people were already saying how stuffed they felt, but once the pasta, sausage and chicken were served, there was no holding anyone back! Oh, and the calamari...good god order it broiled if you go there - so delicious, there are no words! I ordered the Quattro Formage (I know I killed the spelling) pizza and Caponies Special as part of the appetizers, just so people could have a taste....yeah, so after all of that, guests were rolling out!

I had gone to Caponies many times (old and new location), and it's because of the service and food that I knew my dad's party would be a hit, and that Tony and his team would make this occassion a special one.  Shout out to Wally and Alfredo for really taking care of my family, and to the rest of the staff for keeping things moving smoothly.

Honestly, even for a regular ol' Saturday night, when you're looking for a byob with great food, great ambience and great prices, go to Caponies!
