CLOSED. Â (I've already contacted Yelp about this, either they know something we don't or they haven't gotten to the request yet.)
And it's really too bad. Â Their thin crust was good, like I'd stop by just for a slice even when I wasn't hungry kinda good. Â It had a nice chew to each bite before you got to the crispy bottom. Â Sauce was tasty. Â Can't say I was a fan of their stuffed; that typical choke you to death Chicago style cheese.
From what I recall about this business, there was some kind of an emergency and maybe hospital stay. Â It was assumed they would be closed a few days but then that extended. Â Since then they have been closed. Â I've been by numerous times since last October 2012. Â Tried calling, got the voicemail a few times and then the line was disconnected. Â I passed by recently and the windows were clear of all the signage that used to hang in them. Â
If ownership is reading, I hope you guys decide to open again. Â When you have a fan base in place, it's always good to let them know what the heck is going on. Â I checked this spot out because I drive through the area. Â Not because of Groupon. They had a steady stream of business that operated around sports events and television. Â
It's really too bad they are MIA.
So a few months ago Park Ridge had their 1st annual Pizza Fest. Â After going with my wife, I really enjoyed the pizza from Carmines.
Well less than a month later I saw a groupon for this place. Â And to top it off as I am waiting for my home to close I am moving to a temporary housing in Park Ridge. Â Everything is falling into place for me to indulge in their pizza again.
But then I try to use my groupon and no matter how many times I call or email, Carmines is not answering. Â About a week ago I drove by at 7pm on a Thursday and they were locked up with no lights on. Â At this point I ask Groupon for a refund as this place is closed. Â I do get my refund, but I wish I was able to get my pizza instead.
