New Century Link Center, a great place to go see shows. Huge and well-kept. We have many great memories there. We never pay for parking, but we don't mind walking a bit. We really like the private suites as well. So much fun, if you get a chance to be in one.
I'd give it four stars if the parking was free. :)
Ive been here twice for my companies bi-annual conference. Â The center is connected to the adjacent hilton hotel. Â There facilities here are nice and can accomodate any size conference. Â
THe facility also provides catering service. Â Menu includes full service breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu.
Our breakfast included your standard fare of eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, coffee, juice, and danish.
For lunch we had a selection of cuban and hot dog sandwiches with salad, and sweet potatoe chips.
For dinner we had a some kind of pot roast on a corn cake. Â
Overall the quality of the food was good, comparable to any hotel meal, quality was respectable considering the kitchen was trying to feed 1000 people at each sitting.
We also had a cocktail hr which included various finger foods, shrimp cocktail, sausage, chicken skewers, and other puff pastry wrapped items.
Visited here for Figure Skating Nationals in January. Â It is your standard arena. No better nor any worse than the Sprint Center (I'm from the KC area). Seems all seats are nice and you feel like you are closer to the action than many arenas I've been to.
What does it have that the Sprint Center doesn't? Parking. Oh and parking too. Â Yep that is a big trade off for having P&L. Toss up. Â Forgot to mention there is a parking garage too.
One more thing - convention center attached to the arena. Â Perfect for this event.
If you're here, you're probably checking out some event. Â For me it was the 2013 Midlands Auto Show.
Parking is available on the N side of the building, in this nice giant lot.
The building is very clean and brightly lit, like any other world-class convention centre. Â Staff were friendly, and there was plenty of space to walk around, though the areas by the hall entrances could be a bit wider.
Just got back from the 2012 Olympic Swim Trials held here. It is amazing to see what they were able to do here for the event. By that I mean INSTALLING AN OLYMPIC POOL ! Cudos to the Center and Myrtha Pools for accomplishing this amazing feat.
The center itself is very clean and on par with any world class convention center. There was ample ground parking all around the building. There is also the "Old Market" just a few blocks away that offered many dining and entertainment choices.
Downtown Omaha still has this post industrial vibe with abundant evidence of long gone industry. Â The CenturyLink Center seems to be a major attempt at downtown redevelopment.
Omaha hit a home run with this arena.
We easily found the venue off of I-480 and quickly made our way north of the Old Market to a parking lot. A couple of steps later we were in the doors. Â
The staff seems to be prepared and the multiple entrances were a big help getting everybody in and out. Â The concourses are nice and wide and although it can become a little crowded everybody still moves at a nice pace. Â The sight lines inside the arena were nice and easy and even though we were towards the top we still felt like were part of the action. I didn't try the food, but it looked like there were a good amount of choices priced at normal arena / sporting event prices.
One decent problem we noticed was up in the balcony the leg room was kind of short. I'm not super tall so I made it work, but I bet anybody over 6'2" would be pretty cramped. On top of that there were cup holders at the base of the seats in front of us. I think this was well intentioned, but having them there in a tight area and Nebraska-sized people (I'm guilty as charged) trying to make it to the aisle is a disaster waiting to happen. A couple of gentleman tripped on the cup holders and almost fell on the backs of the people in the row in front of us. Â So, if you're sitting up high, please beware.
To sum it up, this is a great venue in a pretty cool and getting better area of town. Â Please check out the schedule and enjoy yourself.
I went here to see the Mavericks hockey team play the Badgers last year, back when it was still called the Qwest Center. Different name, same great arena.
The arena is huge, nearly as big as most NHL team arenas. It's nice and clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The concessions are kinda expensive, but that's true across the board.
Ticket prices aren't bad at all. We got second-to-front row seats for like 30 bucks or something (in fact there was no one ahead of us and we were able to climb over the seats and be right up against the glass). It was a lot of fun in a legit venue.
Rock chalk! I was here for the NCAA rounds 2 and 3 last weekend and this place is great! The food choices AMAZING! I could watch the games and eat healthy too. Not to say that I didn't pick up a big fat yummy salty pretzel on my second night! The only thing I didn't like was the fact that they rush you out of the building between games. I'm a little claustrophobic and walking down a stairway with a thousand other people was a little nerve racking. All in all great experience!
